Do you have to be vegan to join green runners?
@@Jackssw You don't need to be vegan. To quote their website: "you don’t need to be vegan or even vegetarian (although you certainly can be!). But we suggest that people try to reduce their consumption of meat down to 1 or 2 days per week, and in general focus on higher quality, locally sourced produce wherever possible."
I have heard three interviews with Jasmin, and I have learned to admire many things about her in addition to the Barkley. Thank you for giving her the opportunity to talk about some of her core values and priorities.
She's so multi-faceted..the gear philosophy is really interesting and made me think quite a bit about how I get can more years out of what I currently have

YES. Jasmin's message of support for ethical and sustainable purchasing and travel decisions related to our running endeavors is SPOT ON and much needed. We need more genuine dirtbags in our sport, repairing their clothes, accepting stains on an otherwise very functional shirt, carpooling or biking to a race. There has been a growing culture centered around the newest and "greatest" tech and gear in ultra running. Do we not remember the roots of our American ultras just 15-20 years ago? Consumerism was seen as a flaw and a weakness by so many, now we embrace the newest $1000 Garmin when we already have 4 other capable watches, flying and having grand "experiences" at every single race of the year... damn. I have heard her loud and clear. Thank you!
It’s a righteous message..I love it..makes me think critically about how I can do better..starts with ourselves
I will take a closer look at my own habits. Strength training in another dimension.

Listening to Jasmin in this interview kept me smiling, even through the bits where I was tearing up. She seems like such a lovely, thoughtful person.
And, despite the gulf between her achievements and anything I've done, a lot of what she said about the running was so relatable, it made me keen to get back out. Also loved to hear what she said about little girls being inspired.

Fascinating to watch someone with such humility - as a marketer it seemed almost unfathomable to you how much she’s not into capitalizing on the moment. My last race was on a very wet and muddy course and it left my uppers in bad shape. I am super pumped to learn about the green runners. I will definitely be doing some patching to get some more use out of my trail shoes!

I was wondering if you could interview Jasmins husband Konrad, it would be so great for the outsiders to get a better feeling on how the camp life looks life, how was the atmosphere what do people do in the meantime between loops! I will make sure my nieces are aware of what Jasmin has accomplished! If there is a person I would love to have a selfie with its Jasmin! Thanks Jasmin!

Great how the Green Runner 4 pillars are to basically act like you’re poor. So yay I have always been doing it right via not being able to afford new things or travel. 🎉
I want to run the Barkley race I think I could do very well. If only they made the invitations easier for us normal folk
Laz has said many times that if you can’t figure out how to apply then you have no business competing at the Barkley Marathons.

They should let you just for this comment so you could find some humility. It takes most professional runners several tries just to finish 3-4 loops. She finished only 3 loops last year and was in the top six. The vast majority of serious runners get a DNF.

hahahaha...fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your perspective), I grew up in a household where the parents almost never turned the heat on..we used winter gear instead..I have my own house now and just never changed!

Once the race is made harder next year, it will be too hard for girls , I'm not trying to be sexiest, it's just a fact , with 5 finishers , the race will have 5 extra kms , one extra page ,and more climbing time next year ...lex wont want finishers next year .

Plant based diets hurt the environment more that meat based diets. Just sayin’. What she did was terrific and I was riveted especially in those last 2 loops.
She had me interested until she started preaching about her green this and green that and Vegas and vegan that and how other people should eat what she eats and drinks what she drinks and blah blah blah blah blah
