The way Kingdom Hearts incorporates different types of games and activities is no accident, and the skateboard was emblematic of the times KH2 came out in. It was definitely missed in 3, despite that one NPCs (and ergo the devs) comment that skateboarding is passé now.

Dude. Yes! As a skateboarder I used to LOVE skating around twilight town and other areas just killing time and messing around. I think it’s a tiny part of what makes KH2 my favorite game ever lol. Excited to watch this!
God I miss the early 2000 Aesthetic when it dripped into fantasy media. It gives it such a iconic feel That's just the lost in modern day Game culture. Skate boarding and tribal tattoos will always be better than sideshaved haircuts and selfies.
my favorite thing about the skateboard is how it links Sora and Roxas. Sora didnt know how to skate in KH1 because he grew up on a beach! He only knows how to skate because Roxas is in his heart. that's how I always thought about it
Back in the 2000's I was a big Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan and was super happy to see a minimalistic version of that kind of playstyle in one of my favorite game series done so well. I remember that I was sad that there wasn't some secret Skateboard Drive Form, and still kinda am today.
I always engaged so little with the skateboard minigames that I didn't even remember the Agrabah and Port Royal ones had crystals at all. I thought they were all point-based like the one in Twilight Town... But I want to increase the engagement of this video, so here have a comment! Neat video, by the way! you can glitch the skateboard counter by jumping into invisible walls on the rooftops in hollow bastion too, at least in the original ps2 copy of the game you could i haven't tried in the later editions but thats how i got the points fast

I wonder what would happen to Sora if the Agrabah Guards caught him skateboarding around the city. The same could be said for King Mickey once he sees Sora skateboarding around his castle, mainly his throne room and garden.
Been thinking about Kh2 a lot lately. Kh3 felt like... not a disappointment, but, underwhelming. Parts of it were honestly so good, but, it didn't deliver as hard as Kh2 did. I'm nervous for Kh4, and the continuing complicity of the "plot". Kh2, and those immediate following titles (birth by sleep, 358/2 days) were peak kingdom hearts.

The Skateboard needs to return in kh4 imagine grinding on rails or down buildings in Quadratum

It gives valor form xp while not killing the enemies because the damage is minimal. Its a good late game grinding option, literally
