- The McLaren 570GT is McLaren’s attempt to tackle luxury. Sort of. The GT is a tiny bit softer, a teensy bit more cosseting, and has a little more boot space, than the 570S. Subscribe to Autocar now: smarturl.it/autocar
But it makes precisely the same amount of power from its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and, as we discover, is every inch as good a driver’s car as anything else produced in McLaren’s Woking factory.
And that makes it very good indeed: easily as compelling as an Audi R8 or Porsche 911 Turbo, as Matt Saunders explains.

Good car, how could it not be with the same underpinnings as the 570S; only thing is, does it really offer as much room and comfort as a 911 Turbo S and is it that much more comfortable than a 570S? Enough to pay an additional ten grand? And carbon ceramics are standard on the 570S not apparently on the 570GT. We have sat in the 570GT, and after went straight into a 570S cabin, space appears to be very similar notwithstanding the rear luggage shelf, more of a coat shelf, so all in all we would recommend the 570S.
Like a true Brit he uses his pinkie to toggle the paddle shifters.

Porsche have been left behind, they're new cars are boring compared to this offering.
Quality in the Porsche better than the McLaren, though the McLaren is now far from bad, and have you been out in the new TurboS. Boring it is not.
Spent time with Matt LeBlanc Friday and he has just bought the new TurboS. Says it is exhilarating and he would know!!
I like the MT ones though... namely, 911 R and GT4.
Nice thing about the GT4 is it wasn't ridiculously expensive and, although doesn't run the race-derived Mezger engine in the GT3, the Carrera S engine used is equal to the task given the light weight of GT4. Sounds maniac too!

what is this trend of McLaren doing many cars that are based on the P1?
It's not based on the P1 but it's the current generation of their cars and all of them are somehow simillar. All brands do it, for example 488 or GT4 Lusso are simillar to LaFerrari.
+Niko B I know that, but the Mclarens just look too similar, it's not even fun. Well, the 488 is the sucessor to the 458, that's what it is suposed to look, the LaFerrari looks kinda diferent IMO, the most exotic and worth of the "F70" title.
There are many 'hard parts' (radiators, for example), that depend on the precise placement and size of each of the inlet and exhaust ducts, on every surface of the vehicle - this forces the all the cars (which all use one of the two core 'tub'-chassis' that McLaren produce) to look very similar. The integration of all the parts of a modern supercar is mind-boggling (which helps explain the astronomical repair-costs, for routine maintenance!) - you wouldn't believe how far you have to disassemble these things, to replace any one part in a system (like a brake-rotor, or an AC condenser), because they're made with NO room to work on them; all in the name of 'ultimate-performance', of course...

Its not as fast as the R8 and Huracan. Watch other vids 0-200 test. Huracan faster off he line and still holds the mclaren out till 200 minimum.
The 570 range isn't built to compare to those cars, they have the 675lt for that
if you want the best straight line performance, buy a bike
mine goes from 0-200 in 7.3s, but straight line performance is not everything, cornering and braking are the things where a car has to be really good
I read that thinking in terms of MPH and was going to call bullshit then it dawned on me that you meant KPH.
0-200 mph in 7.3s on a bike would be absolute madness, maybe some dragracers can do this, but no bike you can use for other purposes too

911s are boring, nobody would turn their head to look at you if you drive it down the road, you see 911s everywhere but a 570s would make you king of the road.
