I am sure you are going to love this bike. The black finish looks good, and it has some nice options on it, maybe some heated grips will be nice for the winter. I had an Interceptor for two years and have Continental gt now and the engine matches the bike perfectly, I have some aftermarket pipes and they make the bike sound superb.

Dont think it's a touring seat? I put one on my interceptor and it is flat at the front and rises at the back - kind of two tier. Also with the touring seat you have a fitting for a seat cowl - a hole on each side on the last third of the seat. It is supposed to give it the cafe racer look, particularly when used on the GT?
It's those "funny noises" and other quirks that set it apart. The sound of that double thumper is indeed pleasant and not overbearing. Great first impression report. Very much looking forward to your full review. 🙂Cheers.
I just put new tires (Bridgestone BT46) on my 2020 model, it took the handling in the twisty mountain roads where I live to a whole other level. Love this bike!
Tomboy Royal Enfield is making some really nice 650cc motorcycles. The Interceptor is very Triumph Bonneville styled and the Continental GT is very Triumph Thruxton styled. They are Fantastic for being perfect commuter motorcycles with style. I love them. The bike fits you perfectly! Very nice review and very relaxing to watch. Please keep the videos coming ! The 'chill-factor' on a bike brings the temp down even-more . I went hunting for one of these (GT650-version) after following the development from Day-1 , any CEO that rides and makes his entire Development-Team ride , is taking things to the next-level . Nice-flat-torque-curve and Harris-Performance-frame make-for a good combination . Across-the-ditch from us (Australia) they drag-race these-bikes , taking them out close-to 1000cc and they don't shit-themselves, very-strong-engines . Great review. And a lovely view on Mersea on the beach with the sunsetting. As a 125 rider on Mersea most local riders say hello to other riders, no matter what they are on. Look forward to seeing more of Mersea on your vlogs.
This is a nice video. A new bike and a chilly ride to the coast and still you sparkle with enthusiasm. Air cooled engines give off more mechanical noises than water cooled engines. Maybe that's why Harley owners like loud exhausts. I wouldn't buy a bike with spoked wheels but now the Enfield has alloy wheels.......
👁️ ... something beginning with : RE!! I'm a sucker for twin dials and that parallel twin engine. This is very Speed Twin like and probably why I like it so much 👍
After many British bikes it feels very familiar and everything is in the right place apart from the gear pedal . I really like mine and feel they did a good job on this model .
Those controls were a deal-breaker for me, kept hitting my shins. I put a deposit on the Astral Green Super Meteor 650 after I tested it. Should arrive here in San Diego, Ca late December or early January, God willing. Thanks for the ride, sorry you froze.😎
I have been waiting for months to see you review this wonderful bike ,,,love the Interceptor ,,,so looking forward to your future Interceptor reviews ,thanks Dee
Love the first review comments was thinking about getting one of these bikes, if you can like a bike this much in winter it will surely but great in the summer months will see what you think in your long term review ride safe😊
@tomboy_a_bit 1.75M translates roughly to 5.7½ Feet. With that out of the way, loved your review, you ride maturely and nothing over the top. As an Interceptor owner (Barcelona Blue) I totally reflect your thoughts. The metallic clanging of the simple twin mill and that mild burble from the stock pipes is music to my ears. There may be far superior bikes than the Interceptor but what it has is soul and charm. Something that draws a second look from other people. Many people walk past a Ninja 650 or a HondaCB650F (both of which my friends own) but when they see my motorcycle, they always pause for a look, a nod or a small chat. I got one for close to £3600 since I live in India and at that price nothing even comes close though Triumph has some pretty neat Speed400 and Scrambler400 options (though both are single cylinders). Once you hear that 270° Parallel Twin, singles dont sound as alluring. Much love and respect from India. God Bless!
lovely bikes, had trouble with my footpegs, maybe its my leg/feet combination, biggest issue was sometimes changing gears, but loved everything else about it. I have its brother, the Rocker Red 650GT, gear changing on that, perfect. And same gorgeous engine. Anyway, love REs, next I'll trade my Tiger 800 XCA (2014) in on the new Himalayan when its available. Keep up the reviews! Love your sportster, I had a 1200 Roadster from 2016, best stock sportster ever. But I can't justify 3 bikes 😂
Hello Tomboy a bit, an interesting comparison would be the Triumph 650 c.c. Bonneville air cooled, the B.S.A. 650 c.c. Lightning, the Yamaha XS-1 650c.c. and the Royal Enfield 650 c.c. Interceptor. Also, the Royal Enfield 650 c.c. would be an excellent engine choice for the Rickman Metisse.
Gorgeous Machine That little 'windshield' from my point of view would make it easy to find or spot the clocks at high speeds. The clocks are low yes and I agree they're not in your face. With that 'windshield' . . . . slight drop of rhe chin and Bob's your uncle. Thank you, Johnny Boy
just like my cloths and hair style ....keep something long enough and it will came back to fashion ...... an air cooled 650 twin is the latest thing.....who would have thought it!!! glad i kept my XS 650 on the road this past 27 years.... this bike does look good though .....BT 46 F tyres are the way forward next though for this bike .
I got the Black Ray just last week while I'm currently working abroad. I'm thrilled because next month, I have a planned solo trip in South India covering approximately 2000 kilometres. only concern about this bike is its weight, and I'm uncertain about how I'll be able to handle it.
That sounds amazing. I believe you’ll be absolutely fine on it. It’s so nicely balanced and so easy to handle. Only just a little bit heavier than for example Meteor.
I'm interested in what type of video/audio equipment you used. The video and audio are excellent, as are your comments. The riding position seems a bit more upright than my Triumph T100. It would be great if my handlebars were more like the ones on your Interceptor.
My gripe is the tyres. Not a great selection and I don't have a lot of confidence in the "CEAT Zoom" tyres that came with the bike. The suspension needs work too... but I am that guy who fusses with things like that. One other thing... The bike is a middle-aged man magnet! I can't go anywhere and do anything after I get off the bike without some guy tracking me down and telling me about when he had a Triumph in the good ol' days. If this happens to you say "It's fuel-injected", while they are dazed and confused you can make you getaway. I'm not used to being a celebrity and it is probably the single most difficult thing to get used to about the bike.
I would like to have this bike and a Triumph T100 together in my garage to test ride, and compare them both..., but unfortunately, my name is not Dei or tomboy_a_bit ! This one is very attractive in this colour scheme, and looks more expensive than it is.
Love the bike but I'm just not a fan of the black cases and rims. Much prefer polished alloy. I've got a Continental GT 650 and the polished alloy cases look far better in my opinion but they're a pain to keep shiny. At least the black engine on yours just needs a wash when it's dirty and easier therefore to look after.
Hi Tomboy_a_bit. Just wondering, but I'd love your opinion if next summer you managed to get your hands on the 850cc Interceptor and do a comparison? Given the lack of power in the RE 650 range, I still think you'll enjoy riding this bike. I'm still grinning whenever I manage to go for a wee cruise on my Super Meteor. Safe happy cruising till next time 😊👍.
