    Thanks for your comment. We did it during a heatwave, so we had to take pool breaks. :) The total time was probably 3 hours including tinstalling the breakaway. We had already installed the mounting bracket up front when we installed the baseplate. As for concerns, no, we have none. We have had a ReadyBrute braking system since 2006. Before the Liberty we used the system with a Jeep Wrangler. If we change vehicles again, we will still keep the ReadyBrute system.

    Very good video! Great and complete instructions. I’m getting ready to install mine. The only step I will change is the breakaway cable. The baseplate for the break pedal has enough holes to add this cable at the same time you install the ready break cable and you won’t need that extra clamp. Good job!

    This is what we are doing now Chuck. Except I did not trust my self to do it. So it’s costing me a lot. Wish I had seen this first. 2013 ! Wow you been at this awhile. Dang , not bad buddy. I am not the best at working on cars , I was playing in bands and things I can’t talk about lol. I could not figure out how to do the car. Or this. Lol oh sometimes I feel duh! Make sure you cut the right cable. ( you said that just for me) well, that’s great you could do that. Now I really feel duh. I have been setting in this rv park waiting for over a week. Good for you. Good man and woman. 🤠👍

    I installed this system in a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailblazer. The brake cable would not engage my tow vehicle brakes. The included hardware didn’t properly fit the brake pedal. What a nightmare! The amount of pressure needed would snap the Drings. With the Jeep brakes not being energized the pressure needed to pull pedal was immense. It may work great on older vehicles. In theory, I liked the idea. I wound up having to install a Roadmaster Invisibrake system.

    • @WeRmudfun
      @WeRmudfun  Před 5 lety

      Sorry to hear that, did you call NSA and ask them about it . We had no problem in our 2011 Jeep Liberty that we did the video. We used it up until we bought a new 2017 Jeep Wrangler without a problem. We put the same system (using the original tow bar) in the new Wrangler and haven't had any problems.

    • @rixcastro1
      @rixcastro1 Před 5 lety

      WeRmudfun I did call and was told it takes too much force to pull with my hand and it would work with the motorhome. I called them after watching your video. You pulled the cable by hand to move the pedal. When I saw you do that, I called the manufacturer. They said, I would not be able to do it by hand. Today, I tried with the motorhome. It didn’t survive the first time press on the motorhome brake.

    • @WeRmudfun
      @WeRmudfun  Před 5 lety

      @@rixcastro1Hmmm. I was able to pull it by hand and activate the brake on the Liberty and the Wrangler.

    • @rixcastro1
      @rixcastro1 Před 5 lety +1

      WeRmudfun Yes, your video is why I called the manufacturer. I made a bracket, like yours, for the plastic sleeve in the front of the Cherokee. I placed it behind the grill. Without the brake system being energized the needed force was extreme to pull the brake pedal. It didn’t feel right. That’s why I called the manufacturer before attaching the Cherokee to my Bounder. I wish it would of worked. The cost was much higher. I had to buy the Invisibrake after I had purchased the Ready Brake tow bar assembly. Live and learn.

      @WeRmudfun  Před 5 lety

      @@rixcastro1 So sorry it didn't work out, I have no idea what's different in the Cherokee or the 2019 model. We almost bought a Bounder, we love the 33C. :)

    Just realized it weighs 4000 plus pounds:( Thought it would be like the patriot that replaced it 3200ish. Thanks for all your time and advice though. Very frustrating this toad thing! Really want a 4 wheel drive because I will be spending most of my time out west full timeish.

    • @WeRmudfun
      @WeRmudfun  Před 6 lety

      What is the tow capacity on your Newmar? Ours is 5000# and more than easily towed the Liberty, the wrangler is almost 4500# and that pulls easily too.

    I’m trying to install this exact system in my 2011 liberty, but where exactly is that drill coming out on the other side of the firewall? I tried drilling where you did but I didn’t see my bit on the other side when I drilled lol. In the video, there’s not a great point of reference for where it comes out of the firewall.

    • @WeRmudfun
      @WeRmudfun  Před 3 lety

      You want to line it up with the arm of the brake pedal. You want it to be as straight a line from where it is going to be wrapped around the brake to where it is going to go through the firewall. Good Luck.
