- This is a feature on what owner Stephen calls "Bullet Fairmont", his custom 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura. All sorts of tricked out top to bottom. Oh and stick it out to the end for a nice exhaust clip too!

That's a gorgeous car!
Yea I thought so too. Very tasteful.
My grandma had a 2 door Fairmont wagon back in the mid and late 80's. It was some sort of "program car" that my grandpa bought from our local dealership. I don't remember the specifics but I guess they sent them to the highest selling dealerships in each state or something. I haven't seen one since then.
crazy!
@@Str8sixfan GM did the same thing with the 79 and 80 the Malibu wagons, one of the guys that lived down the street was the sales manager at the local Chevy/Olds/Cadilllac dealership and had a 2 door wagon as a program car and they him drive it home and around town as advertisment and as a car they would use to drive people home while their car was getting worked on by the service department. I have only seen one of those since then too and that was at a Goodguys show in Florida.
@@TheREALOC1972 I expected that out of the Vega and Pinto...but never heard of G-body and Foxbody versions before.
@@Str8sixfan Yeah they made them mostly as program cars for dealerships.
That is a good looking Fairmont I have to say I cant wait to see what the future holds for yours Ive always liked the Fairmont my father had one back in the 80's the same color as yours definitely brings back memories. great job on the interview blessings to you and your loved ones
hey thanks, hope I can continue to give you a ride down memory lane if you can't ride in the fairmont itself!
I really like the play on the bullet! That green is smokin!!!
It's a very sharp color, I agree
Indeed!
The Fairmont Bullitt Looks sweet
Awesome to see a fellow car buddy in someone elses videos!
Yea buddy!
Awesome video that green paint looked awesome! Congratulations on 1000 subscribers grant!
So clean! Thanks too!
Fairmount Future is such a great platform...kinda hate that so many people are picking up on the fact that ANY fox body tricks work for the Mont, cause it was FOX before the Mustang...lol
Absolutely! Hope you have a chance to check out my playlist on my build - #projectLOWFAREmont
I learned how to drive in one back in the 80.s when they where new.
They're memorable cars for sure!
Definitely got some good and usable footage at Street Car Takeover and probably came back with some neat ideas. Super excited for you as you are soon to hit that 1k sub mark, keep up the great work!
I keep on keepin' at it, thanks for watching!
He had a really good idea for the bullitt theme for the car. I like it
I should have shot his locks, he used bullet casings (he works in munitions) for the locks. Also the studs on his valve covers.
This is the car Steve McQueen would have driven in 1979, if "Bullitt Too" had been filmed. And Bill Hickman (playing a twin brother of the deceased villain in the 1968 movie) would be driving a 1978 Dodge Magnum, seeking revenge.
Haha, love it!
Looks awesome really unique ride
No doubt!
Sounded good thru them pipes.!!
That it did! 302 seems to be one of the best sounding motors always.
Love the green
I thought it was sharp for sure.
Congratulations on the 1k
Thank you so much!
1000 subs! Congrats!
Thank you so much!
I like that color and the whole concept man, you should go all the way and SERIOUSLY ROD THAT BAD GIRL!! It would look hella sweet if you had some PHAT Racing slicks on the back and drag skinny's upfront. 👍
Yea, it's not my car so unfortunately I don't know if I can help with that, haha! But I think the owner likes the pro-touring vibe on it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video, keep it up congratulations on 1k subscribers .
Thank you so much! It has been such a long journey, but it's here!
@@Str8sixfan your welcome I'm almost half way to 1k keep up the great work!!
@@410AutoTech keep coming to our livestream, we'll get you there!
@@Str8sixfan I will thank you I really appreciate it!!
Beautiful car brother.
Yea I got to ride in it a couple weeks ago. That thing gets!
@@Str8sixfan Sounds awesome brother.
Great car
Thought it was done very nicely
I got a car show April 27th at the sonic here in Olathe ks 915 S parker
Oh cool, thanks for the info!
Cool ride!
I thought it was pretty slick
Nice
Thanks for watching
His car came out nice 👍.
It really is slick. Got to see it again last weekend
So inline 6 is your logo! Cool I have a 300 that rox.
Yeah, go find my video called - how my channel got it's name... you'll find it has more to do with a 300
@@Str8sixfan
Btw I have a futura too.. I do need to do rear pipes like his tho. As his look 100%
I had 18" 275/35 cobra Rs but I sold them and went with factory 14" hubcaps.
@@someonewhatever611 hopefully you've seen some of my other videos of my Futura! We sound like we share a lot of the same tastes
@@Str8sixfan just watched one.
I cant do vids cause I dont have a good voice for recording. I sound kinda messed up..
