Keep them coming, I'll watch them. I'm 90% of the way done with my swap but man was the research a pain!

@@jacob5412 there's alot of little things. Biggest time saver I wish I knew, when you install a Reman starter, highly recommended if your rebuilding the motor as it's under the intake, you have to tap it all the way in with a hammer or your flywheel will rub. Had to take alot apart learning that the hardware. Also it's a good idea to remove the knock sensors when installing the starter as they are fragile and will explode with the slightest tap.

Also, how well did the engine fit? What mounts did you use? Upon research ( not much info out there for this swap ) I found that there’s some grinding and cutting and possible sump relocation to make it fit.

@@jacob5412 I used the northwest toys mounts, and added a 2" body lift, they suggest 1" but I didn't want it to be too tight. It could move further back towards the firewall an inch or 2, but would need custom mounts fabbed. Om my runner 1st gen IFS, I used a front sump pan out of an ls400, and everything fit, no griding required. I did have to remove the steering dampner for the pan to fit, I plan on making a drop bracket for it and will be hooked up close to factory position just lower on the passenger side. Also I went from auto to a manual, between that and engine placement, I had to make a Trans mount adapter that moved the crossmember forward a few inches. Just flat steel with welded nuts that the mount mounts to, and then bolts to stock location on the frame.

I have 1 in my FJ62. You can remove all the traction control stuff. Cartune company in New Zealand has tons of videos on these if you didn't know.

I just bought a 62 cadi sedan deville and I’ve been a sc400/sc300 driver my whole life. I’ve always been a 1uz & 2j cat over a ls just cus I like imports & not tryin to throw shade on Ls motors but I’ve been considering doing a ls swap for the cadi but I’m thinking of going with a 1uz but I’m wondering how complicated that would be ?

Is there a big difference between swapping a 1st gen and a 3rd gen 4runner? I have a 3rd gen that I've pulled the tired 5VZ out and was going to rebuild and turbo but a local guy has a '93 SC400 with only 170K miles that I was thinking of maybe attempting a 1UZ swap.

Problem is 93 is non obd2, it can work by non emissions legal in most states
