- I've always been very comfortable working in Maya but as an Artist you need to keep exploring different tools that are available at your disposal. That's how you know what works for you and what doesn't. So I've been working with Motion Capture Animations for a while now, but I've been doing all the cleanup in Maya so far. That's why I jumped onto Motion Builder! Let's see how that pans out.
Give this video a BIG THUMBS UP! It really helps me.

Hey Guys!
I’m Sonali Singh - a 3D animator in Games. I’ve been animating professionally for the past 3 yrs now. In these past few years, I’ve learned a lot through some mistakes and a lot of hard work. Through this channel I want to share all that I’ve learned so far, be it animation, GameDev, Tips and Tricks for Maya, UE4, and much more.
I started this channel last year during the 2020 lockdown with a lot of support from Amaresh Beuria, who’s been a part of this channel from Day 01 and together our goal is to create the best and most interesting experience for you guys, rather than another boring Tutorial video.
Later in 2020, we founded Rebound Interactive Pvt. Ltd. to take all this to a different level, where we provide Consultancy, Animation, and Rigging Services to Different Studios across the globe and help them achieve their vision with our expertise in UE4, Maya, etc.
You can reach out to us ⬇

What's your favorite Software to create Animations??? 🤔 Also Follow me on Twitter to know my Test Results. 😉
cascadeur bc its free and easy to make animation with the help of physics-based tools. U should try
where did u learn Maya and writing scripts in Maya ?
definitely Maya
Maya is best for ever😊
Good luck with the job! 🤞🏻
Aww.. Thanks. 🤞🏼🤞🏼😄
Do you know about Cascadeur?
Yes! I've tried it few months back. Really good software to create physically correct animations. Never got the time to explore it more in depth. Maybe in Future! 😊
Hi Sonali, how is the salary you are earning as a animator. One of my cousin is looking for it and do u suggest any good college for animation
Great channel Sonali. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Harvey! 😊
Your channel was one of the inspirations when I started this channel. 🤗
Hey, I was working wid maya for years and then started mobu . As u said I felt like its a primitive tech .It’s too buggy but interesting to clean some mo cap data..✌️
Please tell me which applications is best for animations.
Depends on what you can learn and what works for you. All of them (Maya, MoBu, Blender, Cascadeur) are good.
Just start with something and see what works for you. 👍🏻
do u Also leaned Unity also
Hi, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Is there any comparison between 3dxchange and Motionbuilder? Which one is better in your opinion especially if you are using a 3d app like Cinema 4d
Great that you finally gave MoBu a try. Hopefully It'll be much easy for you to work with those Mocap Anims now. 👍🏼
True that! Looking forward to taking full advantage of all the features there. 😊
where did u learn Maya and writing scripts in Maya ?
Hey ,can you tell me what is the best easy free software to just create animations for unreal, i want to start creat some animations for my game that will help me alot
If you're looking for free software to create Animations, then you can definitely go for Blender.
Also after Control Rig, you can use UE4 as well to create your animations directly inside the Engine. Hope that helps. 😊
ive a question where can i ask??
You've asked one here already, so I guess you can continue here. 👍🏼
@@SonaliSingh alright then tell me how to add our own mesh to this animation charecter???
I found MB to be very frustrating when dealing with it's solvers. Whenever hand animating something that needed more freedom of movement it was a constant battle with the solvers deciding what should my poses be. It was a good software for converting mocap, but refining it - that was a complete different story. And quadrupeds were even more trouble.
And then I discovered Cascadeur soft. And oh my... it was like I became waaay better animator overnight. I literaly learned the software in a single day. This is an absolute game changer for handmade animation. You think MB is smoother? Well you know nothing Jon Snow ;) Try it, you will not regret it. You will never want to get back to MB again. Fingers crossed for your job! Best! J
This was funny : "So blender, I will look for you. I will find you and I will LEARN you"😅👏🤗
Glad that you stayed till the end to find that hidden PUN. 😅
@@SonaliSingh ofcourse. This is amazing. You are amazing. Artists like you doing contents like these are inspiring. I'm looking forward for more.
