I swear it was 3am and I came across your video on tiktok and I woke my wife up and said “I’m going to make rugs” here I am a year later and NON-STOP BUSINESS!! So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!
You are awesome for this man. Gate keeping art is lame af and you’re inspiring a lot of people by doing this. The people who are mad are just mad because they aren’t the only ones doing it anymore. I’ve been wanting to get into rug making since i found your stuff in 2020 but haven’t had enough $$ to get started and i held out the hope that I could till just recently and have finally gotten into it. Keep up the good work man we appreciate you
Now that I've finished the video I too say thank you, I'm so sorry the beginning was rough but thank you for staying true to your mission and for helping change my life!!!
Bro you literally gave me an obsession to work on rugs 😂 you definitely inspired a wave of artists and that is a beautiful thing to spread Knowledge, you are appreciated in this craft !! 🙏🌟
Love the video :) I wanted to suggest some reasons for the gatekeeping. The poor sportsmanship from other businesses can be the fact that they had a very firm grip on that niche and may resort to to discrediting you to keep their clients, its a poor way of handling competition. Some businesses or niches choose not to share the process and resources of their trade to avoid ruining their market (oversaturation, poor quality knockoffs, poor pricing from competitors that suddenly make you look like your robbing your customers, but really you are just paying yourself for running and scaling a business vs people pricing because they just do it as a hobby etc). I think the big one is some people would rather make a knock off of your product than buy it, or rip off your brand/business entirely. Some artists/businesses/manufacturers wont see the issue with helping you out but others will and it isnt entirely unfounded.
I’m so glad you reached out with this hobby because it has truly inspired me to start my own rug business and make content. Your videos are awesome and thank you for inspiring me to do what I am very happy with now 😊
I’ve always seen your videos on several websites, and I thought it was cool. I’ll definitely look into getting one or two from you. That aside, thank you for sharing, and breaking the gate keeping. You are inspiring a lot of people out here.
I watched Deaton Chris Anthony get into it after following his art for a while, but i also followed you and then saw you do it… so cool to see your progress and how open you are to sharing the skillset
Thank you Mr. Armstrong for always being so humble and genuine dude! I appreciate the strive and success you have been on throughout the journey you have been on! Hope one day we get to meet in person to have a conversation on how much you’ve grown as an artist, entrepreneur, and a great person. Thank you dude!
Thanx for the share I'm tuned in from Dubai en I'm planning to go back to ma country Uganda🇺🇬 en start the same business en I really appreciate who ever comes out with the idea of helping others by getting them out of their comfort zones en try something different like RICK ROSS said in Benediction,"A master mind is one who Feeds others off his talent" we really appreciate never up on helping others bigup
muchas gracias por tanto, te vi en pandemia y tube q esperar 2 años para q los productos llegaran a chile, me costo un monton. espero todo el amor se te devuelva
I'm not a rug maker but I'm running into similar resistance starting up my barbering business. From vandalism to spreading rumors.. It can be such a petty, ego driven industry. I have to remind myself constantly not to respond in kind and just do me. I wish you luck and keep doing you despite the resistance.
Well you know what??? I want to be a rug maker Since 2013 and I only know how to felt them...I’m very interested hopefully I will I understand everything you’re saying
I always stand by this saying. The only reason someone pays you for a service because they are do not want to do it or not that proficient enough to do it.
There was someone out of Colorado that was doing classes for a couple 100 and they couldn’t even suggest someone to stay with or a place to stay close to the facility they were holding the classes!!! They even want to sell me a kit Before I got to the class and then not to help me find a place to stay I just said you guys are rude I can’t have anything to do with you
Do U think an Old, Poor, Lady like me can learn and make a Living doing this? It doesn't look too physically demanding. Most of these people were just trying to not create more competition..at least in their minds!
