      With respect, u ever seen LeBron look helpless? I have. Conversely.I watched mj since he smashed the nba stars as amateur,though I was too young to get it then. All the way thru his wizard days..never once did he look helpless. And has anybody ever actually put on a pair of the first Jordans..?..they were so heavy I could barely move. So he did all that in a league of dirty playing monsters with concrete blocks on his feet. There's no real debate here. He abused the league. And those guys in that league....would have abused LeBron.

    For those that have never seen MJ in person play, these highlights are just a small fraction of what he did in every game that he played in because he gave 110% of himself and gave his heart and soul to the game of basketball....He gave his best even when he had the flu/food poisoning (his stats for that game were insane!)...I can't imagine someone having the combination of skill level, fundamentals, athletic abilities, quickness, speed, agility, creativity + artistry combined with MJ's extreme competitiveness, mental toughness, physical toughness + endurance and clutch abilities....and then use all of those traits to earn the accolades, awards, accomplishments, and achievements in just 13 FULL seasons...that the person wouldn't be from planet Earth...MJ was like seeing a UFO, you know you witnessed something unique and special, but you can't explain it and can't find the right words to explain what you saw without sounding like a looney toon from planet Mars....

    Jordan is the goat. Lebron only has longevity. That being said, lebron is also playing in a much less physical era. Not giving it 100% every night like Jordan did, resting on defense unlike Jordan nor did he play as many games a season as Jordan.

Jordan has a better record against 50+ win teams 60+ win teams. He didnt lose more than 2 games in a row for like a decade. Magic. I'm a Celtics fan down to the green blood. Magic is constantly in the running on most fans' goat list. My issue with Lebron is, that he seems weak of character, sort of a professional snowflake. He has won the titles but he chased them down moving from team to team. Imagine if the likes of Bird, Magic, and Jordan did that?

    Over 25 years later and Jordan's moves still look futuristic today. In order to accurately compare their mixtapes (hypothetically), you have to ask yourself if 25 years from now, people will be watching LeBron highlights and marvel at anything he's doing. LeBron has never and will never be able to do the things Jordan was routinely able to do on the basketball floor. That's what separated Jordan from everyone else, including Kobe. Jordan was able to do with one hand, what Kobe was only able to do with both.

  • @henflow8807
    @henflow8807 Před 2 lety +34

    Jordan's game looks so clean cause he's likely the most fundamentally sound player ever. You can get extremely far on pure fundamentals, look at how well Luka is doing. He's not very athletic but he has very good fundamentals. Now, Jordan has both godlike fundamentals and athleticism. He has a 48" vertical while having one of the quickest first steps ever. Then add a ridiculously competitive mindset and you get the best player ever.
    You can say LeBron's competition was tougher, but let's not forget LeBron has had some of the greatest supporting cast ever. He was the first to create a Superteam. His Heat team was stacked with 3 allstars. LeBron himself, Dwade (3rd greatest SG of all time), and Bosh (11x straight perennial allstar). But LeBron lost to a Mavs team that only had 1 single allstar while LeBron himself got outplayed by the Mavs 35 year old bench player Jason Terry.
    Jordan has only had 1 allstar teammate his entire career and simply having that 1 allstar teammate, he basically had the entire league on lock. And he would NEVER get outplayed by an opposing teams bench player. Jordan is 6-0 NBA finals, 4-0 Olympics/FIBA gold, 1-0 NCAA Finals. He always performed on the biggest stage. LeBron loses more than he wins, and gave team USA their first Bronze Medals since allowing pros to play. Even just looking at all the analytical routes, and statistically, Jordan beats LeBron.

