10 Things NOT to Do in the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands, see nine million tourists annually. Before you can enjoy the gorgeous oasis and beautiful mountains of this archipelago of islands, here are 10 things NOT to do during your trip.
    1. Don’t Purchase Electronics
If you find yourself in dire need of a new electronic, the islands aren’t the best place to make a purchase. Some electronics shops sell bootleg products, or they try to pass off second-hand items as brand new.
    2. Don’t Agree to a Timeshare
They have a selling tactic that includes a scratch-off ticket, and you will always be a winner! These offers will push you to redeem your prize at a local hotel. Then, you’ll be scammed into signing a dishonest timeshare contract with a hefty fee.
    3. Don’t Ignore the Beach Signs
The red flag means no swimming. Even if the water looks calm. When the yellow and green flags are waving, it’s best to stick to the patrolled areas. Also, be cautious of jellyfish in the springtime. Avoid swimming and walking around with your shoes off.
    4. Don’t Visit Cruz de Tejeda
If you’re looking for sweeping views of the mountains and beaches, skip out this area entirely. Since it’s just 5,000-feet above sea level, there isn’t much of a view. Instead, head out to Mirador del Barranco del Carmen, La Palma to see stunning views of the rugged coastline.
    5. Don’t Get a Late Start to See El Teide
If seeing Tenerife’s legendary volcano, El Teide, is on your to-do list, make sure you head out early in the morning. To avoid the crowd, try to arrive by 9 a.m. the latest.
    6. Don’t Confuse a Pickpocketer for Someone In Need
Gran Canaria is a relatively low-crime area, but a common tactic is for pickpocketers to pose as beggars. They will get really close to their victim and quickly reach into their pockets to snatch their money and possessions.
    7. Don’t Fall for the Puerto de la Cruz Scam
You’ll notice a lot of the locals walking around with pet monkeys, snakes, and parrots. They’ll sometimes place the animals on a child’s shoulders and allow the parents’ to take a photo. After the picture is taken, they’ll demand an insane amount of money.
    8. Don’t Go to the Tenerife Beaches
If you want golden sand to wiggle your toes in, the beach in Tenerife shouldn’t be on your list. Since it’s the site of a volcano, most of the beaches are full of black sand that will scorch your feet! For a real sandy beach, head to Los Cristianos instead.
    9. Don’t Take the Train Ride In Corralejo
They promise to take you on a tour. After boarding, you’ll realize the tour simply consists of a quick trip around Corralejo’s back streets, and travelers have complained that the tour guides aren’t very knowledgeable.
    10. Don’t Accept “Free” Food
Vendors selling slices of pineapple will allow you to “try” a slice - only to demand you pay them up to eight Euro per piece! Just remember, nothing is free. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
Where do you want to know what not to do in next?

WHAAAATTT??!!! 😹😹HAHAHAHA sorry, I'm from Canary Island and we don't have snakes or monkeys that we use to cheat😹we're normal people, not scammers. Canary Islands are incredible, but the security measures are here to help the tourists and local people, for our security. Please, don't ingnore them.
So, if you have any problem you can call to the police and they'll help you.
And please, don't do videos if you don't have any idea of our islands. Thank you.

    1. Never had to buy any electronics whenever I have been there, but I'm sure there are reliable shops- although I do believe there are some more unreliable once, mostly because I have seen fake clothing brands before there.
    2. What even is this bs, honestly. Never experienced this, and doubt anyone ever has, in special, on the canary islands.
    3. Surely you need to watch the beach flags- as some beaches can get rough. But you should probably do that anywhere around the world. There are indeed some jellyfish around there, but not many. And also not very dangerous ones. Not walking around with your shoes off is a totally unnecessary precaution.
    4. Never been to the first one, but doubt it could do any harm. Also seems a unnecessary thing to list.
    5. Never climbed it, but seems like a personal preference.
    6. Another thing that I don't think is necessarily related to the islands, but something you should be aware of anywhere in the world.
    7. What even is this one. Took multiple photo's without a problem. Beautiful place btw, worth the visit.
    8. Another thing that I believe is a personal preference.
    9. No clue about this
    10. Doubt they would do this, but again, could happen anywhere.

the only thing that happened to me in my 3 years of residence was the attempt of a seller of media markt to sell me a used mobile on the cashier.they changed my device, put it in a bag and gave it to me.I naturally returned after 10 minutes and announced that I would call the police, ask for the video and move legally. after this, with no objection, they have given me the normal device.

Not buying electronics in the Canaries, what is this guy on about? This is Spain, which belongs the EU, there are plenty of legal stores to buy electronics, from small business to big chains such as Mediamarkt. No one is going to rip you off, unless you go to a dodgy place to buy your electronics.
Skip Cruz de Tejeda and go to Barranco del Carmen??? Are you aware that Cruz de Tejeda is in Gran Canaria and Barranco del Carmen in La Palma and both islands are hundreds of miles apart? Besides, Cruz de Tejeda is beautiful, you can go to el Parador Hotel and enjoy a breathtaking view while having a beer, a coffee or dinner, they also have a Spa there. On weekends there's a small flee market with local products. And Cruz de Tejeda is a crossroads in the heart of the island, where many amazing hikes start and it's also a nice stop for many car trips in the island. Have you guys ever been to Gran Canaria? Your ignorance about the Canary Islands is appalling.
Please, learn how to pronounce the names of places, it's not 'El Teid', we pronounce all letter, so you have to say the e at the end. Spanish 'j' is pronounced like an English 'h', so you should say 'corraleho' not 'corralejo'. Have you even been to the Canaries mate?

I am canarian and I swear this guy is just telling random stuff. I have never seen snakes, parrots, unicorns or lions in the puerto De la Cruz. All of that is in the zoo “el loro parque” and when you get there they take you a photo with a parrot, at the end they give you the photo and you choose to buy it for 5€ I think or to leave it. The beaches in tenerife are naturally black sand, but it’s not itchy, the only difference is the color. I really recommend going to “playa la arena” in puerto santiago and to “playa Jardín” in el Puerto De la Cruz, those two are of my favorites beaches. No one has never offer me something for free, except in the supermarkets, and if they did they won’t charge you and if they do just don’t pay them WTF.
