    WHO IS JIANG YU SHAN:
Jiang Yu Shan (Hisham Al-Haroun) has lived 30 years in Taiwan practicing Kung Fu and Qigong. He is most notably known for being the master of the monkey style but he is also a master in Tai Chi, Bagua Zhang, Wing Chun, Xin Yi Ba and Wu Zhu Quan.
Jiang is a 33rd generation Shaolin disciple and has been nominated 9th Dan (or “Duan”) in Chinese Kung Fu. In addition, he comes from a wrestling family and is well-rehearsed in other martial arts such as catch wrestling (he has a good relationship with the notorious CACC Snake Pit in Japan).
Not only that, Jiang also worked as a special forces (CMC.SCC) drill instructor for over 10 years teaching hand to hand combat, tactical raid, entry team tactics, knife fighting and hostage rescue to Taiwanese special ops. Before that he was an army paratrooper in the German military where he got his initial military education.
Due to his respected status in Taiwan’s society and his high expertise in self-defence, he has served as a bodyguard for several Taiwanese presidents and presidential candidates. A foreigner working as a body guard for a president is extremely rare and unheard of in almost any country in the world.
To test his martial arts skills and proficiency in practice, Jiang has competed in various kickboxing, Sanda, MMA and Karate competitions, winning 7 gold medals. His biggest victory was winning the All Japan Karate MMA competition 2016 in Tokyo, Japan at the age of 45.
Jiang has 40 years of training in Kung Fu and has operated as a respected teacher since he was in his twenties. Now, he is a grandmaster who comes from very rare and pure lineages of Kung Fu and Qigong. This is why his teachings are not only very unique but also more effective than many of the commercial forms of Qigong or Kung Fu you see today.
It’s our privilege and honour to showcase his skills to the broader audience. Enjoy!

It is a good conversation you are having with the master. I appreciate you agreeing with him on many subjects with your own experience, but I would like to hear more questions being asked in regards to how some of the pieces fit together. Finding a teacher that will allow you to ask questions is a huge indicator to me of their ability to be effective teachers; it is part of the development of listening skill, in a sense

I train in traditional kung fu and the reason is that most people don't understand what they see because alot of martial artist in America are power eccentric and they don't believe in having an internal base.
Trust me having that knowledge is potent and but like Muhammad Ali said. The thing that separates the good from the great is that the greats are willing to train endure and do things that the vast majority of practitioners aren't willing to do.
Example like Michael Jordan playing a bulls game while having the flu. Most players wouldn't but its Michael Jordan is a great player.

It's a good thing to feel the struggle for a little , that's is a good sign for something new. This is the first time I see this position , and I love it. I can see lots of details and depth within this position , is a good practice. The hand and elbow position is actually an inward rotation force practice , and the back stretching position , I really love this stretch. The back muscle is usually a really tight spot where we don't normally stretch , and once stretch that there is lots of relieve. Once the stance is develop , it's forever , you can hardly lose it. For anyone who really wants to learn a good art , I really suggest finding a good teacher. A good teacher will always guide you on a safer path. And sometimes simple things might take years to learn (and lots of trial and error) , where a good teacher could give you the path within days or months.
I think modern days exercise focus too much on the form and muscle group , where "learning how to use the body properly and how to use the strength in our body" is kind of a missing link. Balancing the modern Strength training and ancient practice is a really difficult thing. The ancient practice is kind of a full system by itself. But spicing up the ancient practice with modern practice is always fun. Even walking will be different when someone knows how to use their body. Hope the ancient practice will get promoted more , this is something we really don't want to lose in the human race.
