Was lucky enough to get GT Omega Prime Lite to test and this is how it went! :)
Easy build but Im still convinced that XLRS is the best seat from GT Omega, at least for me :D
too bad that seat is sold out atm
Do a raffle to win your old !! ;)
You did nothing wrong with the wheels!
I bought GT Omega wheels, they are total junk. They say they are rated for 125Kg each, but they are not able to hold that much when the feet are retracted. Retracted they are only capable of holding 15 to 25 Kg.
In other words, there is no 8020 rig in the world which the GT Omega wheels are able to support when being moved; they are not fit for purpose.
I reported the problem to GT Omega, proving the point by obtaining the instructions from the manufacturer of the wheels. From your video it is clear have still done nothing about it. Honestly, I find GT Omega to be completely deaf to customer issues.
I have GT Omega gaming chairs, RS race seat, and many other items, but I will never buy from them again for me it is a "one strike and you are out" policy. I give all companies a chance to correct their mistakes, once and only once. If they come back to me with bullshit after I have proven there is an issue, I simply walk away and post the details when it will be the most devastating.
Fun review. Love the picture of your dog sitting on the seat. 🙂
I bought my GT Omega Prime a year and a half ago and haven't been disapointed in any way. I bought the attached Monitor mount and have an MSI 34 in curved screen mounted to it. Am just now getting ready to set up triple monitors.
Yeah im also super happy with prime, as soon as you build it its perfect 🤣
Triple screens are such an amazing experience. I'm partial to a single ultrawide myself now, but one of the best parts about building something like the Prime is that you get to build it to your own specs to fit your preferences.
Hope the Prime carries you round the track comfortably for years to come! :)
September 2022 I decided to go for GT Omega Prime thx to you, your streams and I think I will stay with it as long as I will enjoy this hobby.
Honestly I can't tell anything bad on this rig.
Thx Jaroslav, cheers from PL :)
🙏😍😍thank you
i got the gt prime i love it got almost all the upgrades next step motion but that will be way down the line lol
@@bgdaddy42069 Sim racing is such a slippery slope when it comes to upgrades. Nothing is ever enough 😂
Nice video. Glad to see you did the angle on the inside, that was making me stress in other videos I'd seen. Those wheels look great, you defiantly need to 'erect' the wheels before sitting in it though. That's a lot of pressure on an m5 thread with that offset.
Just bought the Prime Lite a few weeks ago and it is rock solid! Zero flex on the wheel base (Moza R9) and also zero flex on the pedal plate too and I'm using Simagic P2000 pedals which I'm running the brake at 120kg. Got the RS6 seat which is so so comfy, I've gone from a Playseat Evolution which was terrible for me in all departments.
The R9 is such a great pairing for the Prime Lite. Glad you've enjoyed your upgrade!
Are you sure pedal plate do not flex? Can you make a video? I did see reviews that were showing the plate is flexing.
@@peterenis4752 Yeah zero flex for me. I have seen certain pedal plates in reviews with a bit of bend/flex but nothing with my Simagic pedal plate which is a very heavy thick piece of metal
Love how June making sure your doing a gd job
We started working with Jardier to get access to June specifically. Best doggo.
Great review as always, Jardier.
Wouldnt mind hahahahah💪😍
I have the Track racer TR80 with the attached monitor stand!
Other than it being a pain in the arse to put together due to really crappy instructions it's awesome!
Although I decided to build it my way vs the way the instructions said in order to get a more natural seating position! So I left out a few parts that were designed to hold the pedal plate and connected the pedal plate directly to the base!
If I had one recommendation for all these companies it would be to use measurements! Instead of showing pictures, show pictures with the actual measurements. That way it's easier to get things right the first time vs having to make several adjustments.
I have a $120 Amazon rig and no real complaints, mounted an actual car seat to it from a 2018 Buick with the factory seat rails even.