Very interesting! I will have to check this out. All the very best of luck to you. Your lovely!
Thank you so much! 😄
i just found your channel and i am addicted
Please tell me how to rig the car ?
You can refer to any car rigging tutorial out there on CZcams if you want to create joint setup and controls for animation.
And if rig means that you want to create controls on a skeletal mesh (Car), then you can use Control Rig as well.
Wow I got so much information in this video 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Try blander software
I will. 😊
Please if there is somebody who can contact me for training me in basic animation. And how much it Costs?
I don't think it'll cost you anything to learn animation basics. There are tons of free resources out there on CZcams. Good Luck! 😊
Actually, Maya has the HumanIK system copied from Motionbuilder that can deal with Mocap animation data, have you tried it yet?
Ya I know it's there, but for some reason I used to stay away from it when working in Maya. I guess limitiations are there for a reason. Otherwise I would've done the same in MoBu if not for the limitations. 😂
best of luck for the job and for the future!!!
Thank you 😊
HAI SONALI THIS IS VEERENDRA CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SOME TUTORIALS ON MOTION BUILDER AND ALL THE BEST
What do you think about Blender ?
I know it's a good software. Haven't tried yet tho. 🤔
@@SonaliSingh ya, a lot of studio has already shifted from Maya to Blender pipeline .
I was expecting Blender!
Great video, and fingers crossed!
Ha ha... Thanks!
Next new software could be Blender. You'll know what I mean if you saw the end of this video. 😅
I know nothing about animation. Suddenly bumped into your video amd was amazed to see your editing skills. I wonder you edit your videos yourself🤔.
You are doing a great job. Wish you luck #peppysage
A tutorial would be good :) gl with the job
All the best for the job!! :fingers crossed:
Thank you Pushkar 😊
Good luck! I hope you land the job! Of course, if the studio saw your CZcams Channel, there'd be no need for a test.
Thank you so much ! 😊
Actually the studio reached out to me after looking at my channel, so it did play it's part. 😉
So, I finally set up a satisfying control rig using your and Andrea's videos as reference. But turns out I'm bad at actually animating my rig. So, that's that. Good luck to you.
Don't worry. You've at least started and that's what matters the most. Just keep at it and you'll be there in no time. 😄
Good luck to you too.
When you get the time, you definitely have to try rigging and animation using Blender with the Auto Rig Pro addon. You definitely can use MOCAP data with this combo. :)
Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out some time soon. 😊
I'm waiting for the initial words to be true (When I get the time) .😛
@@SonaliSingh It will be well worth your time. It’s a great time saver. I use this for all of my projects. 😁
you blender fanboys are so sad
Blender needs you! Try it please
Haha..
I'm looking forward to it too. 😄
Haters gonna hate! I LOVE MOBUUUUU!!!
Good job I'm a game developer and animator and I'm Nandeesh
Thanks Nandeesh 😊
This coffee I am drinking is smoother than Maya. ;)
That's one way to put it. 😂🤣😂
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😊
I love maya)
Your English and my English no comparison 😂
За дней 5 бы сделал, вообще изи =)
Subscribed with pleasure ;) You taught me something new! By the way you are so cute :*
Haha, thanks, for both. 🤗😊
@@SonaliSingh (✿◠‿◠)
Listening to you
Hi hi hi 🤭🤭
That's sweet. 😄
That sweet smile >//<
Lady you're dazzling
Thank you. 😄
A AAA Studio you say, Ubisoft?!!
Nope! That's the wrong guess. I'll reveal when it's time.
Spoiler Alert: You got the job.
Shshshs...🤫
Don't spread rumours. 😅
Actually mobu is better. I have used it in past.
I like it too. 😊
Every software has it's own advantage. MoBu definitely feels better when it comes to Mocap, but when you look at the overall package, Maya is definitely a step ahead.
@@SonaliSingh most of the time I use either mocap or modular animation, so MoBu feels better. I am not good at animation from scratch.
