    nice, now u need to do the same to the rear, ( or a different but similar method, perhaps the same thing but on top of the springs? ) and then connect motors to the shafts, so you can control it via the cab by a switch! hell, connect it to the passenger power window switch! heheh, just change wires from the window motor to the external motors for the lift unit. may need additional relays for power load... but sweet guys!

Perhaps a pneumatic solution could be just as good? Perhaps it could involve modifying and pressurizing the struts?

    Before they even started i knew the CVs would be an issue. When you raise a fwd you run the risk of the cv hitting the lower control arm. You can also have binding in the ball joint. The inner cv can be an issue as well. The length of the shaft changes with the inner cv. It is a very minimal movement. This can cause the inner cv to pop out of the transmission. This design is all good in theory. Practicality, no good. I've built many suspension systems for 4wheel drive vehicles with IFS. The front diff must be dropped to gain any type of usable lift. The limiting factor in all IFS systems is always the cv shafts. Best thing to do with a truck when you want large amounts of lift, ditch the IFS and replace it with a straight axle. Stronger, less moving parts. The amount you can lift a straight axle is whatever you like. Although, with extreme lift and articulation you have to go with a hydraulic steering system.

    it may give the floorpan/bodywork more ground clearance BUT the lower suspension arms etc are all still at the same height so if theyre the problem you are trying to overcome, NO height adjustable suspension is going to help

    • @olliefoxx7165
      @olliefoxx7165 Před 2 měsíci

      Yes. Remember, he showed the marks on the snow from the exhaust, radiator support, differential that dragged the center of the ruts. They were able to raise most of the vehicle and create ground clearance to help in certain situations. The parts you mentioned would have to be replaced with modified versions to improve total ground clearance.

I can't lift trucks or SUVs, but I can lift the front end of a little car like that. Also I feel sorry for that poor gearbox. Those gears are crying as you shred them. Anyway very cool experiment.
