A "The Slingshot Channel" production! - Věda a technologie
Joerg watches a movie with vampires His favourite part was the crossbow
Hell he watched a movie with Salma Hayek in her prime and it's not his favorite part?!
YipYapYoup He's married. I doubt he can say it out loud.
or... he really likes slingshots and crossbows.
mine is the babes, escpecially selma hayek, the Mercury cougar and the crossbow plus all the other weapons
minus one
"Typical vampire distance" - JoergSprave 2018
Jorg knows a lot of vampires so if anyone knows its Jorg!
Slingshot channel by day, Vampire Hunter by night
LMAO :D :D
Joerg is the type of guy you want in your apocalypse crew.
You're in his crew.
He is without a doubt zombie apocalypse ready.
I am just afraid he will be the one causing the apocalypse...
What about me? I’m in recycling, and parts of my job is fixing stuff, I can take stuff apart, salvaging materials worth keeping such as all sorts of metals, gold, copper. I also have some carpenter skills. I think you want me to be in salvaging crew, literally take everything apart and forge them into things you need.
Welp, he IS the crew
One of my favorites movies as well !!!! Great Crossbow !!!!
When Joerg says, Let me show you what I came up with, That's it and you're hooked like a fish for the rest of the video LOL
Jörg looks like he came out of a Diablo game. He's the vampire hunter character that looks like he is a barbarian, but he uses insane crossbows and such to kill enemies. I want to see him be put in Diablo 3 as a mod.
Truly Infamous I wish I could see him too in Diablo! He could also be some weapon merchant. It would be amazing to listening "I have been busy stranger, let me show what I came up with" and when you click in some item "Let me show it's features HAHAHA"
Truly Infamous he reminds me of Griswold!
bonesnap maul was my second tattoo
There already is barbarian :)
Truly Infamous I'd start playing again.
Ive researched the idea of a pump crossbow a lot, and honestly its just an engineering dead-end imo. This is probably THE best direction you can take the concept. And this is a very marketable idea. Im always surprised how willing you are to share your ideas and not copyright or make money off them! You're a cool dude Jeorg!
I have No research yet but since you already did the research, have you looked into pulleys and lever actions? Why wouldn't they work? If you don't mind sharing ofc 😁
@@rohantorul7678 Hey just wanted to respond to your question directed at me. But if you see this comment was made years ago and I was better informed back then, sadly other hobbies have taken over and I have less free time. I forgot what I was referencing here. I think the point I was making in this comment is youre restricted by the amount of energy created by a pump or lever action, even with the use of cams. And making that work in conjunction with a magazine feed is very difficult.
@@sergeantbigmac aye thanks mate I'll go do my own research on this and see "what I come up with hahahah"
@@sergeantbigmac Check out the EK Adder, designed by Jörg himself, it is a 130lbs lever-action crossbow with a 5-rounds mag, optionally 7 with a speedloader.
@@SkeletonXin Yes what Joerg has been able to do with the Adder is incredible, he practically pioneered a new forefront in an area most people thought the tech was at a deadend. Myself included! In the 5 years since I made this comment, he went from prototyping to testing to bug fixes to partnering with an outside company to selling his product. Almost all documented on hi CZcams channel. Its awesome what a man can do when he puts his mind and focus on something.
Crazy, you say your not an engineer, I always thought you were an engineer because your design are impressive.
just GERMAN
Abbey Galloway German engineering 😂
MUCH better than those wood head engineers, Because he's also a inventor! HA HA HA HA!
German science is the world's finest!
@@FrizFroz Is that a JoJo reference?
"Typical" Vampire distance - NEW BAND NAME DISCOVERED
"Things are only impossible until Joerg does them"
Pretty sure captain Picard said that once.
As next Van Helsing´s automatic repeater crossbow?
That would be nightmare mechanism to do.
Rex McStiller he made some kind of gatling crossbow already xD
He pretty much made one. If he did the VH crossbow it would just be half decorative work anyway lol.
