I have their Epi pen and I love it!
I love Epiphones because you get the Gibson designs and sound, without the Gibson price.
He looks like guy fieri lmao
As a dedicated Fender man I can say with all confidence that this fellow is spot on about what he says about Epiphone. I picked up a NightHawk reissue about 6 months ago. What a great guitar for the fraction of the price of a Gibson! Now I'm looking at the Blues Hawk. Great guitars for a great price!
I love my Epiphones. Love my Gibsons to, but who can afford those now.
Recently retired , I purchased Epiphone's Player Pack with everything included. The Les Paul Special ll guitar was good looking, wasn't heavy or awkward, and even with the factory strings and setup, it played almost effortlessly and sounded like a Rockin' Les Paul should. With the money I saved I bought a bass and acoustic guitar too.
this makes me love my epiphone even more.
This guy could sell a plastic bag of empty air, and i would actually buy it.
I have both... if you can play real good guitar... it is hard to tell......The magic is in your hands !!!
I have lots of Epiphones and love them! :)
I got an epiphone les paul a while back. Very impressed with the quality of it. It has coil taps and all that other fun stuff. I played a bunch of gibsons and it plays just as good as any other 2,500 gibson.
Epiphone is, by far, one of the best brands out there. You get a great guitar for the price and they look and sound great. The only issue I have with Epiphone is the headstock. I always thought they were ugly, but that isn't a big deal.
Take me down to flavor town
Been solidly gigging the same epi les paul for 15 yrs, its got sweat, beer, smoke, weed, coke, you name it stuck in all the nooks and crannys, sounds great, the fukn thing is a machine, still plays like the day i got it, last thing any professional guitarist wants is too look like a fukn amateur onstage,,,15yrs ,,,not one problem,,speaks for itself doesnt it,,
I have a 1979 Epiphone Sheraton in all natural maple. It’s been heavily modified, but retains some of the best parts of the original. I used Schaller gold tuners with ebony knobs and gold Gibson tune-a-matic saddles and end stop. I kept the pots and switch, but changed out the wiring for better. I love this guitar and use it on stage every time I play electric. I’ve got a Gibson Dove for acoustic, but still adore my Epiphone. Play on you crazy guitarists!
@metalshredder14 Let's not forget that the King of the Blues, B.B. King plays an Epiphone.
I have a 2009 Epiphone LP Standard (Tuxedo), and I absolutely love it! Amazing tone and sustain. No regrets at all!
i've never seen a guy so passionate about guitars
This man is totally right, epiphone is getting better and better, i dont have any but i have ESPs jacksons, dean and washburns and more than half are american and japanese (ESP) i was looking for a guitar yesterday for a friend, i wanted to buy it as a gift to him, and i grabed a gibson sg, natural finish with automátic tuners and god that was a fucking disgusting guitar and trust me i'm the first in line to defend expensive guitars but fuck theres nothing i can do about that gibson, even my bc rich warlock bronze series i bought 12 years ago feels way better, i couldnt belive it, then i grabed an epiphone that was half of the gibson Price and felt and played way way better, it was really really sad, it hurts saying these things
I use the Les Paul Custom Pro by Epiphone and it is a pleasure to use. I just purchased the Epiphone Emperor Swingster, so am looking forward to using that.
Just because the head angle is more extreme or that the tailpiece has an angle it does not improve sustain. Recently I got around to raising my tailpiece pretty high and the guitar plays so much better. The tailpiece is made that way so YOU can set it how you like. Higher = slinky easy bends. Top loading telecasters sound great.
Live, Epiphones are amazing, I don't know why you'd play anything else, I'd use a Gibson in the studio but epiphones are fucking amazing
I have Epi LP's and Gibson LP's alike on my guitar rack and I use them interchangeably!
in translation we can sell you a cheaper Gibson and because we are owned by Gibson we can't get sued
I hate the way i see people knock down epiphone, people tend to forget that these guitars are amazing pieces of equipment, i own two epiphone guitars and i gotta say these guitars are incredible, ive never had any problems with them, they are truly brilliant!
gibson's are nice and they can give me one for free, but I cant afford their prices. that' said I can wipe the floor at a gig with an epi against a Gibson anytime and in the studio. They're really great guitars. Since I own both I love them both.
