He cheated to benefit himself, he lied about it to benefit himself, and he did battled with his accusers to benefit himself. Who does this apology benefit? Any satisfaction others may gain by embracing it is nothing more than a secondary byproduct of another attempt to benefit himself. They say it's takes a big man to admit when he's wrong, this is not that. This is him hoping for credit by bowing downing when he can longer stand up. This is an apology to benefit himself, nothing more.

I would like to hear Lance talk about how he was able to conceal his doping over the years so that more stringent and successful doping tests can be created. Either that or let all the bike riders use PEDs' under a Doctors supervision of course. There are too many ways to mask the drugs being used today and in my opinion, almost every big cycle rider is using one way or another.

Lol, i watched the movie dodgeball a week after he admitted to doping and in the film he says, "You know peter, i once thought of quitting when i got lung, brain and testicular cancer at the same time. Sooner or later it was going to come out. He confessed because he got caught, not because he was sorry for the many lives he hurt and betrayed. Pre-dope Lance Armstrong was a great stage rider, but was never considered a contender to win the Tour de France. The red flag that got some to look into Armstrong's track record was seeing him perform somewhat adequately, yet sub-par, before his first TdF win, then after his "comeback from cancer," going on to win that race not once, but seven times in a row.

Personally I admire Lance Armstrong for what he did. He was part of dozens of organizations and charities to better the world. The Lance Armstrong Foundation alone donated over $470 million to the fight against cancer. Winning events like these are often a combination of skill and dishonesty. Many great athletes admit to using banned PEDs after their careers are over, and even more stay silent while reaping the rewards. He used his fame and fortune to better the world in a way no other champion would've. He made a great contribution to the lives of millions of struggling people and he is a great man, regardless of what people say. It's all a game in a culture of PEDs and he won and used that in an honourable way. Some things are just more important.

I am not saying that people should cheat by doping, or that what went on was right. I believe that if none of them were doping that it is possible that Armstrong would almost certainly have won at least six of those Tour de France titles. It was also pointed out in the 2 part documentary that he was upset about the doping when he first appeared on the Tour De France circuit.

He lost one of his testosterone factory (very important for sports) and underwent a treatment that literary destroys your body (for a time). Not only did he survive this but with a little help from medicine became the multiple champion in one of the toughest sports out there. That must be really encouraging for people in similar position - not to got to these kinds of extremes of course but to continue their normal lives with modern medicine.

The only real competition in sports is who is better at cheating. One cheater got caught, but at that time when he wasn't caught - he was the best cheater at that short period of time. Because victories are temporary, then you get old and replaced... So whats the thrill then about sports and victories?

But after his comeback he was all of a sudden pretty much unbeatable as a climber. So it's quite safe that he wouldn't have won at least six of those Tour de France titles without doping. This is all the more true, because we know that Armstrong was the king of doping. It's obvious that he took even more drugs than the others. A level playing field? then let's cancel all sport events. they have no point anymore. if some people win only because they cheat. it's good that he finally admitted but he he was somehow forced to do it, if not that he ;d never tell the truth and he woud die as a legend., this is unfair to sportsmen who don't cheat.people who are prefessional sportsmen shouldn't be allowed to take any drugs. look at marit bjoergen and other of her norwegian athma cheaters.everyone has asthma in norway- interesting.. this is shame.

You have a good point, sir. However, doping, whether or not we want to admit it, is a part of the sport. In an ideal world, it would not exist. But it DOES exist, and likely always will to varying degrees. To not accept this is to not live in the real world. And those cyclists who chose to retire early instead of deciding to dope should be commended for their sacrifice. Honestly though, what were they expecting? Call it a filthy and dishonest reality, but such is life, my friend.

100% true. Honestly anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional, thinking it's just "hard work" and "dedication" that wins races. Everyone who is close to being a champion is on drugs. Deal with it. Anyone that disagrees just go on Jason blaha's channel and stop being ignorant.

Tom Brady is probably doing the same. 43 years old and looks like he barely aged from his college years and is playing as well as he ever has in his career. Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky showed their age in their late 30s and these athletes are considered the best in their respective sport but Tom Brady isn't showing his age and is playing as well as ever. Really? Tom Brady was is and always will be a cheater!

  • @Mrfairchap

Just a few words, Lance. You didn't just cheat - you revelled in cheating. You turned it into an art form. You didn't just take drugs; you organised, administered, supplied and encouraged the use of drugs. In my opinion you are the biggest individual organised cheat in the entire history of professional sport, on a par with the drug-abusing Soviet and East German swimming and athletics teams of the 1970's and 1980's. Most serious of all was the devastating effect you had on the millions of boys and girls worldwide who worshipped you as a hero and dreamed of being like you. You betrayed them, abused them and, worst of all, you shattered their dreams. You are the paedophile of the world of professional cycling. I hope you are proud of yourself.