The support wheel bent because it wasn't installed correctly. In the instructions it looks like it should be installed using a supplied stud with a nut on top of the flat top of the wheel assembly. But, that puts too much strain on the narrow bolt assembly connecting the wheel to the rail. A shorter stud needs to be put into the rail, and then the wheel assembly screwed onto the stud so that it sits flat against the rail. That way the weight of the rig is distributed directly onto the wheel assembly, not through the narrow bolt connecting it.
That is correct, but there is an issue with the wheels when the foot is retracted. Each only supports 15 to 20 Kg when retracted. The manufacturer of the wheels (which is not Gt Omega) is clear on this point.
I didn't realize the weight limit for these wheels was that low. They clearly aren't meant to hold body weight full time. I have 6 on my Prime as shipped by GT Omega. That puts 4 of them around my seat so it evenly distributes approximately 80kg of capacity. So, it would probably hold ok to sit on the rig, but I certainly wouldn't operate it with the wheels engaged. If I had installed using the method indicated in the instructions, they would have bent at the studs right away, just by moving the rig around.
What's the name or link of that wheel?
Hey, looking at this and just get another seat. What was the seat you preferred, you say you've been using for few years already?
Hey!! Love the stream keep them up!! Quick question, on your current setup, do you run a 32 curved monitor or a 34 Ultrawide curved monitor? Been trying to figure out which one to get now that my monitor decided to die on its own! Not sure if a 16:9 or a 21:9 ratio would be best. Thanks for any feedback!
Hey mate im using 34 ultrawide benq mobiuz :)
I bought the PRIME Lite at launch (along with a CSL DD and CSL V2 Pedals) and I'm glad I did! It's my first rig and a massive upgrade from the old IKEA desk. I agree the RS12 seat is a little uncomfy on the rear after a while, and I did the same trick as you by installing the profiles onto the seat first because I just couldn't understand how you can do it any other way. One thing I was surprised about is that you can't adjust the wheel mount angle. So on your mount the wheel is at a natural angle 14:17 whereas on mine it's flat, that took a little getting used to but I've all but forgotten about it now. All in all very happy, especially with little JARDIER code :D
Im so glad you like it! :)
A desk to a Prime lite is a MASSIVE upgrade. Hell of a first rig to get. :)
Is there a way to make it angled?
I use a GT Omega Prime Lite. Highly recommended, absolutely no complaints from me.
I got F1GT.. I think it's a bit heavy for how small it is.
i got the gt prime and love it. im a big guy and i use a jeep wrangler seat it great. i got almost all the upgrades on it and i just got a R9 with CS wheel
I bought it 2,5 months ago and before that I asked the support about the DD recommendations. They mentioned that it was tested and approved for 10Nm and over it they recommend the Prime. I'm using a Podium F1 (DD1 20Nm), but mostly between 10-12Nm. Based on previous reviews the seat itself (Rs12) didn't convince me. So due to the 10Nm recommendation and the seat I had some doubt but pulled the trigger only for the rig. I easily could say that it was a really great decision. The alu rig is awesome and I found an Audi Sport seat for 30€ in perfect conditions with working electrical lumbar support (yes, of course I can adjust it during racing, I did the cabling for it :D ) .
The wheels also didn't convince me so I bought 6 industrial wheels, they together can handle 200+ kg (I'm 83kg so it's OK :D )
One word or another, the rig itself is really really great and recommended and I'm pretty sure this could handle more torque than 10-12 Nm
Yeah i think high end wheels are totally fine with the rig. It kinda kills its big brother Prime but i can imagine some goes for big prime just cause its overall solid brick. But side by side both are perfect and sturdy :)
@@Jardier Yup! The more powerful wheels are absolutely fine on the Prime and Prime lite. The rigs are structurally sound and the materials are top quality so there's no issues at all.
