  • Welcome to the X2 build series. Throughout this series I’ll be building The Edge Products X2 two seater buggy. It’ll be powered by a turbo 3 cylinder Yamaha Nytro snowmobile engine. As you can probably tell, I’ve got a lot of work to do on improving the videos. Drop all feedback in the comments and let me know what I could do better. If you like the content please leave a like. Thanks!

I’d just say gaps half the width of your weld wire be about the only tip I’d give. Other than that coming along awesome. Awesome to see someone who hasn’t done much of this, and doing damn good on it. Keep up the work, looking good.

Hey thanks! Do you say that to help with weld penetration?

Brady Bell yeah it makes sure your weld burns in and penetrates. It’s not necessary, just something I learned over time of you don’t bevel the edges of piping half the width of the wall thickness.

A new video is coming. Some big life changes came upon me so the buggy got put on a slight hold!

You can always tweak bends to get them spot on. I have a fence where the bottom rail is about 100mm off the ground. I put one end of tube under the fence and hang my weight off the other to adjust bends. Using a brick and standing on the tube, you can twist the straight parts of tube to get multiple bends aligned.

I actually tried this, but I could only get it to straighten a little. I had one end under my pickup tire and the bend propped over a board. Then jumped on the hanging end. It worked a little bit but not enough. I got sick of messing with it and that’s where I left it.
      Thanks for the pointer!

Hey man awesome vid. I am starting my build on this same buggy. What diameter of tube did you use? And what dies in your bender?
