I love how they took the cheese strat with using pillars and made into a legit strategy/mechanic for the fight. It's small but makes the fight feel so much better.
A random guy will patch the bug, a game designer will turn it into a feature

This update is why I love and respect Klei as game makers and devs, absolutely genius and awesome stuff in there
Ehhh, don't search DST Uncompromising Mode Ancient Guardian Fight, otherwise, you will remember that this is the same Klei that used a mod sample character to make the DS DLC characters.
@@asciiftw3632 Not the first time they had a mod turn into a feature. Also I don't see what's wrong with that, I'd only see it as an issue if they were selling it as DLC or something (cough Bethesda cough), but how they handle this is great. Now everyone will have this, not just PC folks

@@zurcus7224 Well the ""problem"" with it is my friend they gave no credits at ALL to the UM team like none. They just tried to brush it off as their own idea and now all of these people - creators are sucking klei off.

@@RemedieX yeah, i just find it funny that gamedev borrow idea from mod and make profit. also they borrowed a piece of code from a community made fix for quick drop or smth like that in dst im pretty sure.
Nah they stole it and UM still made the boss fight better with new features (i bet klei is working on a ag rework again :)
The new crafting menu feels weird (visually), like a mod, don't know how to express it. It doesn't look like anything else in the game.
I'll admit the current game has way too many crafts for the old menu and a search bar is really welcomed.

Yeah, it's a bit of an adjustment. It's not as bad as I thought though. At first I saw it and was like "Nope hate this" but the categories are more intuitive than before, and I like that they pin the basics to the side on he beginning to help those who might just be starting out in the game. Give them an idea of what to focus on.

Klei really just out here blowing away my expectations with this "quality of life" update that has substantially improved both Wolfgang and the ancient guardian, two of my longest running issues with dst. Makes me hope we can get something like this for crab king to make things more dynamic.
fun fact: this ancient guardian update is somewhat inspired by ag in uncompromising mode, except instead of jumping and having a 2nd phase, he stomps repeatedly while heading towards you, causing items to fall from the sky he can run into, this also works on the pillars except in this mod the pillars can break.

So for the crafting "bookmarks" I'll call em, what if at the bottom there where 2 or 3 multicolored tabs, so you can have 3 presets of bookmarks. Its a bookmark FOR bookmarks! One for survival, one for fighting, and one for other things that don't fit

I really love this new update ! Especially the Wolfgang tweaks and the Ancient guardian rework
I still feel a bit anxious about the new crafting tab but i think it has a nice potential
It's good to see that the update turned out to be good, I still have to see the crafting tab for myself, but the guardian is a good boss now.
This is where I first heard of this update, and my reaction to it all is “YEEEAH BOIIIII!!” I absolutely love this idea, it’s small, and fixes the lamest boss in the game making him interesting by going “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature”. Overall I think I’ll really like this update, if I get a chance to play it because I’m typically busy.

i realy liked the debuf perk because now wolfgang is kinda like wanda, a really strong power but whit more risk for geting hit, and also fits really good whit wolfgang character being cowardly loosing his will to figth when is being attack
The new ag is very similar to dst uncompromising mode’s ag mixed with ag rework mod so maybe they were inspire by the stunning pillars there

Wasn't that reworked ancient guardian fight from a mod? It's been a long time since I saw it so I don't remember which one it was, but I remember hitting the pillars and the guardian stomp being present.
Edit: Yeah, Uncompromising Mode did something similar with the pillars although the rest was different. I don't know how I managed to forget which mod it was since I worked with them in the past.

I think running under deerclops might be a nod to deerclops in terraria since there was supposed to be a hitbox there
Is the mightiness loss negated by armor? Because in bosses like ancient fuel weaver tanking is better to save time so he dont gain resistance and spawn minions million times

Especially since Wormwood started off having that as his major unique downside I'm surprised at how many of those we are getting now

I think the deerclops changes are fair ONLY if he one shots you if he hits you while you are frozen, that would make him still scary because otherwise he's literally just the easiest boss in the game because you can just walk around him (which you can't do against many other enemies)
My only issues with the new crafting tab is that you can’t turn the camera or perform actions with spacebar with it open (so you can’t gather while preparing to craft), and there are literally way too many slots. Why do we need separate slots for all weathers, beefalo riding, weapons and armour being split into two. It makes crafting multiple items in a row so much more tedious
