"It is based from Stryker"
No it's not. the LAV-AD is based from LAV-25, a recon vehicle family only used by the US Marine Corps in USA (however 82nd Airborne will be using it). LAV-25 design is several decades older than the Stryker. Stryker exist as the American local-produced version of the GDLS Canada LAV III, which is based from MOWAG Piranha Chassis derived from their previous GDLS Canada Coyote reconnaissance vehicle, which itself is based from LAV-25.
TLDR: LAV-AD is part of the family that was the reason Stryker family existed lol
82nd Airborne only used it to evaluate the MPF light tank, they've already retired it after playing around with airdropping it a bunch.
It would be awesome though if gaijin added the entirety of the LAV family of vehicles
@@arcturus960 they probably will add the main vehicles
@@ye_clapped_6974 Stryker is the LAV with better protection but it can't swim.
@@ye_clapped_6974 Bet the lav25 comes in at 7.0
I think it's actually not a Stryker hull. I'm pretty sure that hull is called an LAV.
Stryker is based off the LAV hull
@@thegamingzilla6269
Still not a styker hull, styker hull is heavily modified for a different purpose and it is also equiped with modular armor, this thing doesn't...
@@thegamingzilla6269 plus the LAV is used for amphibious rolls by the marines while the stryker belongs to the army
@@thegamingzilla6269 I think that’s the joke?!
@@thegamingzilla6269 the Stryker is based off the Canadian LAV III, but the LAV-AD is based off the LAV-25
2:10: "But I guess the US Army couldn't even come close to wasting as much money as the fucking.... " 🤣
Who was he talking about?
The US navy with the Zumwalt Class DDGs lol, audio must have cut out somehow
[REDACTED] by bing chilling
The hull ain’t even a Stryker/LAV III Hull, this is from a LAV 25/LAV 2
FIM-92E/F is a 1990s Stinger, K model was introduced in 2018. Lav-AD uses purely passive tracking whilst ADATS can be seen by RWR as its Search Radar will show up
But it's a search ping for the adats, which many smart pilots will ignore
10:28 actually one of my favorite lineups is usa 10.3, u get more downtiers than uptiers at this br because of turms spam.
A7D, F8E, YAH64, M1A1, XM975, Merkava Mk3d (this is a sniper tank so can be swapped with M1128), and M3A3.
once i unlock the a10 ill swap it for the a7 and once i unlock the LAV ill add it to the empty crew slot i used to have for the HSTVL at 10.3
Lav ad is used by The marines not The army
what's the difference
One eats crayon and the other don't, idk I'm not American but that's all I heard about them
@@isthissomesortofmeme8932 the Marines are a subsection of the US Navy. They're US shock troops that are capable of operating independently for 30 days. Typically, they are more lightly equipped, faster, and better trained than the typical army infantry division, but they don't carry the same heavy equipment. They can be deployed for 30 days by the president without approval from Congress, but to operate beyond that, congress needs to declare war. As the name implies, they attack coastal targets. Unlike the army, much of Marine equipment is multi-role and doesn't need to be air-mobile.
@@AHappyCub You're not wrong. Marines are generally younger, more stupid, more tenacious, and physically stronger than their army counterparts. We do eat crayons, it is true, but the biggest difference is our culture. The Marine Corps tends to attract people that want to shoot people and blow shit up, while the army advertises more useful things like money, education, or job skills. So, yeah, we definitely eat crayons and children like they say.
@@CharliMorganMusic Physically stronger...how cute. I highly doubt they are physically stronger. Have them change out a 4 block section of track in 125 degree heat and palletize an entire side of track under the same conditions. Army has beaten the corp out on best man competitions for years. The only thing the Corp is good for now is light infantry tactics as they lost their heavy armor. My skills set when I was in was on the Tank. Skillset outside now that I retired: EDC handler, Executive protection. But I can get you an entire box of green crayons (joking). All jokes aside they are the youngest of the bunch with a short life expectency due to their psychotic behavior.
I've been having great success with this thing. the gun is fantastic at killing tanks and the missiles make shooting down A-10's brain dead easy.
"LAV is based from Stryker"
*Angry Canadian Sound*
What I think they should have done is put the LAV next to the M247 in the tech tree so it’s optional to research. Same with newer tech trees, instead just make them splinter off the main one.
This is the reason why I support you sako, straight to the point & no BS

The LAV and the Stryker are completely different vehicles. The former is only used by the US Marines and the latter by the Army. The LAV is amphibious while the Stryker is not [without preparation]. A Stryker can survive a hit from a small explosion, but the LAV cannot. One of them was built for Marine light armor reconnaissance units and the other for brigade combat teams.
The Stryker has an AD System called the M-SHORAD. It has a 30mm gun with an M240, 7.62mm machine gun. The Shorad can carry a Stinger pod and 2 Hellfire missles that can be used for both Air and ground targets.
