      That brings up a point I've wondered about - seems like basically all modern F1 drivers learn to speak relatively fluent English, even though only a minority of them are actually Anglo.
      I wonder - is that like a prerequisite for making it big in F1? Presumably they have to communicate with engineers and teams and media and so forth, that often hail from all around the world, with English as the common tongue.
      Makes me think that a skilled and talented driver who just can't get his head around learning a new language might be excluded from a professional career as a result? Or are there exceptions that prove this assumption of mine to be false?
      Or is it just that Europeans generally just kinda know English and once they get into pro racing their language skills are honed just by being around so many anglos and english speakers? Not to mention that high level motorsport drivers are kind of geniuses in a way, so they're the types to be able to learn new things quickly and effectively.
      I guess a lot of international high powered careers are like that, but I'm just curious if that's something aspiring drivers are conscious of. Seems like there are teams that simply wouldn't be able to work with a driver who isn't functionally fluent in English.

    • @princeendymion9044
      @princeendymion9044 Před 2 lety +9

      @@murrothbro195 I think in europe (mostly Western) english is taught to a majority of the population because of its use internationally (The Dutch have like a ridiculously high percentage of non-english people who can hold a converstaion in english, it's like 95% or something). I would assume a prerequisite for being able to be selected into the junior Formula's would be your capacity to speak english well. If you weren't brilliant in it, of course they would give you a bit of slack while you're young but you would have to quickly learn since most F1 teams are based in the UK, hence they speak english. I think it would be the same thing if you were trying to join say Ferrari. Everyone who joins can speak at least a bit of Italian.

Oversteer works like this: you drive down the same bit of road, you turn the wheel but the back car comes around like this and you go off the road, crash into a tree, and you die.
