Wow, this batch of Cowboy candy is spanning, so many days lol! But it will be so worth it in the end!
We managed to get our first batches of custard/ice cream mixed up for the ninja creami, and made bread and food all in between as well, which hey, if I didn't do that, I suppose the cowboy candy might be finished lol!

The cold really affects my joints. Like I have said before, I don't know how you do it. Running a CZcams channel living off grid, cooking without a stove (basically) and making everything from scratch. Plus homeschooling your children. Oh my Lord!
I think you do an amazing job of food preparation and preservation. You do NOT need to apologize. I think we all just get by one day at a time.
Out of all the utube videos I watch, your ones are the ones I look forward to the most. It is all so natural, you are living the life I always wanted. A lot of it reminds me of when I was young and carefree. Now I'm just old 😅😊.. but still young at heart. I feel your pain, cold weather can make everything hurt. You are having me thinking its actually worth having some jars cut differently for different uses on the shelf. Nyssa you are amazing 👏. 👏 . The things that you accomplish daily is completely amazing. Oh I love cowboy candy as well 😋. It is funny that you mentioned that your peppers didn't seem that spicy, because I just processed a big bag of assorted chili's and they weren't very spicy either. I even added some diced up in sourdough rolls, and it was a nice spice, no heat.
I'll take your -1 over what we've been having. It got to 76 F and I am dying!!!!! I am one of the ones who hate summer. As for pain I truly understand because I'm in pain 24/7/365 no matter the weather. My favorite ice cream is vanilla. I know boring. Except Christmas time then I buy and adore peppermint ice cream!!!! Hope you feel better.
I also absolutely love icecream and with my Creami it is less guilt! I also am really enjoying trying different recipes .

I love that I can have dinner and still feel ok about having ice cream because I’ve made it somewhat healthy lol! But I think it will be great for when I feel too horrid to eat, having something I can stomach!
That’s right Nyssa….i have osteoporosis etc and fractured vertebrae and some days the pain is bad and all I can be bothered having is icecream….i too tend to try and make mine healthier 😍
I use a lotion called hempz for my joints. It works in minutes! Walgreens and ulta carries it.

Went to Costco yesterday, loved it, bought two bbq chooks, huge ones, froze the meat and bones in slow cooker for the broth. Of course did buy other stuff as well.

Bless your heart Nyssa, I don’t know how you can stand out in the cold with your health conditions. I am hurting here and it’s 100* here today. When it’s cold there is no way. Try to rest when you can. I will watch your post when you feel better for sure but understand also when you can’t sometimes. The Roosters are messed up with their crowing. Here in the south everyone has roosters and during the eclipse they all started crowing. 😂❤TFS!!!

Your poor eye looked sore. Don’t push yourself to do these videos. Lots of CZcamsrs take breaks from it as it’s really hard work filming all the time and you have so much else going on too. From Dayton Virginia here. I can’t eat dairy so I almost bought the Ninja Creami at Xmas to try and make dairy free ice cream. I love seeing you work with one. Also, I never thought about adding protein powder to ice cream. What a great idea. Thank you so much for doing this. It’s getting hot here. I may have to get one after all. Wonderful video, thanks.
There's a lot of people who use it for high protein, low calorie ice cream as a treat and use the protein powders, I wasn't sure I'd be sold on it, but if I use the right protein powders it actually tastes really good, there are some texture/gritty ones and they use fake sugars, but I don't mind monkfruit and have used that before, I'm not a fan of stevia though!
You can also use protein shakes you buy in a bottle, I add fresh frozen strawberries or raspberries I thaw them in frig with some allulose sugar. So good.
@@JAYNEmM1962 I don’t think bottled protein shakes are as available here. Allulose isn’t legally sold here yet either but I was going to try some from IHerb.
Winter has certainly kicked in nicely now here too! From about 3.30 or 4.00 pm the temperature drops about 10 degrees suddenly! I've heard that you can use chicken peas as a egg replacement. I froze loads of eggs for winter. They're no good for boiled eggs, but they are perfect for baking, fried eggs, scrambled etc. You need to relax and look after your health! You look exhausted! Also I have bought ski trousers and snow boots for around here in winter. They keep you so warm, and they are really comfy!

