- My 2006 Arctic Cat M7 is down for the count and I am at a loss on what the problem is! If anyone knows where to head next please drop a comment!
Here's the sled when its running good!

Sounds like a fuel problem
You might want to check the valves in the gas tank. Sometimes they collapse and won't let gas through to keep it running. I think they are called smart valves. Or they are clogged.
I just had that same problem with my crossfire. I pulled the Throttle Body to clean the Injector and found bare wire on all 3 wires from the TPS.
After fixing the wires did it run fine?
@@HeidisGarageit did.
You having any luck?
Nothing yet, haven't had to much time to work on it. I'm planning on getting a stator and wire harness to try.
Have you checked fuel pressure? Sounds like it’s flooding. I’ve heard that sometimes the fuel pressure regulator can go bad and it’ll dump way more than 40 psi into the rail. Seems like the 700 likes around 40-42 psi at the rail.
Have you pulled your plugs, to see if it's flooding out? When you replaced the stator was it oem?
Yeah its just flooding out, put two new sets of plugs in it and every time they were soaking in fuel. I did not replace the stator, just tested and inspected the original, it looked fine, not burnt or damaged and tested 12.5 ish volts when being pulled over. Going thru the main harness right now to look for broken or shorting wires.
May want have the injectors checked or replaced
Throttle position saftey switch
I have it disconnected from the main wire harness, and it still wont run with the kill switch and throttle safety switch disconnected. Unless do they have to be connected for the computer to allow it to run?
Alright I'll do that then, maybe get them ultrasonic cleaned.
I had an ecu burn up because of a short in the heated throttle check it to see nothings burnt in under the ecu
I got a computer off eBay for $500 if it’s not the stator
That’s weird it still fire’s definitely a spark issue or a bad connection from the flywheel on
I just picked up a used ECU to try in it, I think its a ECU because the one that is on it looks like it could have water damage from cracked epoxy on the bottom!
@@HeidisGarage any luck with the different ecu?
Is the throttle closing fully ? Any slack at the throttle mine doesn't start if there is any slack.
Yeah it was, I'm leaning towards a bad stator I have one coil that's not producing enough voltage!
Have you checked compression?
Yeah, compressions good. I think the problem is the stator, pulled it and it seems fried!
My sleds doing close to the same thing any updates?
I'm leaning towards a bad stator. Have one ordered so should see soon!
@@HeidisGarage I already had mine done for a previous problem but now having close to the same as you did u say u can’t get spark if u pull the plugs out and rest them on the head?
Yeah no spark at all. I've replace the stator and every other electrical component on it except for the wire harness and ecu. I'm figuring the ecu is no longer functioning correctly.
I had one do the same thing ended up being a wire in back by taillight was shorting out
Yea if the taillight is out you can ride when there cold it will start....shut it off and it won't start..... tow it down be disappointed get home.... dang fires right up...fake... lol I fought it for days and finally read on net the coil over heated do to a dang taillight......... so disappointed when a Polaris towd me down
I just read another deal, this guy's sled had the same exact issues he replaced ecu and couple other thing no luck ended up being main wiring harness was burnt up, said the harness looked new, so wonder if it was in one of the connectors
I am wonder if it is one of the main wire harness connectors as well, I removed all the wire wrap on the harness and found a few spots where wires had rubbed and wore down to bare wire. So I fixed those spots and put new better wire wrap on the whole harness and tried but no change. I do have the three prong connector for the tail lights disconnected and I also have all the handle bar controls disconnected and the diamond drive speed sensor. I ordered a new coil, regulator and pickup coil to try and if that has no effect I might order a main wire harness. I am wondering would a bad crank angle sensor cause a no run situation?
Thanks everyone for your help!!
I wouldn't think so I'd lean more towards the harness or injectors, if you plug everything back in and try and start are the lights coming on? And are you getting any kind of engine codes popping up?
I'll try starting it again and see if the lights light up at all or if any codes are coming up. I didn't get any codes when it died on the trail either which I thought was weird!