He sorta did minus the rotery bolt mag he could do a semi auto with a short blow tube that goes back and forth every shot or take some steam bow tech however it wouldn't have the unlimited bolts and air but aye knowing jorge he'll come up with some other cool stuff first
What is the name of the build so I can see it in all of its badassery?
You should invite celebrities to use functional versions of their movie props that you make :D
No engineering degree and he still a beast 👏👏
Dude, go to any university and look at the people who study there, an engineering degree means you put in time, not that you are smart, have talent or whatever. I have a degree in chemical engineering and a masters in biotechnology, I'm dumb as shit but I could memorize the literature just well enough and momentarily cram enough math into my head to pass the exams...
@@eldsprutandedrake lol
@@eldsprutandedrake this man is correct
Please do "Berserk" arm repeating crossbow for future videos! It also has some upgrades multiple times.
The Canon includes too!!!
Lux Ferre
LOL, that's gonna be one hell of build!
I don't think our laws here in germany would be too happy if he includes the canon😂
The cannon needs to be rubber powered of course. :)
A cannon that shoots out bags of dog shit or human diarrhea....
I bet it was a vampire they gave this video a dislike
Cock Nostril. Seriously, who drops dislikes on Jörg?
Timmy Spencer so true
The most bad ass engineer I've ever seen. Makes movie props into real working items. Fantastic. I love all his vids!!!!
Jörg: regarding blueprints. What you could do is dismantle the individual parts, put each on a piece of large paper and draw out stencils around the individual parts. Scan them and then upload them somewhere.
That way, people can just print out the stencils and used them as a guide for cutting out the parts out of wood.
It doesn't have to be an exact engineering blueprint.
I don't have any paper that size, and certainly no scanner that is big enough.
JoergSprave a high resolution photo with a ruler next to it would be enough.
For the paper - you could just glue together several Din A4 pages with slight overlap.
Anyone interested could then match the rulers cm in a graphics program and scale it, then print it to scale with multiple pages.
Almost every printer supports that.
Would be great if we could get some blueprints that way.
Keep making such awesome videos, you make me smile for years now!
kniefi oh yeah who wouldn't love doin that in their freetime lol
kniefi The problem with that is that you run into issues with camera distortion. He'd either need to shoot it orthographically or place multiple rulers so that you X, Y, & Z dimensions to help account for and overcome camera distortion.
Or hire an engineering student to put the parts in a cad program. Then sell the plans to help support your channel. 2 million subs should cover costs..lol plus give the kid some experience.
If this idea compound and all was around in the middle ages...
Guns never would have been popular. Silent, and fast reloading. Dang man! Your prototype skills are amazing!
Excellent work man!
Nah guns are easier to arm an army with plus easier to mass produce
@@rangernolen8291 its easier to craft a bow actually lol all you need is wood and fibrous type plants that make string fibres and off you go 🤣🤣🤣 guns are easier to use and easier to learn and easier to arm an army with but easier to make? No take a look at the amount of parts a gun has compared to a bow
@@bluehornet197 I'm talking about early guns such as aurquebuses and later muskets (based on the time period referenced). To be fair, while bow materials are easier to come by, they take a long time to build. You need time for the resin drenched flax to cure. But by far the longest part was whittling the bow stave, which can take up to four years in the method of the era. So while modern guns are certainly much more complex then bows, muskets only had 9 to 10 parts (Compared to the bows 5 to 6) that were all relatively fast and reasonably simple to make, and guns ,when properly maintained, could be used throughout a war and passed on down generations while with a bow the heavy use of war simply wore it down comparatively quicker. Last but not least how hard a gun is to learn. They were especially simple to shoot (volley firing being the tactic with the weapon) but harder to reload. Although muskets required daily training for months to be a fast firing crack squad, almost anyone could learn and use a gun as opposed to the near lifetime of training bowmen would go through developing their muscles and learning how to accurately fire a bow (plus mass firing formation).
So that's why I'd say muskets and especially modern rifles (even a simple hunting one) would still find its prime place in warfare.
I disagree.
The first firearms were made because they were noisy.
