70000 'Britannia' is BACK, but SADLY not for long!!! Beeston Castle. 16th May 2024

70000 'Britannia' is seen passing Beeston Castle on a first loaded test run after repairs.
Sadly after an unscheduled stop at Chester, the Scotrail set and class 47, D1924 (47810 ) were detached and returned to Crewe.
The Brit, was found to be still having problems with the motion, but continued on to Coton Hill with support coach.
After delays at Wrexham and Shrewsbury, she eventually made it back to Crewe 148 late.

All isn't lost. Britannia will find a way to overcome her motion problems, you see if she doesn't. Perhaps she's just feeling a bit of motion sickness, it's normal. Besides, a Really Useful Engine never gives up or leaves her passengers behind.

Thanks Rick. YES, saw them coming , about 8 grown men, they stopped and asked if there was a steam train coming? Without thinking I said yes, in 5 minutes🙄. They stayed abd wouldn't shut up🤣. Oh dear, but at least Sparky🐕 got his walk?