I have both Gibson and fender, as far as the pitched headstock giving more sustain, so what , if its even true, my fender strats and tele, play just as nice without the headstock pitch,
Epis are great and way better value for money than a new Gibson as you get a wonderful guitar at a fraction of the price... but there are a few points here that just aren't true. Buy a brand new Gibson Les Paul STD (as an example), use it a couple of years, then try and sell that to someone for the same price you got it for.. or more... it's not going to happen (unless it's a limited edition they stopped making.) New guitars, just like cars and most other mass produced consumer goods, lose value the second you get them home. They only gain value when they become collectors items like vintage guitars, but you got to wait a long time for that.
Also, I was just comparing Epi SGs and Les Paul's verses the original Gibson versions in my local guitar shop yesterday and the Gibson pickups sound a LOT better than the Epis. Of they they do, you're paying 3 or 4 times the price. The epis sound great, but not a patch on the Gibsons. This is not a dig at Epiphone, I love them and use a Casino for loads of gigs and recordings, just pointing out that the guy is spinning a bit of a yarn here. :)
i saw this guy a few weeks ago he was very good and talked about the stuff here with us but its ashame because the store he was in didnt realy tell anyone that he was going to be there so there wasnt that many people . it was still nice to learn more about epiphone
I like this presentation. You really go through everything that makes the Epi a better choice for a cheap guitar than, say, a Squier.
In terms of pickups, sure. But I, having personally handled both brands, feel that Epi's have more stability in the overall build. Gibson necks feel way too sensitive.
Just picked up my new 1959 Les Paul Standard Epiphone. Great guitar, better than many Gibsons out there.
My first guitar ever is a Epiphone S-600 which I got for my 16th b day and soon i'm getting a Epiphone LP Special II Les Paul... Epiphone all the way...
very good presentation thank you
I own an Epiphone Studio Standard that is a bolt on Les Paul and it rocks!!!
...trust me folks...I work for Epiphone!!
I love my Epiphone Les Paul Studio. Epiphones are awesome, without a doubt, but I hope to upgrade to a Gibson someday :)
I have an epi sg as my 1st electric,it a great one at this price. and it still sounds freaking awesome still now. it had a bit prob in neck joint. but apart from that its d best thing u can get at itz price...
Dr. Epiphone is so badass.
@EPI6fingers where are your epis from? chinese les paul standard are good?
i want the job of the guitar that tests out all the guitars to make sure they work, now thats a sick job
my epiphone toggle switch has broken 3 times and i'm not at all rough with my guitar. However, despite the poor build quality (in my experience) the sound is actually very good (from my epi SG)!
nice guitars!! wish i could have one
Do you guys know what is the model of the les paul in the back, in the right?
hey Dr Epiphone i just recently purchased an epiphone custom that was made i Korea. i was told that this was one of the best epiphone Les pauls ever made.i would love to know from someone with your experience.could tell me about these model
That's so true, for some reason americans think they [and maybe the uk] are the only producers of great quality in the whole world.
nice! very interesting!
I'm so glad I have 2010 Epiphone Les Paul
@arielcardona You've misunderstood. 777PLove meant that you should save up more money and buy an American made guitar versus spending less money for a guitar made overseas. This is not for quality, but simply because you're supporting the American economy in doing so. However, in some cases, American made guitars have been known to be produced with higher quality parts and engineering, but this comes at a higher price
Epiphone & Gibson forever!!!!
My cheapo PR100 sounds so good.
Its the Epiphone Ultra 3
You can plug it in to your amp and your computer
i meet him in real lif yesterday!!
i love mi a Epiphone :) Epiphone and Ibanez!
awesome, also comes down to the skill of the player....lots of people buy for the name.
I like the feel, the sound and the look of Epiphone and Gibson guitars, but it's just more natural with a Fender according to my oppinion!:)
ok im kinda new to this but am i crazy or is there a difference between the Gibson Thunderbird & Epiphone Thunderbird's body? it seems like the bottom swoop of the Gibson is longer than the Epiphone
I still don't get it
i want to buy an epiphone
but what should i choose!?
standard or standard plus
i don't see a difference between them...
