Another footballer worth getting on if you're looking for guests is George Green who now plays for my club Ossett United near Wakefield. He had the world at his feet when Everton snapped him up from Bradford City for 1 million, he was touted as the next Gazza, but he was only young and his head was turned by the drugs. He lost his career and nearly his life to suicide when he lay on the tracks at Mirfield waiting for the train to come along but fate saved him when that train was cancelled. He's got a young family now and is doing positive things with his life.
I played in the game with him when all scouts come to valley parade to watch him in a reserve game. I think he was 15/16 I was told to make him look good ….fuck me he didn’t need me he was a bag of tricks. Bradford city then sold him to Everton a few weeks later. Good to hear he’s doing well now 🙏🏻💙👊🏻

I remember that lad George Green a tragic waste of talent.
Glad to hear he has got his life back on track.

What a character and a very enjoyable podcast this one. Much better when they are real like this lad and not the Carlisle lad from the one previous. This was a good 8/10 podcast.
