As an Indian, I'd say this could just be the surface. There's a massive operation underneath.
Find that "consultancy" that hired them, jammed them all up in one place & giving them work. (electronics, computers found means Employment scam for tech skilled victims)
Go through financial & payroll records of that consultancy. Find how many of those victims documents were forged/faked to get here.
Find who sweetened their own pockets, to give that consultancy the projects.
You'll find the source of corruption.. it could very well end up being one of your congressmen/woman.
The victims are usually folks with dreams to fight their financial battles back home, and get lured here promising jobs & they probably don't understand how bad this gets until they get here.
These consultancies even withhold 3-6 months of their pay, so that they keep working in those conditions without leaving.
Catching individuals will not help. Nail the consultancies.

This practice, commonly known as bodyshopping, has been prevalent for over three decades. Anyone in the IT industry from India is familiar with it, and there are millions of bodyshopping firms operating at various capacities across the US. These firms often describe themselves as consulting companies, placement agencies, resourcing companies, staffing companies, and so on. They profit by taking 20 to 30% of their consultant's salary from every paycheck for as long as the consultant works for them. There is often no respect, verbal abuse, delayed salary payments, limited or no benefits, unpaid overtime, no paid vacation, sub-standard treatment, and the list goes on. These bodyshoppers often require their consultants to apply for green cards through the company, effectively locking them in for 10 to 15 years, during which the company makes substantial profits. Sad state of affairs!

It's deeply concerning to see the stark contrast in how our government treats legal temporary immigrant workers compared to illegal immigrants. Legal immigrants, especially those on H1B visas, face tremendous challenges. They are housed in cramped, substandard conditions, doing everything they can to stay in the country legally, including focusing their efforts on finding high-paying jobs within a limited 60-day window to find a qualifying job in their specialty field or self deport from the country. They do this without relying on any government assistance, despite paying taxes and following all the rules.
In stark contrast, illegal immigrants receive government-provided benefits such as luxury hotel accommodations, prepaid cell phones, food stamps, and cash assistance. This disparity highlights a significant hypocrisy in our immigration policies.
Legal temporary immigrants are contributing members of our society, paying taxes, and adhering to the law, yet they endure subhuman living conditions and are ineligible for any government assistance. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants who have crossed the border unlawfully receive substantial support.
It's time for the government to take charge and ensure that legal immigrants receive fair treatment. These hardworking individuals deserve better housing, support, and recognition for their contributions. We must protect and support those who follow the rules, not just those who break them. By addressing this imbalance, we can create a more just and equitable system for all.

@@damonkatos4271 We don't. But it is very suspicious that they won't just say where they are from and how they got here. Even if the traffickers are legal, it's very possible they were taking advantage of and bringing over vulnerable undocumented women. But no matter what, it's slavery and it's disgusting.

This is out of proportion ; no one would have been forced ; they appear to be students who were staying at a place while try to find jobs. All of them must be legal. Only things would have been is too many people in one house which had nothing to do with trafficking.. That is the reason no further information was shared in the video

Yeah students who are scammed into thinking they are getting a degree from an accredited university. This scam is happening to thousands in canada. And sucker “students” just want a fast track to legal residency.

Don't cover for the criminals. The police said the operation had other folks in several houses. Without furniture, etc. Don't be too defensive. They didn't say all Indians are holding people against their will. Only these scalawags....let justice take its course. Not every Indian is like Ghandi...

MODUS OPERANDI: 1) Typically, a few people from India who are already working with elite IT companies and are either US citizens, green card holders or on a work (H1B) visa, will pool in money and form their own LLC or LLP and pretend to be an IT consulting firm.
    2) They will then hire and sponsor staff from India to either work under them in their companies or peddle them to other organizations. These new staff have embellished academic qualifications and work experience, making them out to be more knowledgeable and talented than they actually are.
    3) The quid pro quo is that these staff will have to pay a hefty fee at the onset and continue to pay these people a portion of their American salaries (for a few years typically) for jobs that these people helped them find.
