I've been listening to Neko Case since middle school and this was the first show I finally got to see her at and it is so fucking cool that The Current recorded it!
God damn. It's January 2021 and I just want people to get their shit together. C'mon, man. I want to go to show and pay a babysitter and go to work and be cool with people again. I want to go to a venue and pay 10 dollars for a beer and sit in a chair and then feel bad when I have to get up and pee. I want to nudge my neighbor with my elbow when they sing a bad ass line in a song and I want to woooo wooooooooooooooooo. Let's get our shit together.
I feel you 110%! I just saw Neko Sat. Aug 28th in Reno because I deserved to have a kick ass good time after all this "BLEEP!" since last year and a good time it was! A small venue, beer at 6 bucks a pop, Neko dressed down and relaxed and funny and just AMAZING!. A small reverb disaster near the start of the show was quickly fixed and the rest was gravy as they say. Keep hanging in there and find what gets you through it all so you can come out the other side shining like a new, or newly polished, dime! Neko rules!
Neko Case is one of my favorite artists. I got a chance to see her live for the first time at Cains Ball Room inTulsa, Sunday night (Sept. 9). What an amazing artist, songwriter, performer! Her band was off the charts! I can't believe I get a chance to revisit her show via this youtube video.
I caught this tour the night before (it seems) in Milwaukee. Amazing amazing especially now so starved as we are for live music. I'm just a tiny bit disappointed that she messed up Last Lion and seem to have cut the lyrics a bit. Oh well. Love her. Live music soon.
The Current did a great job--excellent sound and the camera work was first rate. Neko and band--as always are just incredible. She is an amazing performer and artist surrounded by wonderful talented people. Looking forward to the Beacon Theater show later this month. Thursday nite then again in Poughkeepsie that Saturday. (also catching the Jayhawks following nite in Tarrytown on way home).
Only got to see her open for Ray LaMontagne at the Berkeley Greek Theater, which meant a short set (4 songs). Still terrific but wish the bill had been reversed (with all respect to Ray LaMontagne, who put on a kick ass who of his own). We need people to get vaxxed so I see her again for a full show!
Ok so were all aware of the awesome lyrics so I'll skip that, the music is qualitatively always indescernable from a recording, and the dryness of the drums on this is blowing my mind, it's hitting me like some studio quality stuff right now, also idk who all is on this vid but I have to say Johnny sangster is my hero

@@markes5025 Imo Furnace Room Lullaby is her best album by a long shot (...and one of the greatest female country albums ever). I don't think she plays songs off it anymore because vocally the songs are quite challenging, and she doesn't have the voice she had back then. I've been told it's because she smokes a lot of pot. She's still brilliant though.

My guess is the real reason is that album is almost 20 years old and she has done a lot of things since then. She didn't play anything from the album before (Virginian) and only two from the album after that. Just too many great songs to play.

I think most critics pick Fox Confessor as her best. I think it's because that was the first one to get media attention.