Heh, I’m glad that you like it after hunting for it! Oooh, d would prob like it on pizza! We do tend to put mayo on pizza because of the lack of cheese and it has cowboy candy in it mind you!

I’m going to get brave and try to make cowboy candy. It always looks so good when you use it as a marinade. I notice you use small bags of sugar. Is it a special kind of sugar or is that just how you buy it?

I have been considering a Ninja Creami as well because I love ice cream all year round! Ice cream has become very expensive in Canada (all dairy has) and I am still figuring out if I will save money with the Creami. Have you tried making ice pops with the Creami mixtures? We eat a lot of fudgsicles and other ice cream "novelties".
I generally just use my thermomix for that kind of thing, because I can use it to whizz frozen fruits etc without any prep, we love the pops, they're great for day time, but I must admit that nothing beats sitting down to a 'tub' of ice cream after dinner hehe :D

Our Hampers are run by Aberdeen Pantry, they have an arm here and one in Redbank Plains, but there are a lot of companies that do something similar in various places, Loaves and Fishes, Food Assist, Lighthouse Care!

I'm not sure, we don't advertise heavily here either, its all consultant based, pop up stalls and that kind of thing, so maybe they do the same there, but again you have to be sort of 'in the know' lol. They do have a website though (Thermomix.com) where you can get in contact with a local consultant to check it out if you want! :D

Its the swings in temp I find really hard, we get down below 0 at night, but most days are still in the high teens to low 20's, it throws my body out pretty badly, but cold air is an issue for my face too.

Is there a recipe for the slider rolls I'm a little lost and can't find on the website
I have been hard pressed to get stuff published, my apologies!
I do two diff versions of sliders, one with egg and one without, so one is more a brioche and the other is more just a white roll.
but typically sliders are a brioche type roll, we like a light brioche.
240ml water (tepid is good!)
240ml Milk (or alternative)
14g yeast
60g sugar
2 eggs
110g of melted butter/ghee/oil
10g salt
900g of flour (give or take depending on your flour)
Everything in your mixer in that order (you can halve it, this gives about 24 x 70g rolls) knead until it pulls away from the sides and is nice and smooth, about 5-8 mins in my kitchenaid, is not too sticky but a little tacky.
Rest until about 1.75/2 times.
Shape into your balls at about the 70g, proof until fluffy/doubled.
Bake for about 25mins at about 180-200 (Temps are hard because I have a bbq so it makes a difference)

Our pigs are Duke, Hazzard and Boss and our first dog is Daisy heh, the other two dogs are bear and cyborg (and we had a posey who we no longer have) the chooks all have interesting names lol, but I couldn’t tell you all of them! Tails, Rainboe, Foxx and Coconut are our main roosters though!

with your eye if you under a fan in day and/or blowing on you at night while sleeping ,makes you eyes way worse mine used to feel like my eye lashs walking on a rocky road , so sore ,i had the dr in once and asked why so sore he said ' well i am just a dr i dont know everything , maybe because you getting older !!'' lucky for him i was or he would have had a hob nail boot up his ass on way out , but for the week i didnt have my fans on has brezz e was making them sore , but them the lumps and blisters went , and in last 3 year not had a fan above me or facing me and not had them back since ,so was the fans , just thought it might help you to know incase helps you ,
Thank you for sharing :D. We don't have any fans going atm, too cold for that! lol. I am mostly blind in one eye, from a side effect of chicken pox when I was a child, and my eye that I can see out of, I think a lot of it is strain, because it is what I rely on, I have nerve issues with it as well, so it just won't focus sometimes, and I think then I push it, because hey, I want to be able to see and then it objects and stings and waters and urgh hehe :D