They were not accurate. They were not safe. They had less range. And less power.
A good bow, or crossbow was faster and a lot more accurate.
The advantage a hand canon had was it was noisy. This would scare horses and men.
And
There was repeating crossbow at that time. They were used in China. I have not seen evidence of use in Europe, but it's possible.
Now for the downside.
The Chinese repeating crossbow would shoot many arrows down range
But
You trade off power for multible shots.
In comparison it like trading a single shot 30-06, for a 10 shot magazine feed semi auto .25. Both can kill but a good winter coat stops the .25.
On the other hand, most people will keep thier heads down to a full Auto BB gun. It's not gonna kill you, but it causes pain and....... can shoot your eye out. LoL
I'm pretty sure the wooden stake thing only works if you put it through the heart. Now, depending on where you get your vampire lore from, if you were to tip the bolts with silver, that would be a different story, and yes, I know silver is for werewolves, but that's why I said depending on where you get your vampire lore from, because according to some stories and legends, silver kills vampires too, like in the Blade comics, for example.
Jörg Alter, du bist echt ein Vorbild. Nicht weil du die coolsten Slingshots baust, sondern weil du die Eier hattest deinen Managerjob zu schmeißen!
Jörg Alter, you are really a role model. Not because you make the coolest sling shots, but because you had the balls to throw your manager job!
(not all of us understand german)
"die eier" huh? LOL
Actually there once was a video on CZcams showing a historically looking wooden pump action crossbow with a built in bolt magazine in the stock. And it had autofeeding when operating the pump action.
He's my kind of engineer: no paper, just PRODUCT! Are you really an engineer? You're too cool!
"One of my dreams finally came true - a terrible pump action crossbow"
You are a very strange man, Joerg. Never change.
I'm a writer, and for one of my stories, I armed some of my characters with lever-action crossbows. They would have to work a lever mounted on the side three times, which would activate a ratchet-like set of gears, then load a bolt, and fire, releasing all the torque, and begin again. It took longer than a conventional crossbow, but took much less muscle power and was more convenient.
Here's an idea for you, convert one of their backpacks into a shield.
The shield must still function as a backpack.
The shield must be quick to deploy.
The shield must stop a bolt from your pump crossbow in this video.
Have fun with it. It would be interesting to see what you come up with.
Its the slingshot channel not the backpack channel.
@unga yumungus
Jörg - Hold my Safety T-shirt, please.
*proceeds to transform backpack into auto-loading crossbow*
thats awesome man. youre a god of improvise.
You are just not right Joerg !
And we love it !
A true mechanical genius !
Keep 'em comin' !
Keeps us all comin'back for more !
I think this is you're best invention yet! Very practical and easy to use, I love it!
I love his laugh😂
blockfroggaming A majority of his viewers does.
Everybody does
I hope that the next crossbow project will be the Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunter splitting crossbow. Hansel used a crossbow that split at about 90 degrees in each direction to shoot two targets at once, then return to forward facing.
look in his videos, he did something already about some contraptions from that movie
jose paolo Aranda I hope he make a x-bow with 4 bows.
Like this -> #
Papa Cap He created a rubber version of that for the Smaug video and launched a spear/javelin. Not using crossbow arms though
rkefreddyk He did Witch Hunter projects based on the movie, yes. But nothing about a splitting crossbow
...it was some time ago, I don't remember what he did in details
That snake dance was definitely mesmerizing!
Another Slingshot Channel Classic! You did it again Joerg! I always enjoy your enthusiasm. And FDTD is also a classic!
Yes! I've been looking for a bump action crossbow for years.
You can increase the efficiency of the pump action by adding a vertical/horizontal grip.
His pump grip is horizontal 🤣🤣🤣 us humans are vertical so he needs a vertical one
God, I remember back when Jorg still couldn't exactly figure out the repeating mechanism, but now everything is thankfully repeating by default. Happy to see how far you've come as a tinkerer
Is it just me or does his laugh make his videos better? Keep making great videos!
