    Hotfix - forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/123937-game-update-442776/
They've changed how often bunnymen drop their food loot, end tables now have their decorations last longer and newer flowers can be placed within them, there is a new login bonus as I'm sure many know by now and more! Man, this update is somehow more to talk about than Forgotten Knowledge and yet I feel like nothing has changed almost... strange.
To be honest, and this is my total KNEE-JERK reaction, I get what they are going for and will accept it however I believe this to be one of the worst updates they have done in quite some time. It was just too much, too soon. They tone things down a bit, adjust perhaps the ability to maybe get at least two crops per harvest without having to shoot for HUGE crops and then I'll be totally fine with it. We'll just have to wait and see!
Let us know if you've discovered anything new and exciting since the release! This is a learning time for all of us!

mm, i agree! it seems super cool, but maybe it would be nice if the more complicated farming mechanics could be optional instead of the only way to farm anymore. like fishing, where you could just make a rod and fish in a pond, or you can make a whole entire boat and tackle and stuff. i liked just planting seeds and getting whatever veggies or fruits came out and using them for my recipes! i dunno if i can do all the nutrient and garden battle stuff, it seems pretty daunting right now, but i do love the new designs and art and creativity though :D! thanks for the video as always, Beard, hope you have a wonderful day!

You can literally place 1 plot, plant NINE seeds, then forget about it. 9x the crop, with only the occasional de-weeding/boss kill. The only downside is that certain plants take longer with seasons... but that's still 4x the crop harvest with 1 plot. Forget me lots are actually super useful for recipes like meatballs, fistfuls of jam, and ratatouille. You only need one bit of meat, one fruit, and one veggie to make them and can fill the other slots with forget me lots. As they are weeds the forget me lots keep producing flowers over and over as long as you keep harvesting them and don't let them go bad. So you can stretch out your basic foods by using them. Just survived a winter with this method. It really helped keep us fed when seeds are basically impossible to find. It's realistic too as many people in history have had to stretch out their foods with fillers like this during harsh times. I felt really clever for finding out I could do this and it made me feel very good being able to provide food for everyone over the winter.

Personally it feels like Klei is trying to make DST more like Stardew Valley at least in the farming aspect of things. And I don't think this is particularly great for the game. Yes, it does make farming more interesting and different from just planting seeds in the ground/farm plots and then letting them grow by themselves, but in my opinion it could've been left this way, or maybe just tweaked a bit without overhauling the whole system. Now, my impression of it is that you'll have to work much harder to get a yield from your crops, and it will be more time consuming overall. And while that may be ok in the context of a game where it's centered around farming, DST is not centered around farming as much as it is around survival in general. So my initial impression isn't great, but hopefully that'll change in the future as Klei tweaks things

Before, how used my yields from farms was mostly dependant on bird; if it gave me enough seeds I'd make food with the excess; now I don't feel bad using the yield and mostly happy plants give a seed alongside the crop; in-season plants even give 2 specific crops. And its really great that they reward attending and overall making me actually farm crops that I wouldn't due to their seasonal and nutrient interactions is amazing.
