Still a helpful video in 2022! I figured HDMI 2.1 would be a big selling point & would be pricier BUT not difficult to find, let alone verify. Turns out brick & mortar stores I went to and the packaging I saw didn’t list HDMI versions, period. Very frustrating! Thanks for the tip about cheaper 2.0 cables passing more data like a 2.1 cable. Love your look too!

Hey Fomo, thanks for the great content and advice. Have you happened to test anything over 40 feet since making this video? I have an RTX 30 series card but need a run about 65 feet and I've now tried a few cables with no luck. Almost got a picture once at 4k 120hz HDR 444 but it cut out after a second or so and I could never get it to come back. Other cables advertised as capable at this distance just didn't even get that one second of connection. All worked ok at 4k 60hz HDR 444. TV I am using is the Sony A90J (thanks for all the content on that, I was going LG G1 but got too excited about the XR processor and specular brightness on the Sony). With VRR causing gamma shift on LG not sure I care to use that feature anyway.
    Brands tried:
    Deconn
    RUIPRO
Clearline (this one got a picture for a second)
Also do you have any experience using HDMI signal repeaters with power input? I'm afraid these may cause damage and am hesitant to use them.

Got a new LG C1 OLED tv, seeing that my "native resolution" for 4k HD was only 60hz sent me through some sad unhelpful research. i thought it might have been something about a HDMI cable. however for some reason the PC resolutions under NVIDIA control panel worked in 4k 120hz, but had some blurring at least on text. so I'm not sure where the issue lies within all this nonsense.

Forget the cable Sony provides, for me I got a weird ghosting effect. After switching my cable that is gone and the overall picture quality has got to be 25% better. Sony should not even include that cable, or at least put a disclaimer on the included cable saying, this is just to get by with, go get a better one. 😀

Because 48GBPS isn't on any console! 40GBPS on SX and 40GBPS on V but bugged at 32GBPS for some apparent reason! No TV also displays 12bit colour! Do I need to point out the flaw? There's no way switching from a 40GBPS to a 48GBPS cable would show any difference since the signal sender in example both consoles only send a maximum of 40GBPS! Not only where it is attached but the wires themselves can "untighten,. I always find a 6 ft. Cable around 20 bucks. Don't need the mad expensive ones. Get whatever you need and go for quality.