    As an old dude that has lived through the Jordan era and now the LBJ era, I gotta tell you-LBJ ain’t it! Watching highlight videos can make anybody look amazing so I can understand how you’re still not convinced Jordan and LBJ is a close call for who’s the GOAT. But forget about Jordan’s impressive hang time and spectacular plays….! Jordan was impossible to stop in the clutch and his defence was on the same level, all while he was only 6’6” and 190 lbs. and eventually topping out at 220 lbs. Just before he retired I could see the NBA was changing to the game we see today and it began losing viewership. By the time LBJ arrived, the NBA was in transition from the classic hard-nosed defensive game to the over-officiated softer uptempo game that allowed for more opportunities for scoring and getting to the rim. To longtime fans, the game looked watered down because it was clearly about making it easier to score and harder to defend because hand checking and aggressive defence was no longer allowed (more technical/flagrant fouls). I almost completely stopped watching basketball from 2005 to 2014 because the game became about trying to make stars and building players up to be more than what they were instead of letting their game speak for itself. Then the icing on the cake was the ridiculous media circus of LBJ’s “decision” in 2010 to go to the Miami Heat with Bosh and Wade. It was clear (to older fans) that the NBA had become a soap opera and was desperately trying to increase viewership. On top of the new contracts allowing for players to be more in control of where they go on a near yearly basis, the NBA became what it was aiming for; a league designed to captivate young fans who want to see more contrived spectacular plays and have no long-term attention span. By the time Steph Curry’s 3-pt sniper style earned him noterietay, the NBA added analytics and came up with the notion that if a team became more proficient at shooting 3’s it makes more sense to attempt a 3 rather than scoring a mid-range 2 or fighting to get to the rim. Interior defences became easier to penetrate because guarding the 3 became more important and the era of the big man (PF’s and C’s) was over. Positionless basketball was born and a game revolving around athleticism and 3-pt shooting became the standard. This meant a big strong player like LBJ became more unstoppable because he isn’t a true 3-pt shooter, he’s a slasher that thrives on getting to the rim off of spread defences and weak coverage, which is now how basketball is played. With no true C’s defending the key, it became a red carpet to the rim and “King” James was born! So essentially, the NBA made it easier for mid/close range shooters and made it easier to have a longer/healthier career because nobody can body you and the 3-pt shot is a preferred contactless shot. It’s even now a foul if a defender is in a shooter’s landing area-mix that with LBJ’s synonymous flopping (something unheard of in basketball before he existed) and we have a ridiculous candidate for the GOAT! Add the shot clock reset on offensive rebounds which gives the offensive team another 14 secs (a total of 38 seconds on a possession) to make another shot attempt….you’re talking about LBJ being spoon fed to “greatness” in HIS ERA!!! Guys like LBJ and Giannis would never be considered some of the games greats if basketball returned to its original style at its peak popularity and they had to play their listed positions. There have been several “LBJ” type players in the 90’s such as; Glen Robinson, Anfernee Hardaway, Tracey McGrady, Mitch Richmond, Shawn Kemp, Larry Bird, Vince Carter, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Latrell Sprewell, Dominique Wilkins, Tom Chambers, Cedric Ceballos, Byron Russell….etc. All those players were NBA legends that had the exact same playing style as LBJ, played with a straight 24 sec shot clock, dealt with TRUE big men C’s, fought off hand checks…..and because your generation didn’t watch those guys play against Michael Jordan on a weekly basis or doesn’t know they existed in a MUCH tougher era, you believe LBJ is a phenom?!?! Lol. The only category LBJ rises above the rest is his fitness, player longevity and total points scored-that’s not greatness, it’s indicative of the rules facilitating more scoring and sports medicine knowledge that didn’t exist 25 years ago! Jordan was well-known for pulling all-nighters before games, smoking cigars, gambling, drinking, playing 18 holes of golf and fooling around with women incessantly….before games and still dominating the NBA. He didn’t even start weightlifting until the infamous Bulls/Pistons series when the Pistons created their top secret “Jordan rules” to nullify his ability to penetrate the key! Look up “the Jordan rules” on CZcams and you’ll get a real eye-opener! Most people place LBJ in the top 3 best players, I place him in the top 10 and definitely not the top 3! When you have NBA legends that are still part of the NBA as basketball analysts, they watched and played against Michael Jordan….trust them when they say there may never be another player like Michael Jordan especially in a modern game that has lost half its viewership and has completely changed to a game that facilitates scoring to create the false hype that the next “Jordan” is LBJ.

    I'll say this. Like who you like, love who you love, but when LeBron's career highlights are shown, there will be much flopping and "time off" while Jordan never flopped and had to be forced to stay on the sidelines even with a broken foot. That's the difference between the GOATS of yesterday and the new guys. Jordan broke his foot and went against doctor and coach's and owner's orders because he wanted to play. Bird wrecked his finger before he played his first professional game and then wrecked his back and still played as an elite player. LeBron gets bumped and flops. Jordan got mugged by the Bad Boy Pistons every opportunity they had. They physically assaulted him, dragged him down and slammed him, slapped him, punched him, tried to take his head off and still he got up and played. Bird fractured his cheekbone and came back with double vision to lead his team to the win. LeBron has never done this. Jordan was clutch, Bird was clutch, LeBron cracks under the pressure. Can't be the GOAT if you can't deliver when the game is on the line.

