Therealjaydope Junior Lubuw why would you wanna intro them to mid tier rap bruh. There's a lotta higher level stuff like Wu Tang Clan, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Chino XL, MC Ren, etc.
1st verse is Kendrick rappin from the perspective of a friend of his who died, 2nd verse is from the perspective of the sister of the person "Keisha's Song" from his album Section 80 is about and the fading out part represents her dying after she said she will never fade away 3rd verse is him rapping from his perspective and his fear of death and tying everything together
3rdeyerap That’s somewhat incorrect what you said about the 1st verse. It’s not Kendrick’s friend who died, it’s the brother of Kendrick’s friend who died. He’s basically appreciating Kendrick and saying he has love for Kendrick because Kendrick has love for his brother before he died. It’s almost the exact opposite sentiment as that of the 2nd verse.
Exactly. That’s why I hate when people request songs like this. It’s very frustrating to see. There are so many people who request stuff like this who think that because THEY themselves like the song, and because THEY themselves already know what the song is all about, that everybody who hears it will also automatically understand what it’s about. They never take into consideration that there is a lot of context, both before and after, and that without knowing it, you likely won’t know what’s going on in the song. It’s like if you have a favorite book, and you have somebody read one chapter from somewhere in the second half of the book, and then after they read that chapter, you say “So what do you think!? Awesome story right!?”.

You guys completely missed it... 1st verse is from the perspective of Kendrick's friend's older brother. He's thankful that Kendrick was around during his brother's last moments. He winds up getting gunned down as he is telling Kendrick to carry on his legacy through his songs. 2nd verse is a woman going off on Kendrick for being judgmental about women who are prostitutes. She doesn't want the advice and says she is good on her own. Towards the end of the verse she says "I'll never fade away" but her yapping begins to fade as the verse ends to symbolize her slow demise. The verse doesn't really fit the theme of the song because she doesn't seem to want Kendrick to sing about her but he does anyway. Last verse is self reflection on Kendrick's legacy. He wants to be the best influence possible and hopes that people will remember him and sing about him once he is gone.

The whole song is basically just Kendrick painting you a picture of what it's like as a person living in the Ghetto. He is saying that yes they can strive for better; but the opportunity to do so is less because of the environment that they are born in. They are more submerged into bad things than good things. The third verse is him speaking from the perspective of someone that escaped that environment, and how now he is trying to help people living in the same conditions he was in by informing people about their dilemma through his art.

A lot of his songs off Late Registration feature a live orchestra. if you do happen to read this and want to listen to something awesome from kanye/hip hop take your pick: 1. Runaway (probably his “magnum opus” song, his “comeback song” after the taylor swift incident) 2. Devil in a New Dress (features pretty chill guitar solo in the bridge) 3. Through the Wire (rapped this song with his jaw wired shut after an automobile accident that almost took his life in 2004) 4. Power 5. Heard Em Say 6. All of the Lights (this one has a lot of layers too it, will probably be the most “fun” listen. there are actually like 26 singers on this song, INCLUDING ELTON JOHN, but he layered all their voices together to sound like 1 or few as opposed to all 26)
Verse 1: Kendrick sing from the perspective of his best friend who’s little brother died in kendricks arms. Verse 2: Kendrick songs from the Perspective of a Compton prostitute that Kendrick has known for a long time. She is bitching at him because Kendrick wrote a song about her sister to spread awareness of the dangers of prostitution but she doesn’t like the attention it brought her. Verse 3: Kendrick from his own perspective tying the first two verses together
First verse is the perspective of the Brother of Kendrick's friend, who died in Kendrick's arms. Gunshots at the end of the verse shows that he was also killed before Kendrick's album dropped... 2nd verse is a prostitute articulating her disapproval for Kendrick writing a song about her sister, who also lives a dangerous lifestyle. She goes on to say she doesn't need Kendrick or his approval as long as men will keep paying for sex. She'll never fade away! Ironically her voice fades as the 2nd verse closes.. 3rd verse is Kendrick's own perspective. Will people sing about him when he's no longer here??
If you ever do more of these videos (please!!), react to "Ebonics" by Big L. It's basically a lesson is slang. Or "Devil's Son" by Big L. It's the darkest hip-hop song you'll ever hear. Some lyrics are quite disturbing! 😅 Also, you must do "Respiration" by Black Star. It's pure poetry. In an interview, David Bowie said that one of the lines in this song is one of the most beautiful he's ever heard: "So much on my mind that I can't recline, blastin' holes in the night 'til she bled sunshine"
The Death Grips part really saved the video. Great surprise!

1. Runaway (probably his “magnum opus” song, his “comeback song” after the taylor swift incident)
2. Devil in a New Dress (features pretty chill guitar solo in the bridge)
3. Through the Wire (rapped this song with his jaw wired shut after an automobile accident that almost took his life in 2004)
4. Power
5. Heard Em Say
6. All of the Lights (this one has a lot of layers too it, will probably be the most “fun” listen. there are actually like 26 singers on this song, INCLUDING ELTON JOHN, but he layered all their voices together to sound like 1 or few as opposed to all 26)
Guys, PLEASE listen to the song “4 your eyes only” by J.Cole. Even if not on a video, just personally it’s a powerful song.
Damn, where'd yall go
Yeah you’re missing ‘dying of thirst’
Verse 1: Kendrick sing from the perspective of his best friend who’s little brother died in kendricks arms. Verse 2: Kendrick songs from the Perspective of a Compton prostitute that Kendrick has known for a long time. She is bitching at him because Kendrick wrote a song about her sister to spread awareness of the dangers of prostitution but she doesn’t like the attention it brought her. Verse 3: Kendrick from his own perspective tying the first two verses together
Do "The blacker the berry"-Kendrick Lamar

oh shit hiding the death grips reaction, you should check ouit Danny Brown - Ain't it Funny
Listen to the whole album
React to anything that Rakim has done; I think you'd be surprised how much you guys would like him!
Finally
Honestly feel like you guys don't know enough about Kendrick Lamar or rap culture to talk about it but to each eaches own
If you guys do come back to hip hop, you should go back to the roots and listen to grandmaster flash

YoTeme MC Ren same old shit***
First verse is Kendrick’s friend , second is the sister of a local prostitute and the last verse is Kendrick
If you ever do more of these videos (please!!), react to "Ebonics" by Big L. It's basically a lesson is slang.
Or "Devil's Son" by Big L. It's the darkest hip-hop song you'll ever hear. Some lyrics are quite disturbing! 😅
Also, you must do "Respiration" by Black Star. It's pure poetry. In an interview, David Bowie said that one of the lines in this song is one of the most beautiful he's ever heard: "So much on my mind that I can't recline, blastin' holes in the night 'til she bled sunshine"
You have to do Rakim-Who is God it blow your fuckin Mind
Missed you fuckers
