Nicolas Winding gets something right about movies. He allows life to happen in them. He's not manipulative, he actually listens and guides his vision through the wisdom of his team, events around him and himself. Jena Malone is really clever by allowing herself to enter that process fully. She's a rare beauty.

i watched it when it came out, on my hometheater, on mushrooms 5 grams every day and it will never leave me now ever. i love it. the soundtrack on huge speakers that shake your entire body makes it stay

Stunningly good series, and Malone’s character is one of the primary reasons. Love her arc, and that of newcomer Cristina Rodlo (who is poised to be a breakout star). The cinematography, score and unpredictable plot directions have made this my favorite show of 2019 so far.
She’s smart as fuck and has a soothing voice. I wish more ppl would hire bc she’s a fantastic actress
This is a stunning season 1 only series. It received so much flack but I think it's merely a reflection of the real world. Truly, you've never seen anything like this on television. Would strongly encourage watching at night!
If you're not someone who can appreciate the "negative space" of dialogue, would encourage you to watch something more mainstream.
But if you appreciate heavy dialogue, vivid cinematography, exploration into non-vanilla, gender non-comforming sexuality, non-traditional religious practices, drugs, psychopathy and extreme morality-bending...well...this ones for you!