Love the videos you make!! From Dusk Til' Dawn is one of my favorite's too. The view of the crossbow in the movie was cheesy though. Quentin is my favorite producer. Pulp Fiction is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! Thanks for the cool videos!!
Jorg you could put bearings on the front and rear of it. Attach string to the front of the pump handle, run them towards the front of the bow. Around the bearings to the back bearings and have it pull on either side of the bow string to cock. Just put it back forward before shooting or the pump handle will yank back to the front position. Similar to your slingshot with skateboard bearings. The bearings increase the work of the "winch" by x2. So two sets could possibly get x 2.5 the work. So with the 50lb draw bow you could get the fast shooting Meter per second result of maybe a 100 or 125 lb bow and still pump it with 1 hand! I dont have an engineering degree either but 3d blueprints are my specialty! Anything you make from wood, I can make from plastic. Send it to your mold manufacturers to cast the first aluminum mold. Or just 3D print the products you want! Can do ABS, Nylon PetG, Polycarbonate ETC. Let me know man!
Youre such an amazing creator and an outstanding role model joerg. Your creations never cease to amaze. Keep up the good work!
Jörg, your ingenuity never ceases to take my breath away. Many Germans seems to be born engineers, it must be in your DNA.
I love this guy! He is so good at making working weapons out of (almost) nothing. Thank you Joerg! 👍
this can be sold commercially. Joerg can make some money out of this
nikhl saul I know I would buy one
Georg, you are my hero. You are a champion backyard engineer. Doing is necessary to test the best designs! Keep doing and having fun.
You are teaching people to have the courage of their convictions and try to bring their ideas to reality. God bless you.
In this way, you are father and teacher to many people. Thank you. I will use you as an example of innovation to those who need confidence and guidance.
It's amazing to see you coming up with new ideas and make it all that look so simple. Please keep inspiring lazy guys like me.
I love your channel!
Actually ther *WAS* a video of a very beautiful pump action crossbow with a 5 bolt magazine in it's stock so the bolts were even fed from below. But I can't find it anymore :/
You're the only person I know who could have made this crossbow. Well done!
I love how you've evolved with your channel. Sling shots got you started and you've taken on a whole different idea, ie air launchers and crossbow shit. All while keeping slingshots somehow involved. Very impressive
Best Channel on You Tube
Joerg.... You do all the fun stuff and we shall sit and enjoy your videos.... We don't need Blue prints.... You are just enough for us....
This one is so fun. I love watching your cool things you make.
I love this Channel and I am kicking myself that I didn't find this channel sooner. You'll like the cool uncle we all wish we had.
!!! you can have some rubber pulling the pump back with 50% of the draw weight
then you have to push it forward (add a lock for it in the front)
this way you can get 2x the power for the same effort but back and forth
that would be quite efficient
Good idea
You clearly don't know how the limbs of a bow work 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ the limbs have the drawweight on them and you cant increase the draw weight by 2x if the limbs cant support that type of load 🤣🤣🤣
you need to hit the heart with a wooden stake or cross bow bolt. if you don't hit the heart your just going to piss off the vamp.
Face. 40mm explosive rounds. Who cares if you get the heart if you blow the entire top of their body off? lol
That's a german wooden stake from Joerg, dude. If vamps only see it, they know they're toast. :D
Utter genius, I love your ingenuity sir
Dude that is AMAZING! Well done!
The max draw weight is 45 pounds for that bow.. just switch out the cam pieces you get with the bow.
can anyone spot jorg's scar from the crossbow accident? that wound looked pretty damn serious. he wasnt even out of commission for very long
Vampire Hunters go through worse, he just flexed the wound away.
AbztraK Is it that line on his right cheek?
What happened?
you sir are truly a genius. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Oh man!!! Please never stop amuzing us!!! You smart man!!!
You can rotate your blades on your jigsaw 90° .
'Now you know'
Would adding a foregrip make it possible to use a more powerful bow?
