Best Beaches In Puerto Rico | Playa La Esperanza In Manati

Some of the most unique places in the world are on the road less traveled. Today, we’re going to show you our favorite beach in Puerto Rico, Playa la Esperanza in Manatí.
Playa la Esperanza is located about an hour west of San Juan right outside the town of Manatí. It’s actually inside of an expansive nature preserve that includes a visitor center inside an old sugar plantation.
You can even find tours and special nature activities to do in Hacienda la Esperanza on Paralanaturaleza.org. The long beach to the left of the swimming area provides a rugged contrast to the protected cove. This beach is covered in colorful smooth stones and even has patches of black sand.

How far can you take the car? Is the gate open ever?

You can drive right to the grass parking lot. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes. Open Friday to Sunday in the winter

@@natalieandgabriel after I wrote this I did some digging. I guess and if my research is correct. The gate does open up but only when the reserve is open and you can drive your car down. I’m going here this Sunday. If I remember I’ll come back and let you know.
