More than 70% IT contract job money goes in the hand of people who sends money out of country. How US economy can grow if this continue? Government keep the eyes closed and not making any regulations in hiring IT contract workers getting paid market competitively to US citizens. Anyone in the IT industry from India is familiar with it, and there are millions of bodyshopping firms operating at various capacities across the US. These firms often describe themselves as consulting companies, placement agencies, resourcing companies, staffing companies, and so on. They profit by taking 20 to 30% of their consultant's salary from every paycheck for as long as the consultant works for them. There is often no respect, verbal abuse, delayed salary payments, limited or no benefits, unpaid overtime, no paid vacation, sub-standard treatment, and the list goes on. Well contractor who live in those place are able to save some money else hard to survive. Heard those houses also have 10-20 ppl sharing same place…. All big company pay $100 -$300 per hour for H1 kind of contract but those contractors hardly get paid $30-$40 per hour. Culprits are subcontract companies who create these problem. MODUS OPERANDI: 1) Typically, a few people from India who are already working with elite IT companies and are either US citizens, green card holders or on a work (H1B) visa, will pool in money and form their own LLC or LLP and pretend to be an IT consulting firm.
    2) They will then hire and sponsor staff from India to either work under them in their companies or peddle them to other organizations. These new staff have embellished academic qualifications and work experience, making them out to be more knowledgeable and talented than they actually are.
    3) The quid pro quo is that these staff will have to pay a hefty fee at the onset and continue to pay these people a portion of their American salaries (for a few years typically) for jobs that these people helped them find.