I would 100% grind this but I really do not want to go down the entire US tree.
I only finally got to the end of the RU tree after f^ck knows how long.
I just don’t have that kind of time nor the willingness to go through the painful tiers again
In the US it’s all of them. The most fun you’ll have is with the sherman spam.
Did look though the comments but the 14.5mm guns mounted on russian tanks can one shot you, so keep your driver side in mindas that happens a lot. aside from that you have the ability to deny many enemies with the gua and rockets. my two cents
next update or sale when ?
Sale in April (end of WWII)
I wish i could play this vehicle.
This thing is pretty fun lol. Flank ez as it is fast and the hydra can pen turrets of mbt. It can get u in the a-10 nice and fast
it's just a shame that it's near useless as a spaa because the stingers take a life time to lock on.
I just have em alway on and I’m good
I finally got the lav ad and ...Its awful
Cant radar or missile lock helis, the stingers cant hit anything, the gun has no tracers making it hard to shoot at targets that you cant lock
What's the point
Not a Stryker hull. The Stryker is a larger, heavier Army vehicle. It is a LAV hull. The Marines have been using the LAV chassis for a long time.
Politics in videos! I love it!
Remember, is an AA
The first Abrams isn't good? Are you just bad then?
I keep hearing its shit but its like the only abrams where im decently positive in.
It was shit before, and compared to the others its still is, but it did get buffed late 2021 iirc where Abrams armor suddenly start bouncing shots
might be the m1a1 which isn't that good anymore following the introduction of m900 and the m1a1 hc. I know its still useable and I myself use it but theres more meta options.
Man, a lot of "I think..." and not much "I know".
Its not based on the Stryker Hull...Thats already false. Its based on the Marine Corp LAV 25 System. There is a huge difference between the LAV AD and the Stryker's Version the SHORAD.
Based on the Stryker hull. Hahaha Nope research is required bud
my Dads van has more HP lmao
Nice Intro dude 👍
premiere squad
A wise man once said it is better to say nothing and appear to be stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. The complete ignorant exposition about this vehicle and the appropriation of the U.S. military in this video is a shining example.
He is a very young man and he is letting some sort of annyonce seep into his attitude for this video.
How can the US Army can piss away money in.... an armored car with a turret that contains a bunch of already-existing air defense weapons like the gun from the Harrier, the Stinger missile, and the Hydra rocket, which the money to develop had already been paid for. On a chassis that already existed.
...when it's a Marine Corps vehicle? Literally the only thing they had to pay to develop was a metal box that spins in the space of a LAV-25 turret that holds 3 existing weapons. This is the worst example of military procurement grift you could have chosen at any point in human history.
It wasn't in service for very long. Once the threat of Russia disappeared, they decided to put the Avenger system on the humvee, so when it was designed, there was a role for it to fill and I wouldn't be surprised if we see it make a comeback in some form.
It also didn't cost a lot of money to develop. They already had the LAV-25 and all they had to do was mount stingers in a turret that, again, already existed. Everything on this vehicle already existed, including the gun, so it was very cheap.
@@CharliMorganMusic That's what I'm saying. This was cheap and awesome. M-SHORAD on the Stryker is kinda sorta similar. But the Marine Corps needs far more AA than ever, being we're supposed to fight on islands in the Pacific now. That means shoot down ballistic missiles, fending off PLAAF raids, and more. We have nothing but stingers right now.
That's because The U.S. Army created the Stryker M-SHORAD ADA system. It has a stinger pod and 2 Hellfire missles with a 30mm gun and M240, 7.62mm machine gun. The M-SHORAD is replacing the Avenger ADA system that is seriously outdated in terms of firepower, tech and survivability.
LAV-AD is based on LAV-25 and is used by the Marines not the Army for god sake inform yourself
I dont think he understands that the Stryker system has an ADA version called the M-SHORAD that contains 2 Hellfire missles and a stinger pod and a 30mm gun. its secondary gun is an M240 Machine gun.
battlefield 4 vibes
Nothing about this vehicle required new technology. They kept the same turret and used weapon systems that already existed.
It was a joke about the US mil complex wasting money on stupid stuff. The audio clip cut off for some reason, it went on to mock the USN about the Zumwalt class DDGs
@@SAKOSNIPER stupid commenters they'll just never get you
You ok? You seem kinda out of it on this video
Is it me or do you just seem bored of making videos? The LAV-AD isn't based on the Stryker, it has a "anti-aircraft modular turret, I guess" and has a "25mm minigun type thing" and a choice between StinGGGGGer air to air missiles and Hydra rocket pods. Kinda through me off there with all that, wasn't expecting you to stoop that low.
Why does your sentences suddenly cut so often?
Fucked up the editing. Used a new software, and didn't realise it cut the Audio in places. My apologies!