I know what you mean about it killing the Prime a bit and this is something we did anticipate happening but, to be honest, we haven't seen any change in sales really. The Prime still holds its own as it's a bit more robust and gives more options for customisation as it has more channels. The Prime Lite is clearly the best "bang for your buck" rig available and is perfect for people looking to get a high performance rig at a more affordable price point.
I want that wheel base bracket so I can lean my wheel base back to simulate a semi wheel when I play ATS
Regardless of your weight the wheels shouldn't bend. I'm going to order one and am thinking to either buy wheels myself in the DIY store, which will probably be cheaper but I'm not sure if that's an option.
Would you still recommend the wheels that GT Omega provide for the Prime Lite?
i recently bought gt omega rig with a faulty seat that they company will not exchange/refund or even inspect themselves, the top half was twisted to the left. I have asked some sim racing communities online and it seems to be a common problem with the cheaper seats but other companies have allowed exchanges and refunds. its a shame as I quite liked the rig otherwise but now I have to go through consumer affairs to get this sorted. just sharing the experience for others who are considering
Dm me on discord or tag me on twitter. Gto from our experience has very good support so we will see what we can do cause this is weird!😱🤯
Will the pedal tray be compatible for thrustmaster t-lcm pedals? I also have thrustmaster t300 base. Awesome vid jar :)
I dont see why not if your pedals have holes at bottom but maybe check with gt omega website 😱😱😍
I was lucky enough to get a Prime Lite after dreaming about it for years, and I really recommend it! Just one reservation about the seat, which is better elsewhere, but the rest is top notch. Great value for money!
I got some BMW sport seat from scrapyard for fraction of price. I only regret not buying the wheels.
@@ValdiValdies do you mean the caster wheels i got them for the gt prime they are amazing and so easy to lock and unlock
Glad you've had a great experience with the Prime Lite. We've noted the feedback on seats and it's something we're definitely going to address in the future...👀
I have been looking at investing in the Omega Prime rig, but upon asking customer services about the fanatec DD attachment for the CSL DD he said Id need spacers for it, but didnt tell me where I can get them or if they are included or not. only thing stopping me from ordering atm
The Prime Lite will be my next rig,I donated my ART to a friend that moved to Germany so in a few months I'll be buying another.Fantastic build and test video and Juneeeeeeeeeeee ❤❤
Ohohoooo😍😍😍🙏
You sound like an amazing friend to have. Hope you enjoy your Prime Lite when you get it! :)
I just bought this sim rig because of your video! I went with the RS6 seat tho, because I'm rather small with 5'9 - you think I'll regret that decision? The XL rs was the same price I just thought the RS6 might add to immersion.
Lets go mate! Not sure about RS6 I think you will see how it goes but I think it could be totally fine! :)
I found the RS12 seat to be very flat on the bottom, no angle or adjustment built into the Prime rig! Other than that, I do love my full size Prime rig.
I have the GT Omega Pro Cockpit and I love it. And you're Right Jardier, I absolutely Love my XLRS Seat. It is So Comfortable when company comes over I give them my chair and I Sit in my Rig lmao. Have even fallen asleep in it several times and was Comfy Thanks for the Video mate, I enjoyed watching.
🙏😍 wait is your rig finished?😆
Pro cockpits! I miss them. We still have one tucked away at our office :)
Hey Jardier, im kinda new viewer and sim racer! LOVE your vids/streams. I Currently looking to get a rig but im 195cm and 120kg, is this thing really gonna fit a big boy like me? Its really hard to try these things out :S
Yo mate yes!!! Take xl rs seat and prime lite or prime and no problem. Its 100% adjustable thats why 8020 rigs are the best 🤩🤩🤩
@@Jardier thank you soo much for you insight!!!! i live in canada and GT omega has/had a sale on for the GT Omega Prime. (almost same price as lite) I used the link from your website, thank you for providing that! Extra discount!!! I just ordered it and am very excited to not be in a chair with wheels sliding around! Please keep doing what ur doing. your positive attitude in your videos is contagious. Gimme a few months and maybe ill be racing you head to head! :) Regards your future competition - Shawn
You the man jar jar
thanks for 5% discount for my new omega prime lite continu what you are doing good race😉🤙👍
🤩🤩🤩
does anyone have any recommendations on how to mount a buttkicker gamer pro on it?
