He's a crazy, hilarious, insane genius.
Well if he is insane I'm giving up sanity !
yeah you cant help but grin looking at his energy... that crossbow btw looks amazing!! I mean... he designed and built it himself? wow...
I just hope he doesn't get hurt making one of these videos
Honestly he should just move to the US already so he can just do even more insane things with guns
He is also german so he get "evil genius" bonus points
"Reasonably strong"...
Says the guy who's build like Thanos 😂😂😂
joerg needs to become a character in a borderlands game that designs crazy weapons.
Oh hell yes! Or any other v game. Great idea!
or Fallout
I Like it 😎👍
Or just design a new game for him. Joergerlands

Colin Furze: safety tie
Superflyguy7678 and jorg is the one that needs the safety waaaaay more hahahaha
Don't worry, CRH will upload a video of a similar looking device and concept in a couple of weeks claiming it a original and perfect masterpiece. Hahahahaha
Cody Lab : *takes a drink of cyanide* sorry what are we talking about
I feel like in Germany If you ever hear "let me show you it's features" you think "there goes jeorg again, fighting crime"
actually nobody says that smh
Clearly you've never been there.
Joerg does when he's being a badass.
Random stuff with Michael there are crimes in Germany?
"Lassen sie mich ihnen die Eigenschaften dieser Gerätschaft demonstieren."
Probably. There are crimes everywhere.
That belly laugh, you know he's the best kind of insane.
That thing is 1 integrated geared electric motor away from being a semi-automatic crossbow.
That's what I was thinking
Fully semi-automatic assault crossbow.
Imagine a Joerg Crossbow in PUBG
Bad ass
I want it bad.
Damn Joerg. You outdo yourself every single video.
Now THAT is a badass crossbow!

CROSSBOWS!!!!!!!
Being a man who since a boy wanted to be an inventor, you may qualify as one of my few living heroes.
Nothing is stopping you from doing that.
@@midgetman4206 you haven't seen any of his clips on the patent process, and why he gave the design for free of the legolas. Look into it there is alot of things stopping me from being more than a home inventor. The innovators mind can't be stopped from dreaming and building, but the world has ways of making sure you won't make any money.
I'm here only to hear the famous words:
"Let me show you its features!"
Better run...
ALI ALI I love those words!
And his hearty laugh too!
That is one awesome crossbow. You are a genius
Your grate
defo, when it fires it sounds better then any in the world!
Even better would be to build a motor into the cocking mechanism with a lithium battery and with a little logic board, in theory you could even have it rapidly and more quietly automatically reload or reload with the push of a button.
German engeneering 👌🏻💪🏻
What is not to love about this guy, outstanding creativity and craftsmanship and a big heart (8:30) with a great laugh to go with it, this is my first video and I am already a fan, keep the good work!!
ractheworld he made a magazine for a longbow and did the same thing. Check out the "Instant Legolas" video. Joerg is an absolute legend
Thinking outside the box .Incredible engineering skills.
All self taught. Like most good engineers.
God damn... I love seeing the growths of Jorg's ideas and how they have evolved, and actually have come to fruition because of his channel. One of the best right here!
You are a genius, mister Sprave!
Looks like the only way to make it a quick-cocking crossbow is to have an integrated Joerg Sprave... :D
You are a fantastic, brilliant lunatic. Have watched you for years. This is probably the finest yet
What a rare and wonderful human being Joerg is! I have just found his channel and it is really inspiring and so funny at the same time. He has the perfect attitude to life which is rare. Keep doing this thing!
I have an idea for a compact cocking aid that can be integrated into the stock. Use a retractable string that is connected to a geared winch. Everytime, you pull the string, it will turn the winch(which uses a gear box for easier cocking) and once you're done cocking, just let go of the string and it will retract back into the stock. (You had a video demonstrating an idea for a high torque rubber powered motor and I think that mechanism would be perfect for retracting the string.)
Joerg please reply if you think this is a good idea.
What you're describing makes me think of a lawnmower pull start, but with a ratchet and a reduction gear for torque. Great idea, I think it would work well on this crossbow.
Personally I think what he needs is a lever operated winch.
4xdblack
A lever would take up too much space. If you try to shorten it, then you won't have enough leverage. The retractable system would be conceiled in the weapon.
Edit: Remember Joerg not only wants a crossbow to be fast cocking. He also wants it to look good.
Guy Farting quick reply to make this comment go higher, Joerg needs to see this!

