  • #6 in my Let's talk babywearing series!
    This time I'm talking about backcarrying a newborn, using a woven wrap.
    Showing a santatoss and hipscoot.
    I'm using a long woven wrap by ‪@OschaSlingsOfficial‬
    Always:
    - practice with a doll, stuffed animal, or big bag of rice first
    - practice over a soft surface
    - if possible practice with a second adult as a spotter
    - contact a babywearing educator if you prefer 1-on-1 (can be online!) help
    I offer online consultations too :)

    With 18 month old twins and a 9 month old… I’m so glad I found your channel!
    I’ve tried several modern carriers but nothing is more comfortable than this style of carrying. Thank you!

    My son is just three weeks old, and I love carrying him on my front. But I'm so looking forward to carrying him on my back... As soon as he will have enough head control, I will start.

    Amazing tutorial, thank you! My baby is 5.5 months old and sometimes he really fusses in the wrap, I think maybe being on the back might help.

    Ik heb deze video zo vaak gekeken, nu lukt het. Heel erg bedankt
    Eigen aanvullende tips. Voor een gooi over de rechterschouder (misschien hebben anderen er nog wat aan of kun je dit erbij zetten bij een volgende video, correct me if I'm wrong!)
    Begin bij de beentjes en hou die goed omhoog. Anders krijg je het zitje niet goed. Vooral bij de knie holtes en bij het nekje moet je de doek iets strakker houden. Zodra je een bundeltje hebt gooi je de doek naar links over de baby heen. Dan pak je het bundeltje met je rechterhand vast met je duim omhoog gekeerd, alsof je het stuur van de auto vast hebt. Dan heb je je hand gelijk goed voor de "gooi." Goed ter hoogte van het neusje vastpakken inderdaad. Dan als je gaat gooien je oriënteren op de linker wang van de baby (vanuit de baby gezien) die jouw rechterwang aantikt. Als je laat zakken, maak je niet teveel zorgen over het pakket. Dat stel je later bij. Dat het zitje goed blijft moet je wel steeds controleren. Dat lukt beter als de knieholtes hoger zitten dan de billen. Echt een kikkertje. Dat de doek er straks bij het omslaan om de beentjes er wel tussen gaat klemmen en het billetje er niet tussenuit piept lukt dan beter. Over-onder en dan klemmen tussen de benen. Als je geen knoop doet maar de uiteinden door de schouderbanden wilt halen doe je dat van buiten naar binnen en dan naar beneden.

    Really find it hard that the fabric stays the right place at the knees... And can't really get it up there again behind my back, once it has moved... Any additional tricks? (Or probably just practice...)
    Also, my baby always wakes up if I try to tighten after she's fallen asleep! 🤪🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 2 lety +1

      It moves away from the knees when you tighten it too much so probably just try to find the perfect amount of tension to keep it up. Also try to make sure the knees are higher than the bum 🍀

    I Love how easy this czcams.com/users/postUgkxvAj3godqGAIP5rApM1laH767JGtPG1-h carrier is to adjust from my friend to me taking turns holding the baby! It provides great support on my back too! This has definitely made shopping easier! I always get asked where I get it too!

    How wide of fabric do you use and is there special kind you use. My mom made my wrap and it works great for the front wrap but seems to make baby's legs red or seem pinched with this style.

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 2 lety

      I use woven fabric, the width of most woven wraps is between 70 and 85cm. If the fabric is a bit thicker it might cause less punctual pressure around the knee. Try not to pull the edge too tight

    How do you do that the fabric under child's bottom Is nicely spread from knee to knee, with my baby IT always gets narrow and uncovers its bottom. my mum can't look at me trying to wrap my son and says that he Will fall down from the wrap :(

    • @Wrapyouinlove

      This is a woven wrap, (so it's not stretchy or jersey, ) 100% cotton in a jacquard weave.

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 3 lety +4

      With this carry you need a woven wrap, which is not stretchy. Your boba probably is a Jersey/ stretchy which needs multiple layers to add enough support. 🍀

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 11 měsíci

      @TalBarr I can do a basic rucksack with the knot in front with a size 4, but if I want to pull the tails through the shoulderstraps, I need a bit more length. It depends on your body size and shape, though.

    • @Wrapyouinlove
      @Wrapyouinlove  Před 2 lety +2

      No, a moby is a stretchy/ jersey wrap and you would need a woven wrap for a backcarry like this. Great next step after using your moby .
