Nothing important is produced, we have abysmal education stats, and if tourism to Vegas stopped the state would have to reintroduce personal and corporate income tax to remain above water. Also, there's a crippling drug problem in the state, largely meth, and that's a pretty big inhibitor to Nevada being worth a damn.

My father was working for the highway department he was always upgrading the highways to all the towns and the freeways and he would always take his places in Nevada. I am so thankful to know this song not as well as I used to and elementary when they would make a sing it but I'm humming it today and I hope the youngsters reading this will be thankful to know that as older people had to sing it too. Came here from Northern California 7 years ago and never going back. I love it here. I love the dry climate and the desert. I love going to Tahoe and the Nevada side is my favorite. The Crystal Peak Trail is the most beautiful walk in the world. I love that it’s still possible to get a Republican governor sometimes, too.

I live in Carson City and I feel I have the best of all worlds here. To the west is Lake Tahoe, about a 30 minute drive. To the north is Sparks & Reno, about a 30 minute drive and handy for when I need a store that isn't in Carson City. To the south is Minden & Gardnerville about a 20 minute drive. Last of all to the East is Highway 50 and it's a blast to drive. Carson City is the capitol, but at the same time has a small town feel. There are about 58,000 people living here, but because it's spread out, you never feel it. Both winter and summer are both mild.

Been back once in the 15 years ive here. I will move back when my father passes. I want my ashes spread in the Truckee River near spice island Dr. I went to Lincoln Park elementary, Dilworth middle school and Reed high school.
I heard nothing but bad things about Reed high school. The teachers were sexual predators the graduation rate was like 30/70. The police were there at least twice a month for a code red. North valley's wasn't much better but dam never met anyone to openly admit they went to Reed.
Well when I went there over twenty years ago it was a great school. If anything has changed it tbe scum BAG adults who have made the choice to have kids and taught them how to be little pricks it's not the school it's those who are supposed to get taught tbere that make it that way. When I went all the teachers were very respectable and the staff was professional. I openly addmit to going to Reed because I'm a proud Reed Raider!

I think because of how much I've grown in my 7 years outside of nevada and playing this song on repeat 5 time's i think one day I'm going to move back to Nevada. It will never be the nevada i knew as a kid but it still my home even though i have much better medical options here i think by time I'm 30 i want to give Nevada another go. Give the State i grew up in a second chance give it a year. And if in a years time i feel that same attachment i had as a kid I'll stay but if not...