Makes a crossbow that would be god-like with improved materials and engineering.
Releases it onto the internet to be public domain.
God bless you, Joerg.
where can I find the plans
Are the plans availabile?
With a powered crank, wider gaugue for the arrows and a timed fuse for arrows this would put the torque bow to shame XD(from gears of war)

Joerg says I HATE PATENT OFFICES HEHEHE
the last patent man that tried
To enter my house...well. Lets not talk about that hehehe. We had to bury him in the forest hehehe. Somewhere back there hehehe
well, you could give it a laser pointer.
everything is better with lasers
MusikCassette even sharks! can't I get some freaking sharks with lasers?!
Put a bayonet on it
And Wi-Fi. It should be a Wi-Fi crossbow. And there needs to be an app, so you can control it from anywhere in the world. And an intergrated usb powerbank. Also there should be a heating system involved so your hands are always cozy temperatured. And maybe he could attach an espresso maker somewhere to the design. Then it would be really the perfect wi-fi usb hand heating remotely controllable espresso maker crossbow on the planet.
Ilegal to put flashlights or lasers on a gun in germany i dont know if its like that with crossbows too
Also add a Red Dot and a C.A.T.S. Computerized Auto Targeting System.
This is a lovely lesson in German culture. Glad to meet you.
Vielen Danke for all of your contributions and generous spirit, Joerg. You never fail to make me smile with you videos.
You're 52? I'm gonna start building crossbows, they are the fountain of youth!
Actually he is more into building slingshots and working out.
+Chraan is he the guy from the slingshot Channel? I always forget it (not kidding)
It is a bit misleading that he didn't actually name his channel "Slingshot Channel" though he constantly calls it like that in the videos, but yeah he is
My word he's doing something right......
I think the secret ''fountain of youth'' might be in the laugh*...think about it!
Joerg, you are just an awesome human being. Rock on brother!

No, he'll make a minigun that *shoots* busses *out of* busses *made of* busses, using only wood and rubber (somehow).
One Happy Man. I have been following him and I admire how much he loves life.
I love this. Joerg builds amazingly functional crossbow, puts it in the public domain. I always knew he had great character but this is like the cherry on top of the cherry on top. Keep doing what you love man, I'll keep watching (catching up also cause for a period I missed a lot of videos).

The Germans are hard-wired to be incredibly good with mechanics.

Jörg, not Joerg :)
M.f.G.Niko
Nikolai Lansky Yes.
What a great guy, more power to you my man, good luck with all your future projects and thanks for sharing with us mortals...
Great video, always look forward to Joerg's inventions and ever creative mind.
If you want to use electrical ratchets for stuff like this, you could integrate a some sort of pulley mechanism into the winch.
You could easily half the force needed when using some sort of gearbox
Mit einer elektrischen Winde wäre es m.E. noch besser
Or he just needs more teeth on the wheel. If one impact from the ratchet is able to get past one tooth, then it wouldn't spin back.
Hmm, that's not really a suitable solution, since it would put too much stress on the teeth. High impact on smaller (and therefore thinner and less sturdy) teeth would wear them out too much in the long run. Using impulsive forces is not suitable for other reasons as well, since it would probably be unpleasant if the crossbow was rattling or vibrating instead of smoothly winding up.
Another advantage of a pulley mechanism is that smaller, less powerful electrical motors could be used, since they would not have to be as strong as the ratchet.
Pump action crossbow
Oh, I'll give you "pump action crossbows" :)))
My mind is very in the gutter right now. Sincere apologies, I'm not usually like this.
Just all this talk about cocking crossbows - *VERY OBSCENE NOISES NOT OKAY FOR ADVERTISERS*
Sorry... I mean, I don't... *like* ... crossbows or anything... baka...
J.D. Ethridge ya that a great idea 👍
Maybe something like the double-pistol grip on the Mossberg M-1100 P? Obviously it would still need a stock for aiming stability, but you'd get increased grip from having a decent sized handle that can be dragged back, snagging the string on both sides (say a double-hook setup). Maybe even internalize it, have it run on rails. Of course you'll need a snap-in mechanism when it's in the full-forward position to "lock" it in place and provide stability. Maybe released by a smaller trigger on the forward grip?
Yes, I love weapons. The current build is extremely impressive, and these are just the requested hypotheses on improving an already great design.
I love your laugh, and your videos are always super in depth. You are brilliant beyond words, thanks for your amazing videos.

I wonder if a pneumatic cylinder would have enough force to push (pull) the sled. Was thinking about two long cylinder and a paintball co2 tank. Then do the two step trigger, one step would release the air from the cylinder to move the sled back into neutral position and second stage would fire the bolt.
Impressive! What a genius!
Love it. Very nicely made and detailed.
Joerg. You are amazing. It's that simple. Respect. Huge respect.
For a homemade standard, its fantastic job. You are a genuinely genius.

nice work Joerg . i hunt with an excalibur recurve cross bow. i think i can shoot about as fast as this cross bow you made but without the ratchet noise . great for home protection but too noisey for hunting .
I love your enthusiasm!
That is awesome! From the heart of Florida! Really enjoy your videos and your laugh!
How powerfull can crossbows get?
real expensive commercial ones get around 500 fps. Sub $1000 can get you in the lower 400's I think
time to go oversize :)
Monkey Poundage usually ranges from 250-1000 lbs. of force.
It is as powerful as I want it to be. More power only destroy the arrows. If I wanted more power, I'd just buy a different limb. Like an Excalibur 400 limb with 280 lb.
JoergSprave Yeah, the lower power does help with the quicker and easier reloading, which was the point.
My depression is temporarily lifted each time this guy laughs