@@someonewhatever611 I used to think the same way. I've learned, 1 you get used to it, and 2 the better your audio equipment is the less you hate the sound of your own voice
Oh that thing sick
Yea, it really is. Even more fun to ride in! Got to do so about month and a half ago
Awesome car, question anyone know where to get body parts for these cars?
there is actually a guy around this area (Kansas City) who has a little bit of a stock. What are you looking for specifically?
Str8sixfan headlight bezel, window trim. I have some rust in my quarters but no one makes new quarters for these cars. Well no one makes anything for them. Year One needs to open there eyes now these cars are becoming hot
@@Blownblu03 if you're on Instagram or Twitter, you can DM me and I can try and get you in touch with him. Pretty sure he has some of that
Who would have that a fairmont would be a sought after car??.. not me til they came up in my feed this week.. I'm a gm guy of this era... this is pretty sweet.. nice job!!!👍
Hey thanks. Yea I think the boxtop Fairmont 2dr and the 78 Malibu are pretty close to looking like the same car. So it's hard not to like one if you like the other. Thanks for stopping by!
@@Str8sixfan yes you are correct about the similarities in the malibu and Fairmont. Again something I really never noticed until this week LOL. Now i like both!! Soft spot for the monte, cutlass and regal too of thar era.
@@markj2838 Parents had 2 Cutlasses, and I always like the GN/Regal. If you're interested I have a whole playlist for my own Fairmont Build if you didn't know. Thanks for watching!
@@Str8sixfan yes sir I'm a new subscriber!!
Olde carr auto guy sent me over!
Welcome!
Are you from Kansas City Missouri mate.
I am from the otherher side of the state line, but the guy I interviewed is from the MO side
@@Str8sixfan Sounds awesome brother. I'm from St.Louis Missouri but I live in the County though. I have a 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 with 208,000 miles and still going strong. I'm planning on bording the 302 block to a 306 along with adding some GT40X Aluminium heads as well as an E303 cam and Eldbrock truck performer intake manifold which should give it around 325 HP.
maybe someday I'll see somebody build a turbo-fairmont. Use the turbo 2.3 engine & drivetrain from a mustang cobra. update the standard fairmont suspension with mustang suspension and mustang or t-bird wheels/tires.
sneak around some of the Fairmont groups. I feel like there's at least one person out there building one with a 2.3T
It's as sharp as the one i had but I still wouldn't give you a silver dime for it! Give me a Cutlass Supreme anyday!
That's the best part of the car world, there's something for everyone out there!
ERICTHECARGUY would be proud
His is a box top, we're Futura guys, hahaha
Nice car ! ! Just strangley enough I like your color choice better & rim choice better for these cars . Some things shouldn't be so e to these cars . Summer grows Closer Grant ! ! Wish you could share pics on here ! Re- sticker my sticker to my Mudmower ! It looks awesome ! Keep up the great work ! And please don't paint project Low Fairmont Green !
Absolutely not, I can't afford a new paint job.
@@Str8sixfan that paint money is Always better spent on Motor, trans suspension ,etc before paint . Actually I'd say paint would be the absolute last thing you'd want to do .But anything really am starting to dig this CaR lol. I'm all honesty I never ever would have dreamed of even driving one. But it's actually been cool ! Kinda Ford's version if that years Malibu ? Or vice versa ? Can't wait to see how the heads rims and all get hot .I know I always jump the gun on you Grant lol! Your not Super- Auto-BuildMan . When is your Deadline to have her finished ?
Your budy is talking about EricThecarguy Fairmont in hotrod magazine its white
👍👍
No, this was years ago. It wasn't EricTheCarGuy's because his is tan like mine anyway. Different car - Real Street Eliminator is something they do every year in Car Craft Magazine.
@@Str8sixfan Martin Pond is the guy with the white Fairmont race car. A friend of mine has a Fairmont track car and if you are bored, this is the latest video: czcams.com/video/O5zuVVQ_LL8/video.html
I seen this car at Ford fest 2017
Awesome! He's currently getting his engine rebuilt
I have a random pic of the car from back then with different wheels, I seem to like better
@@nickfortunato2938 yeah the wheels I. The thumbnail are from a different show than the wheels in the video.
@@Str8sixfan yes! those are the ones I was referring too, I think they look better, I have a Fox car myself, it's a '82 Granada two door black, that I've owned since new
@@nickfortunato2938 I'd enjoy building a Granada some day. Hopefully you're aware of my Fairmont build that I'm working on. Plenty of videos of that on the channel here
Needs different wheels
Yes...that body looks great with Magnum 500s...
I got to see it in person again last weekend. The Cobra wheels actually look good IMO, the in person does it better justice.
sweet car terrible audio couldnt hear hardly anything he was saying
Sorry, next time I'll turn the wind off
@@Str8sixfan wasnt trying to be a dick just saying .other than the audio the video was good i was interested in what he was saying is all
Your Fairmont is beautiful 👍💪
I'll let him know.