the pro doesn't have the bolt-holes like the Plus does.
cheers
I got the GT Omega Art, just before the Prime lite came out and I do want to switch. I got a Moza R9 just before the R12 was released... I've got the worst timing lol
I have prime lite. Bought it because it’s basically the same as prime, but cheaper. So far 0 complaints, love it.
You don't lose much by going for the Prime Lite in all honesty. They've become our default test bed in the office just because of how lightweight and sturdy they are. :)
I've had the gtOmega Prime for the last year now. My only complaint is that the foot pedal tray has some flex on hard braking. They do offer an upgraded variant pedal tray though... I just think the "upgrade" should be the "standard".
I never had issue but yeah I agree should be standard 💪
So the new pedal tray comes as standard with the Prime now but the Prime Lite is packaged with the older pedal tray to keep the rig at a low price for people. You can still use the V2 pedal tray on the Prime Lite though and there is a reasonable chance we will offer it as an option on first purchase of the Prime lite in the future.
Hmm i'm looking to buy the prime lite. But for now i have a csl dd 8nm base. In the future i would like to upgrade to podium or so. Can this rig handle thatcore not?
Yes no problem mate :)
@Jardier that's perfect if it can handle the nm of the podium base I will save on that. And spend the savings on another seat. Also will the integrated monitor mount of the prime will fit this. Because it is 80×40 instead of the bigger supports of the prime
Lovely dog❤
picked the lite up aswell, but the pedal plate is the biggest weakpoint of this cockpit imho. ofc could be marketing so you'd buy the 155 euro pedal plate
why you do review and the not review the parts in the kit??? seems like your saying the kit isn't good enough
Wow, prices have come way down since I bought my Simlab P1 in 2019.
Yeah!
I love your dog
Damb, i was close to getting the art cockpit. Now im thinking of saving the extra 🤔
I have the ART it's really great with DD Pro with boost kit. BUT I wish this was out before I bought mine, I would have spent the extra on this.
I think its really worth it to wait for lite:)
@@Jardier If you can budget for it the Prime Lite is absolutely worth putting the extra cash aside for. The ART is still great but for future proofing your set up the Prime and Prime lite are unbeatable.
Thx for the discount! Unfortunatly the R12 seat is a huge disappointment for me. It is very uncomfortable and unhealthy. The seat base is completely horizontal. This solution is used in trucks, where the pedals are about 40cm lower than the seat base, making it ergonomic. However, when integrated into a rig, it is disastrous. I have a herniated disc, and I know what harms the spine. It should not be used in this way. I have never sat in such a bad seat in either a car or a sim rig before. Anyway, the aluminum rig is perfect and can be assembled in 2.5 hours.
the gt omega prime lite is good for a dd1
Im in between this and another rig, the seat on the gt omega worries me
Depends which one you like, you can also get seat from road car and such. I use xl rs and i really like to recommend it. I also tried rs12 which is epic but bottom was too stiff for me
Same thing happened to me with the wheels when I assembled mine. The grub screws that came with the wheels are too long. I had to buy ones the 20mm ones so it won't bend under pressure. Now it works perfectly.
Will try thank you!:)
@@Jardier The end result will look like the rig itself is sitting on the wheels rather than the grub screw which will prevent it from bending.
Unfortunately I had to build my own 80x40 as I could not import the omega to south Africa
Shame but also mega job that you can!:)
@@Jardier may I take a photo and tag you on Twitter
first!!!!keep the good work!!!!
does the rig come with the helping dog( June ) too lol
Extra 9999999€ for rent 😂
How well does this handle a 15 - 20 Nm wheel?
