Not really, safer than anywhere I lived in NY or TX. Plus PR doesn't have school shootings. So as long as youre not in the drug scene it is safer than most US cities.

Hi! The ferry is safe. Do you have a plan for transportation once you get there? The Vieques ferry does not allow rental cars so you would have to rent a car on Vieques and bring a car seat. I don’t think the públicos (taxi buses) in Vieques would be very safe or easy to deal with a carseat

We would recommend staying a night in Guanica or Aguadilla for a more hassle free way to enjoy clear beaches

@natalieandgabriel yes. Would probably have to rent a car there. However, after considering it all, may push off Vieques for another time.

@natalieandgabriel thank you for this recommendation. I have actually already been to both of these beaches and was looking for something I have not been to yet; so now looking into Puerto Nuevo in Vega Baja as an option.

Hi! You can take them in the accessible trails in el Portal Visitor Center. The other trails would be impossible due to stairs and uneven terrain. You could maybe attempt taking a stroller to Angelito Trail, but it would be difficult.

Hi! Check out our video kid friendly things in Puerto Rico. I have heard the biobay in la Parguera has boats, so that would be the best one to do with a toddler. As far as I know, the other biobays are all kayak

Hi! There are a lot of hotels to choose from in Aguadilla and San Juan. For a swimmable beach in San Juan the best hotel is Caribe Hilton. There are also some nice airbnbs in el Yunque. We live here so we actually haven’t stayed in that many hotels!

@@natalieandgabriel thank you. The last time I stayed at the Caribe Hilton was over 10 yrs ago. My family mostly lives in Bayamon. In the past I have stayed in Isla Verde, by the airport, because it is by the beach, but I could get to San Juan and Bayamon easily. I’m just debating whether I should do something different explore and the island.

Hi! We would recommend an area with calm beaches like Cabo Rojo or Guanica. If you want to stay in San Juan, the Caribe Hilton could be a good choice.
