  • Airing up and down your tires before and after the trail ride can be a grueling process. Most tire deflators are slow and clunky, and compressors can take upwards of 5 minutes per tire to inflate to street pressure. Add inclement weather, and you’ll find yourself wishing there was a faster way. The good news is, there’s a better, faster solution to airing up and down your tires for off-road use.
On this episode of Chasing Dust, Matt shows us his new solution for getting on and off the trail quicker, using a set of Monster Valves from Power Tank on his new KMC Grenade Beadlock wheels and Nitto Recon Grapplers. 37-inch tires can take a long time to inflate and deflate with a standard sized valve stem, so Matt explains what these Monster Valves are and how they work. Watch how Matt installs these valves into his wheels, and demonstrates just how dramatically quick these larger tire valves work.

nice! i didn't know they didn't require drilling for the KMC. I have those and just have two valves, which is nice to airing up and down because i use both. this would be way better!

Your TPMS sensor is not facing the wheel correctly. That shiny side goes towards the wheel, not pointing up like you have it. May work just fine? But it’s upside down.

We just need to learn how to slow down. When I started wheeling over 15 years ago, airing up and down was part of the experience. Why are we acting like crack heads trying to tackle every trail super fast and then get back to the rat race. Just learn to chill out. Relax.

We have the same goals. Saving time at the trailhead airing down and airing up means we get to take a longer, more relaxed lunch break or take an extra stop to enjoy the views than we otherwise would have. All with the added benefit of not having a compressor whining, which is anything but relaxing.

It takes you a half hour to air down?

When 2 of your buddies need to borrow your air down tool it can take longer lol

Nice but the teraflex rims are about the same price or less for faster setup. They are ugly though...

Yeah this is an easy pass that thing sticks out way to far. If it was only as long as the red collar part maybe.