No problem at all:) but maybe gt omega prime might be better if you have such big wheel
@Jardier Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking how future proof would it be, if I was to upgrade one day to something with more power than a CSL DD with boost.
Think it sounds like the lite would be fine then!
@@dorrah24 Should be absolutely fine, we've used 20N·M + on it without issue. Like Jardier said though, the more robust Prime might be a good shout also :)
Just bought a SC2P and although this looks good, I’ll be going for the normal Prime just to be sure. Should last for years.
Exactly! 💪
The "buy once cry once" mantra has been a staple of the simracing world since forever. The Prime is the last rig you'll ever need so you're setting yourself up perfectly for years to come!
@@GTOmegaTV Makes sense! I definitely had tears in my eyes when I pulled the trigger on my Simucube recently 🤣
Show more doggo!
Isn’t your seat too high? The height of base does not look right.
No its perfect dont forget pedals are high too :)
By the bed behind his rig we can assume he had to choose between his rig and his girl.
Hahahahahaha
Loooool🤣 thats dog bed!!!!!😆
@@Jardier hahahahahahaha
You did not mention one important thing. It have this old gt omega pedal plate, that is just flexing when you brake.
Its not flexing for me, I dont know how people use it, but im having Venym pedals with 100kg and no flex
@@Jardier I did see few reviews, and some people mention about it.
czcams.com/video/EdL21PZ4Bh0/video.html
I did see someone else video where flex was way higher then that.
Didn't you have this issue about flex with the old pedal plate at your rig? I remember you did test some pedals long time ago and people was joking that the pedals are flexing.
@@peterenis4752 Hey mate I really dont know to be honest. Im using old pedal plate for 2-3 years on V3s and now Venym and never noticed any flex, so I really dont know. In the video you sent I see pedal plate moving but its not the gto pedal plate but the one put on it the silver one. Maybe its personal thing or something or maybe I never noticed. I can maybe do some tests and put camera so we can see if you hit me on discord or something. I dont want to give wrong info. But Im using pedal camera for a year now and never seen flexing there. Maybe its some personal settings or something :(
@@Jardier Im thinking about getting my first proper sim rig so im watching reviews and stuff.
Before that I was just using wheel at stable desk all the time because it was quite convenient and didin't take space. For thrustmaster wheel it was good enough.
GT Omega use quite cheap profiles with less aluminium in the core then as example Sim-Lab. But overall because of they use 2 types of fixing vertical to horizontal profile made it pretty stable.
The only thing is that pedal plate, and for some pedals to mount it correctly you will have to drill the holes. You are limited to move it from side to side to and obviously some people are taking about flexing.
About the flexing in your rig in the past maybe i did mix up something, but I remember those jokes for months that yours pedals were flexing and you was taking that its the plate and not pedals.
btw. We were racing in pcars1 or pcars 2 AOR league (not sure if 1 or 2), but I did play very little from that time.
Maybe I will try hit you at discord, but I guess you are busy this week.
@@Jardier Im probably gonna order this one because with current price and my currency increase value the price is quite decent. Do you get something if I use yours 5% discount code?
I wanna upgrade my old thrustmaster wheel to fanatec CSL DD, but I can't decide between mclarent gt3 and formula v2.5. Formula is a bit small, but I know you use it.
IM EARLY (its 3:10 am 😒😒)
I am fed up of seeing Prime drinks in the shops and children fight over them. The only Prime I'm happy to see is this piece of aluminium extrusion in your hands.
🙏😂😂
With the rate the Prime Lites are flying out our warehouse we might need to impose one per customer limits too.
8020?🤔 Are you sure is not 8040?
[Edit] checked at omega GT spec sheet it's not 8020 it's 8040 which is quite significant difference .
Omg Jardier ROASTED the GT Omega stuff like he does with everyones setup
Still waiting on the XL RS seat to go with it 🙄
