Cross Rc makes some killer crawlers but they fly under the radar.
I agree one of my friends has a couple and they seam to be quality

I've been looking at the vanquish phoenix for a while now. I'm going to eventually replace the parts that are required for the kit anyways. The selectable options on the transmission sounds awesome. The bigger problem that I can't decide on is straight axle or portal axle.

I hate that I like the Traxxas TRX4M as much as I do. But for me the FMX24 is the way forward, as long as the aftermarket doesn't ignore it.
I like scx24. Lots of customization, easy to bring anywhere and perform very well for their size
It’s also the scale in which you can do indoor courses very easily .. great versatility
It would've made more sense to have the Element RC Enduro Sendero SE. The TRX4 Chevy with it's big tires and a lift kit makes it more of a mud truck, not a crawler.
I have one of those cherokee bodies, (fastrax) on my trx4. After some headscratching, trial and error. It pivots (brass carpentry hinge) on the rear bumper mount and clips at the front.
Re painted in matt olive green and matt nato black trim. Stripped some old bike lights for LEDs, home made light kit.
Hub extenders. Some body add ons.
Looks the business. Removing front drive shaft for rear drive only drifting experiments...:-D.
Another honorable mention should have been the Element Sendero SE. New axles, new transmission, and all for under $300. I think that should have been in place of the base camp.
The Basecamp is a better performer. It also has much more AF support.

Nice list. I’m just waiting for you to get the new Element SE your going to see the performance & the price is better then almost all 1:10 scale crawlers. I think this crawler will also have a lot of upgrades for it. If co ex with plastic links so I’m looking to replace them asap. I hear the chassis is longer so I don’t think any of the current Element links will fit. I’ll have to measure the links & see if I can find that will fit. But it’s just a matter of time before aftermarket metal high clearance links come out.
FMS is a sleeper, they have quite a few great vehicles lately.
I freaking love my TRX-4 Chevy K10 Highlight. The thing goes everywhere. Just point and shoot. With the light body, wheel extenders Traxxas white springs and brass portal covers, it sidehills pretty darn good. With the brushless set I installed, in 2nd gear, it mobs down the trails at 30+ mph. 😂
Sweet! What brushless setup are you using to get it up to 30+?
How about redcat gen8 v2..? Worth it for buy? Are same with plastic gearbox too?
Great list I want them all 😅 I would give an honorable mention to the axial utb18 I don’t have one but it looks to be the right blend of size and performance. With upgrades coming out more and more I think it will continue to improve and impress. Thanks again and keep it coming!

I need help, please. I want to buy an RC crawler for my son, and he wants openable doors with LED lights that cost up to $250. Which models would you recommend? Also, how can I find all RCs that have an openable door feature and LEDs?

In my country it costs US$275 for the TRX-4m, which is nearly double what it should be. I bought the US$150 FCX24 instead.

G'day RC Review an Kiddos....I've got to say as a pensioner here in Australia. The explosion of small scale Rc Crawlers started me in 2020 with a SCX24. And today its still strong👍 and "it" is what is bringing new blood to the game🩸. And where do most noobies go..."Their local hobby shop". What Traxxas did for mom an pops biz, and giving them exclusive 1-2 months sales before online, probably helped the life blood of our industry keep afloat or a good boost. If only the adults of our sandbox (the big Companys) could come together and make this a standard, I could see a way back for those Shops to pre pandemic Era....which is good for all.
I thought id never afford a Vanquish Kit, due to our exchange rate. But then right at the end of year BANG‼ here ya go builders kits for all, and with help got a portal kit and got 105's with the brand new VXT2 tyres free. These tyres are Gnarly, and with good foams are sticky and soft,.... i mean REALLY a super soft rubber. Big inprovment from the original.

Thats thing is absurd value and performance for that scale.
Enduro & redcat gen8 v2. Both UNDER $300 & are both AS good or better than any 10th scale here.
Still waiting for TRX-4M to arrive in Australia.
TRAXXAS do not care about their Aussie customers.
