    Yaa yes remember changing mine. I had a newer alpha unit, had the reservoir. You definitely made it look easy.
    Don't know why CZcams did not notify of new episodes,

    Took my lower unit off of my boat one time, an OMC stern drive, I cursed and had a hell of a time to get it back on. Glad it went easy for you.

    Thank you, video was a great help Thanks!

    I may get some arguments here, but watching him struggle putting the lower half back on is the exact reason why I REMOVE THE ENTIRE DRIVE when I do a water pump job. I don't separate the halves until it's securely in my vise/jig. It's really not that more difficult or time consuming to remove the entire drive. You also get a chance to look at your gimball bearing, grease it, check engine alignment, etc.
    A small piece of 2x4 placed at the very top of the drive will help pop your drive loose from the gimball. This is in the manual, or it is in mine. Anyone in reasonable heath can do this by themselves. Two people would be safer of course as these drives are awkward and can slip out of your hands, etc.
    BE SAFE and GOOD LUCK!

      Thanks Billy! I just did the bearing and exhaust bellows put it back together and now decided to do the water impeller, so didn't want to take the whole unit off again.

      I bought it from Canadian Tire here in town, called a anti-fatigue matt. Save the knees, or what's left of them. Thanks Vance!

    Did you by chance find the torque specs for those (and any other) bolts? If so, could you share? Thanks!

    • @OutdoorRob
      @OutdoorRob  Před měsícem

      I didn't find anything concrete, lots of numbers out there and I'm not sure which is which. I couldn't get to a couple bolts and nuts to torque anything anyway.

    Hey Rob, do you have any adventures planned over in the Fort Frances area this summer?

    • @OutdoorRob
      @OutdoorRob  Před 2 měsíci

      Not that I can think of, haven't really looked into that area too much. Wouldn't mind going back to Sphene Fire Tower and seeing if anything has changed at the resort. Thanks Doug!

      @@OutdoorRob There is lots of history on that road. Long before there was vehicle access up the Dryden highway, that road was a major portage route between the steamboats running Rainy Lake and the logging camps up on the upper and lower Manitou Lakes.