    You didn’t get emotional because deep down inside you know MJ is the GOAT 🐐. When Lebron entered the league they changed rules and made it more offensive friendly. Defense doesn’t even exist anymore in todays NBA. MJ dominated the BIG MEN era where you constantly played against 7’2”+ footers and 6’11”+ power forwards in the league. MJ won a title in North Carolina, won 2 gold medals 🏅, won three titles in a row, retired for almost 2 years, came back and won 3 more in a row. Retired came back at 38 years old played for the worst team in the league and was still one of the best players on the league averaging 23/6/5 with very limited minutes and on his last year at 40 years old he played in all 82 games. At almost 39 years old he dropped 51 points. You won’t admit it publicly but you know MJ is the GOAT.

    I’ve never met anyone that’s watched both play game in game out in real time believe Lebron is in the same building as Jordan. And it should be obvious to all. I can’t imagine any skill that Lebron has the edge on. Maybe, just maybe a better passer. Certainly facilitator by nature but I don’t know if that necessarily translates into better skilled at it.
    He also was a bigger winner, more accolades, and in 5-6 seasons less. Far better footwork and fundamentals. Dominated the league by a long shot for at least a decade. I would argue that at no time in his career, Lebron has not dominated the league (Kobe and KD). At least not to Jordan’s level during his era.
    Seriously. What skill is it that Lebron has over Jordan? Watching both play makes it crystal clear.

    One of my earliest memories was getting yelled at by my dad and brother for cheering for Michael Jordan when he was playing the Cavs. Bc I was born in ‘86 30 miles west of CLE and you NEVER cheer against the Cavs (even tho by the time I started having memories, Michael Jordan was EVERYWHERE, ALL-THE-TIME. Still, from that moment, Mark Price and the Cavs were my first love (Price was Steph Curry b4 Steph Curry, ask Steve Kerr.) Unfortunately, MJ single handedly torched Price and those great Cavs teams from the playoffs over and over. And it’s almost all bc of MJ that they’ve been forgotten in time (although I finally see guys bringing up Mark Price in the “most underrated NBA player of all time” conversations. He truly was one of the best PG never talked about anymore) Well, when I was 16, I heard of a local dude name Lebron James, and when I was 17 the Cavs actually drafted him! I then spent the next two decades cheering for Lebron to become the GOAT. He’s not. And he will never have a mix tape like this bc the reality is, Lebron simply never had the skill level of Michael or Kobe to pull off 90% of these basketball moves in this MJ mixtape. I’ve watched Lebron mixtapes (he’s now played 294 more games than Jordan, so if it’s possible to make a mixtape of Lebron that is just as impressive, there is more than enough game film to do it.) But everytime I watch a Lebron mixtape, I’m amazed for 5 min, and then it’s just the same hard dunks over and over again, with a couple nice passes mixed in, and I’m off to a different video. This Jordan Ultimate Highlight video is 30mins long and I’ve watched it easily over 100 times in the last 2 years. I also started playing basketball again bc MJ has those moves that get me feeling something

    One of the main differences between them is that Jordan didn't need a super team to do what he did like LeBron. Bron may have made it the playoffs without a superteam but to win it all he had to go to another team and make a team no one could beat. Jordan did it by himself, yes he had pippen but he really didn't need him. And ive lived long enough to watch both and in my humble opinion LeBron isn't even close to Jordan. A few takeaways and clear ups for this reaction. First and foremost I respect his opinion. Everyone is entitled to one. I get it, he didn’t see Mike play live and so he can’t truly understand. But I’ve noticed a pattern in probably about the last year, year and a half with the young cats. They’re realizing that Jordan is the GOAT and they have mixed feelings. Some are in denial, some give in and admit it. But you can look at their face when they watch this mixtape and you can see reality set in. Lots of head shaking, open mouths, pausing and rewinding. The proof is in the reaction, not necessarily what comes out of the mouth. Body language doesn’t lie. See, as great as LeBron is, he doesn’t generate that awe that Jordan does. The eye test alone doesn’t support Jordan being number 2 to LeBron, let alone stats. LeBron is not doing any of the things you are seeing in this mixtape. LBJ is a power player, not a finesse player. He doesn’t have the hang time or the jelly’s. His game just isn’t close to being as aesthetically pleasing as MJ’s. There is already a LeBron mixtape, and while good, it’s not on this level. So no when LeBron’s new mixtape comes out after his retirement, people will not have the same reaction as this (7:00). Lastly, pointing out MJ’s balding head (9:38) and saying “I don’t know what you’re waiting for” is a terrible look for a LeBron fan. LeBron’s been balding for over decade now and still won’t give it up. Mike never really rocked that balding look on the court too long. He shaved it and started a trend. Men with full heads of hair were shaving their heads. LeBron has a bald triangle in the back of his head right now and still won’t come home because he’s so sensitive. Fake hair falling out while he’s on the court! So, yeah, this non debate was settled long ago.

