Has 1 finals game of 40 points happened in 6th finals appearance after he lost his 4th and 5th finals appearances! He should’ve saved those 55 and 81 point moments for those moments instead of wasting them in the regular season! 41% FG career finals Kobe!

There is no need to argue. After match, Kobe did not brag him scoring 55 points against MJ. If he did -which would be foolish because no one expected 40 yr old MJ to compete against the best player in the league-, then you can argue about it. But he didn't. He was in the zone and he just did what he is doing for many years. After the match MJ was like: ''I'm leaving the torch to a great guy.''

I think its funny Jordan's fans don't like this because of age but love the 18 or 19 year old Kobe versus Jordan when J won. Watch any highlight Jordan wouldn't even guard him one on one like he did other stars, he sent Scottie Pippen one of the best wing men/Forwards of his day. But Kobe still went after Mike on defense and offense. Age is irrelevant its the performance, Jordan could still shot and drive just like young Kobe could and did, but he didn't blow him out in those games. And Kobe @31 clamps kids fresh out of college and high-school not to mention forwards that out weigh him.

Kobe *NEVER* dropped 55 on Jordan. In fact, Kobe did not score a single solitary point against Jordan for the entire game. Kobe dropped 55 on Jerry Stackhouse [15 points], Tyronn Lue [13 points], Bobby Simmons [3 points], Bryon Russell [6 points], Kwame Brown [2 points], and 16 points from free throws. Not one of the fouls were committed by Jordan.
Free Throws = 2 points [fouled by Jahadi White], 2 points [fouled by Bryon Russell], 2 points [fouled by Jerry Stackhouse], 2 points [fouled by Christian Laettner], 1 point [fouled by Jerry Stackhouse again], 2 points [fouled by Kwame Brown], 2 points [fouled by Bobby Simons], 2 points [fouled by Brendon Haywood].
Kobe did run over Jordan TWICE for his 2nd [3.47 2nd qtr] & 4th [0.30.2 3rd qtr] personal fouls. That's about all Kobe did to Jordan the entire game.

    "vs Jordan "
    lets see
this video DOES NOT show all 55pts but lets see how Kobe scored "vs Jordan"
    vs Stackhouse : 3 2ptFG/ 3 3ptFG = 15pts
    vs Lue : 1 2ptFG / 2 3ptFG= 8pts
    vs Pargo: 1 3ptFG =3pts
    vs Russell: 1 3ptFG = 3pts
    vs Simmons: 1 3ptFG = 3pts
    Transition: 2 2ptFG/ 1 3ptFG = 7pts
    Free Throws: 12 = 12pts
    total : 51pts shown
Vs Jordan : ZERO FG! = ZERO PTS

To be fair to Jordan and Wilt, they've had teammates who struggled shooting. Pippen was the only guy who was named to an All-Star team while he was with Jordan, unless you want to consider Armstrong and Grant as All-Star worthy while Jordan was a Bull.
Wilt could have averaged a triple-double if he wanted to for a couple years, but remember that Jordan was also a human triple-double in his own right when he was playing point-guard the last quarter of the 1989 regular season so both guys could.

  • @TheChannelThatTimeForgot

Kobe doesn't suck. He's a legend. But for those who have actually seen the FULL game here, you'd know that Kobe didn't drop a SINGLE shot on MJ. He also didn't guard Michael. There were two times Jordan guarded Kobe and he forced Bryant into TWO turnovers. Not to mention the steal from Bryant and the breakway slam.
Add to that, even with Kobe scoring 50 plus - the commentators still called MJ 'The greatest of all time' after Jordan scored his 23 point.

Objectively, Mike was the best offensive and 2nd best defensive player in his era (evidenced by DPOY, and 220+ steals in 5 consecutive seasons, along with 1st team all defense 5 years straight, 8 total). 2nd only to Pippen, which many argue is the best perimeter defender ever. You can't state opinions and call them facts. The FACT is that Mike never averaged less than 20 ppg, while Wilt's 14 and 13 a game in his final two show how much the game had caught up to him. Again, there was no comp.

Kobe doing work, putting work, making a clear statement that there is a new sheriff in town in this partial shoot out over Jordan over the hill and came back to taint his legacy as this game was an epitome to that fact. I didn't see this game and to a degree it was on a conscious level that i didn't want to see this annihilation and the decimation of the Jordan era. This is prove that all good things come to an end and so it is now with Kobe as now he is on the other end of this spectrum.

Actually the NBA was at it's peak avg height in 1987 or so and has gone down ever since because the game has gone from a PF/C game to a PG/SG game.
NBA scoring champ in the 2011-12 season just averaged 28 PPG. Jordan was either A. a rookie, B. injured/coming back from retirement, or C. A Washington Wizard when he averaged that low of a PPG. Wilt averaged 50 for just one season. Despite all his seasons where he had those godly PPG marks, Jordan averaged more in his career (30.14 to Wilts 30.12)

Look at kobe's 81 points verse wilts 100 point game. people who saw wilts said that he was taller than everyone, the closest person to him was 5 inches shorter.... kobe shot 3'3, tons of free throws and absolutelty nasty shots to get 81, which was played against better players who were taller than him! but it was a different ERA of the sport. Kobe is the best player of his era, hands down.

this was the most impressive display of 3 point shooting iv seen. i think you could say he WAS a better 3 point shooter...but as far as 1 on 1 overall GUILE at creating shots, mid range shooting, posting up, creating/finishing at the rim and LEADERSHIP, Jordan wins out. search youtube for "Michael Jordan 50 point game timeline", a 2 hour mashup of 40 of Jordans 50+ point games. the man literally created BEAST in half court sessions. even at 42, Jordans game was more sound than Kobes at 33....

    Bird/McHale/Parrish, Rodman/Dumars/Isiah, Malone/Stockton, Malone/Stockton. Payton/Kemp
Kobe had Shaq (all-time great) Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel were All-Stars when Kobe was playing with them. Now Kobe has Pau Gasol (a top PF in the league), Andrew Bynum (top 2-3 center when healthy) and former DPOY winner Ron Artest.

  • @EmmanuelStalling
    @EmmanuelStalling Před 11 lety

Nah, you didn't. If you did watch him play over the last eight years of his career, you'd remember that Jordan had an unstoppable fadeaway jumper, and that he could pull up off the dribble from anywhere. You'd also realize that during the last three bulls years, that he couldn't create separation as much, and STILL dominated the mid-range game against double and triple teams. Kobe is top 10 all time, but he a VOLUME shooter--he makes tough shots because he takes so many.
