    One point, many people may not realize, the LX still uses solid rear axle with multi-link suspension. All the luxury full size SUV's have switched to less reliable independent rear suspension. This means the LX is still a Land Cruiser at heart

    I have a white 2018 with the luxury package and only has 23,000 miles…I absolutely love it. A couple years ago I installed a Magnuson supercharger and it will run circles around the 600 f-sport. Granted, mine spends most its time in my garage getting waxed, but when when I do break it out for a spin, it’s pure luxury to drive. I was recently at the dealership for an oil change and had a chance to checkout the new 600. I honestly didn’t care for it.

    This week I got lucky enough to find a 2013 with only 75000kms or 46000miles. It's in immaculate condition. Silver with dark interior and all options dvd, cooler, Levinson etc. This last gen 2013-15 is the last year of Lexus following their philosophy of "Understated Luxury". Anything after that looks ridiculous with that front end. Nothing but compliments from people about the looks and build quality. If you think your European luxury badge is so good, next time you have the privilege of being able get close to an LX you do, "The Door Test". Start by opening and closing your door and then compare the feeling and sound to the LX. I rest my case your Honour.

    there’s a youtube channel called “the car care nut” where a master toyota mechanic who’s worked on thousands of Toyotas and lexus compares an lx 570 to a land cruiser and it turns out they’re not just very similar they’re exactly the same besides the cosmetic differences and many people also think the engine is the same as a tundra and sequoia but it’s not everything is built better on the lx and land cruiser so the lx and lc really are one of the most durable reliable vehicles on earth you can’t go wrong buying one and their resell value is great too especially the LC

    Well, I recently was considering a very low mile 21 LX570 with luxury package that I considered magnificent. My plan was to replace my wife's RX350L. I thought she would be on board, how could one not. I took her to look at it and she declared that it looked like a "hearse". She prefers, loves the RX350. I thought I was going to give her an upgrade, she thought it nothing of the sort. I love them as far as SUVs go, and have not driven the 600. Another Lexus "thing" is that without the luxury packages they just don't seem as special to me, even though it does add significantly to the cost. The GX has never appealed to me, The RX is a very good vehicle, but that last LX 570 still lays on my mind. Great review Kevin, I couldn't open this one quick enough, keep them coming.

It seems to me that Toyota/Lexus is having some serious difficultly transitioning away from their old platforms to more updated ones. The LX600 is a very important product for Lexus and I’m quite surprised at how poorly it has been executed. GX is an awesome vehicle (having owned 2008 GX470 for 12yrs and then trading it for 2021 GX460), but I ended up with a 2021 LX570 and infotainment aside, the LX ride and comfort is on a different level. I do wish it had the same new infotainment as the 2022 GX, but the ride quality of the LX is so satisfying that it more than makes up for the lack of touchscreen and connectivity.

      @@Vlad6525 No question that the 570 is a far superior vehicle - but, you certainly are paying for that, and, at that price I would expect Apple CarPlay or android auto. This is an investment, and I didn’t want to be driving a vehicle with such ancient electronics late into the 2020s.

    I drive a 03 Sequoia Limited 4x4 and I have everything I need and even better with the 05-06 refresh that gave more horsepower for more top end oomph and an extra gear. I don't find Lexus SUVs to be appealing at all. You have the 4Runner and Land Cruiser for a proper off road 4x4. If you want luxury and smooth ride, why would you not just get a ES350 GS350 for a sporty RWD and save tons of money?

  • @CA-nm7mb

    Is it me Kev, or has a lot newer cars interior quality has taken a huge nose dive in the last several years?
    Like if you push or pull on certain interior components or tap on them, things flex, creak and just feels hollow and chintzy? Or more plastic components where they shouldn’t be used?
    I haven’t been in a brand new Lexus product, but I did sit in many different vehicles from different brands pre-Covid days when auto shows were showing off the latest vehicles that was on display for people to sit in, was still going on.
    It just seamed like there wasn’t a huge difference in quality between say a Benz to a Chevy Silverado in a LTZ trim. Sure the Benz looked and felt nicer than the Chevy, but it wasn’t that drastic, and if anything the doors of the 2019 E-Class didn’t shut with that heft or solidarity like the old ones did.
    Same cheap plastics used in many parts of the interior, same rock hard uncomfortable seats with leather trim that didn’t feel high quality at all.
    Compared to my 1964 Cadillac Deville, modern cars in general feel so cheaply made on the inside. Every time I get into my 64 Cad, I feel like I’m in a RR since everything is either stainless, or real chrome trim with metal parts everywhere that feels substantial to the touch. Absolutely nothing in my old Cadillac feels cheap or plasticky, since the only plastic part on the interior is probably the rim on the steering wheel. I haven’t sat in any newish luxury car today that even comes close to the real high quality thickly padded, beautifully stitched, baseball glove soft ultra high quality leather seats that’s in my 64, zero, zilch.
    I wanted your thoughts on this and if you could let us know which brands have you noticed some “cost cutting” going on, everything from how the quality of materials on the interiors are like, to how the doors feel and sound upon shutting?
    Thanks bro!

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Před rokem +2

      Yup a lot of cars claim to go upscale or premium but they still use a lot of creaky crunchy plastics.
      All the Benz cars under an S class are very cheap feeling they just look expensive. The American car companies take their trucks very seriously so they tend to have solid interiors for the most part even if they use some plastics.
      Most car companies are just trying the Mercedes formula where the interior looks good but really starts to rattle over time.
      The doors are a weird one because cars like Mazda have cheap feeling doors but at the same time they are one of the safest cars on the road 😅 so I don’t know what to make of that
      Lexus, Audi, Porsche, Honda, JLR, Genesis, these seem to have pretty solid interior qualities for their new cars

    • @CA-nm7mb
      @CA-nm7mb Před rokem

      @@MeynMotorGroup Thanks for the great response Kev!
      Good to know your observations on the latest stuff on the road. I feel like especially since Covid, with labor shortages and crazy high inflation, automakers are doing a lot of cost cutting and the poor quality is showing up, especially with recent recalls from different brands.
      Before I forget, do you notice on so many new vehicles car seat padding ( mainly the bottom cushion) has gotten so thin? Again, another cost cutting measure to thin out certain materials to save money. But it equals a sore ass after long trips. 😣
      This is why to me, the most solid feeling interiors that although has plastic in them, the plastic still felt pretty sturdy and durable and exterior paint that lasted forever, are Toyotas/Lexus products from the 90’s-mid-2000’s.

    The 2022 looks the best the Lexus 2020-2021 looks boring the new 2022 is masculine aggressive sporty and looks strong and solid and grounded . The , 2021 Lexus V8 is slush and slow and plain .