    if you get a chance to watch the 'Michael Jordan BEST rare Video ever (Voyager)' highlight video here on youtube, you'll find that one even more compelling as it shows just how much tougher MJ had it going through the Eastern Conference against the toughest bullies in the league....fyi...Isiah Thomas said that during the Bad Boy Pistons dynasty run, MJ averaged 37 pts/game and then some nights MJ would get hot! and that was during the 'Jordan Rules' era where coach Chuck Daly told his Pistons players to punish MJ anytime he had the ball or took it to the rack....talk about a beat down! MJ used those experiences to get physically and mentally stronger so that he could withstand the punishment and carry his Bulls team over the hurdle and make it to the Finals....he didn't quit, cry, or complain, he just got himself and his teammates to toughen up and come back better than ever and exact revenge on Bad Boy Pistons, which is why the Bulls swept the series in 4 straight in '91.

    Jordan dominated on offense and defense. In 1988 for example he was the MVP, the best scorer and Defense Player of the Year. He scored at will on offense and played lockdown defense. He scared other players. If you were thought to be good he would humiliate you. He won three championships in a row, retired on top of his game, played baseball for a couple of years, and then came back to basketball to win another three championships in a row. Jordan destroyed the game and at the same time he was a cultural icon. He was the signature shoe and he made long shorts and bald heads cool. He was huge all across the world. I grew up in Germany and my parents knew nothing about Basketball because the sport isn't that popular here. But they knew Michael Jordan because in the 90s you couldn't escape him. He was the Muhammad Ali of his time, he was a part of global pop culture.

    MJ had next level handle but his mindset was to never use unnecessary moves. He was also an incredible passer and averaged nearly 6 assist per game in a defensive era with minimum 3 point shooting which leads to easy assist.

    I love basketball but when it comes to Jordan ain't no body putting on a show like him he was just spectacular to watch the man was a killer on the court

    I'm Lebron age, been watching him his whole career. I'm big Lebron Fan, but he is a top 5. But MJ is the GOAT, MJ had infinite moves in the pocket, he was able to do whatever he wants, and you watched on this clip. Lebron can only go to the paint hard, and in some games he comes onfire and make some shots, if someone guard him good on the perimeter he can't do too much.

    Seen all 3 MJ, Kobe, James in their prime. Even in today's game, if I had to pick one player to build a team around it's MJ. He was ruthless, never took a second off. When you're like that, no one can criticize you and you can criticize everyone especially your teammates. They have no choice but to step up their game.

      And that's why Jordan was able to win with the least amount of talent. He didn't need to run to another team, city or superstar. He just needed a wingman not "wingmens"...
      ... Jordan story/quote: Bulls were in the pregame getting ready before they headed out onto the court and a player says "c'mon guys bring your 'A' game tonight". Jordan says "bring your 'A' game? Just bring a game"...

    MJ is poetry in motion el duderino. Don't care about his 6 rings, his attitude or anything else. MJ is basketball my dude. No player is going to have the impact Jordan had in world basketball ever again. Maybe Jordan is more than basketball itself. Whole countries in Europe worshipped Jordan as a God. Back then, when numbers were not as important. It is style, finesse and other things us old school weirdos appreciate.

  • @xZEUSo
    @xZEUSo Před 2 lety +2

    Btw Lebron didn't "get it out the mud"....
    He left Cleveland to team with Wade who had already won the ring. Thats not getting it out the mud. Doing it with a team and players who had yet to win a rig is getting it out the mud. MJ did that

    Michael dunked on Mt. Mutombo, and Lebron could never even stand against a dominant player like Shaq... Jordan is THE expert of crashing the box, and will forever leap through the hearts and minds of all who know of the basketball as HIS AIRNESS!

    It’s Mike, man. We’re talking about greatness, people haven’t ever feared Lebron the Mike was feared. Wilt wasn’t even feared like Mike was, mf’s were straight up scared of this dude, even his team mates. Like AI said, he didn’t even look real in person, like he had some kind of aura around him. Tim Duncan even talked about being just straight up afraid of the guy and the energy around him lmao

  • @thereisablackholeatthecent3340

    The difference between MJ and Lebron is LeBron has to have people speak up his work. MJ work can't be described in words..