Same idea
A more powerful bow comes from a more powerful pull. A band that has a draw weight of 10 pounds won’t draw as hard as 1 that’s needs 30 pounds to draw(most of the time) so yeah with a fire grip you may be somehow able to help you draw a heigher weight
Yeah I was thinking an angled foregrip and a foldable stock (to rest the against the should as you pump it (pull the string). If it were made out of an appropriate metal I could realistically see this as a small game hunting crossbow with a large audience.
It has been a long time since I did physics but, if I remember correctly, in order to have a leverage effect you need to have a rotation move, you won't get anything for a translation move even with a angled foregrip. That how the RX Adder works by the way.
Джордж! Ты молодец!!! Смотрю твои ролики постоянно!!! Твоей энергии и фантазии хватит на 10 человек!!! Лайк!!!!
first of all awesome work like always and thank you for inspiring me for my ideas especially with the cobra crossbow mod you made

I really want one of these bows but where I'm from (ireland ) the bows are not available going off amazon on top of the bow price I've about 100 in shipping which is just too much does anyone have decent compound bow stores ect
Thank you
Joerg you are incredible! You have amazing building skills. That pump crossbow was awesome. I'm amazed every time you build anything! Knife, crossbow, slingshot or airgun, you can create functioning masterpieces. Great job like always a big thumbs up from me!!! -Mark
Jorge... I have fired thousands of rounds from a Remington 870, Mossberg 500 and 88 and an Ithaca Model 37... all pump 12 gauge shotguns. I grew up using my Father's Mossberg 500 / 12 gauge, starting when I was around 10 years old, the others, belonging to myself and friends as I got older, 4 years in the Military, then 25 years in Law Enforcement. The smoothest being the Mossberg and the Ithica, then the Remington, but... all of them had negligible "Draw" weight once the slide release catch was depressed, with probably no more than 1 or 2 pounds of force needed the to push the round into the chamber! My Father's Mossberg 500 / 12 gauge was SO smooth... you could point the barrel up and depress the slide release and the slide would drop and release a shell onto the feed ramp...then tip the barrel down and the slide would ride forward and lock the shell into the barrel, from just the weight of the slide... Ready to ROCK and ROLL! Gives me Goose bumps just remembering!
I wonder... Pulley systems multiply force, I wonder if some sort of pulley system could be adapted to the pump action?
Jak Silver i bet they could - but you would have to "pump" two times the distance then...
And considering the already large draw of the bow it would be rather impractical.
kniefi : use a compound cossbow, which they already make? But yes, the distance is a consideration. Perhaps if both the compound crossbow and a longer body length?
Perhaps a screw jack (force multiplier) and a pump action that would engage and disengage for a multi-pump way to bring string back. Say 150lbs pull divide by 3 pumps to bring back string is 50lbs force each..I think
You aren't an engineer? How are you not an engineer?
ollehkacb I think he is a retired engineer. I know he worked on TVs.
technically these things are not that hard to design, putting it together is the hard part.

Dav serban Ah!
I've see again this movie just the day before you post the video, funny, and good work, your pumping crossbow look like awesome !
You never cease to amaze me joerg.
Sweeeet
Don't you have to explicitly penetrate the heart of a vampire to kill it?
Not the From Dusk till Dawn variety
Yeah you do! You have to pierce the heart! One of the vamps gets its heart torn out but doesn’t die until he pierces it with a pencil in one of the scenes!
Depends on the setting. In some, it respawns provided it isn't killed while in its coffin. In others, a stake through the heart only paralyzes the bloodsucker. Nevertheless, sticking it full of bolts is going to hurt like hell, even if it _is_ undead.
TaNkSaLoT100 Not really unless their anatomy is vastly different than humans most are hit in the stomach or lung...

I saw the screwdriver kit and i knew i had to get it (plus keeping your sponsors happy). Both me and my brother have gearbest knifes, and they have these inbus-like star shaped screws keeping the blade in place. Currently there is absolutely nothing wrong with the knifes, but in case even 1 of the knifes would loose up i'll be very happy to have this set. Plus a single screwdriver in the Netherlands generally exceeds the price of this set.