I have an Epiphone SG Pro I bought in 2012. It feels and plays great but there is a problem in the electronics somewhere. The bridge pick-up cuts out. I thought it was the selector switch but replacing it didn't fix the problem. I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and the quality of that guitar is far more superior to that of my Epiphone. I'm thinking about just gutting it and replacing all of the electronics.
If like what he said.. Is therea big different between an old les paul custom compare to a 2010 les paul custom?? Anyone who can answer my question?
do the g-400 have the non roatating output jack
I have a PB-725 have any info on that model?
im buying the Epiphone Goth Explorer soon! ^_^
angled headstock is obviously better that's why you hear of more Gibson necks breaking at the headstock then the flat headstocks and even Epi necks
"Little springy clippy things" I love it
I brake my connection in th input jack on a epiphone sg g-400. Wath I am supose to do?
Epiphones are great value guitars for the money. I have Gibsons and Fenders and my Epi 56 Goldtop fits nicely in the "family"...
i love the 2 LP customs, 1 lp std 1 1275 guitars i have.
nice!!
its a nice little sound, iv'e never been able to figure out how to use it musically, but it always kinda sounded like fairies XD
@kiwiredrum yea but if u just put it on backward hows it gonna be in the right place???
that fire burst lp in the back is sexy
Fender has a flat headstock but it has a quite angle to one side...
a good overview of the nuts and bolts of most new epi's. i have owned many epi's and gibsons too. i don't waste time comparing them. pointless. each have their own good and bad points. also, there is another option besides epi and that is Agile guitars from Rondo Music. the upper end guitars start around $350 and go up to about $699 and are damn fine guitars too. something for everybody
Ok I just got a "nuclear Extreme" epiphone and have been playing a standard too, but Epi6fingers there is a tone difference my guitar teacher has an older gibson that is amazing. Epis are great too don't get me wrong but there is a difference and it isn't just price. I love my epi though and refuse to replace it
@TheGBau How do you know?
what do i have to do to get his job?? :D
I installed Gibson USA pups in a friends Epi Les Paul . The sound was definatly improved. The pups are not the same quality
les paul worked in a epiphone factory first tho, right.
I didn´t know guy fieri liked guitars
I heard epiphone a gibsons guitars neck's break very easily. is that true?
or you really you had to smash it to break it?
i want his job
alot of guitars just standing behind him
yeaaaaaa
flavor town
this is the guy fieri of guitars
dr. guitar's clinic
So many questions: Was he issued the lab-coat or did he have it made? What university did he attend to learn about the moderately priced and entry-level Epiphone guitars? And does he do that to his hair and look in the mirror and think, "Yes, I have a lovely, blonde head! Perfect!" Does he change hair colors? Was his speech written for him or did he write it? So so so many questions.
gibsons are overpriced because of all the paint and finish stuff
I don't give a shit about the looks so I bought an eppy for half the price and pleased with it (also I can mod the shit out of it and still pay overall less than a gibson)
@Rangerhalt1 i wouldn't judge a guitar brand by who plays them
@ MitchRulzWorld lol. good nuts.
Korean Epiphones are nice . Thicker finish than Gibsons . Grover tuners are heavier . I put Seymour Duncan pickups in mine .
Do you find it hard to swallow when people compare an epiphone from where they were made? whether if it's made in japan , china , korea, or indonesia?
@MrFreeDrugs wood quality mostly
@valdivia562 my sounds good
"20% more tone," the cynic in me thinks that fact is utter nonsense. I get this is a pitch but there is a lot of misinformation here.
lol,,,, Dr. go back and do some home work, I have a 2yr old casino, which I love, but at 1 1/2 yrs, the Chinese 3 way switch stop working(to much tin) bought a new StarCraft switch, then the volume pot stared cutting out,,, after doing some research, I found out this is a problem, so mow I have to spend $60 for new wiring and pots, all SW switches,,,,,,,,,,
i saw heaven behind him ~
@Rangerhalt1 fenders are great guitars and i personally prefer them cause they are good compromise, nice feel and sound, les pauls i find don't have the feel, although the neck is nice, sg would probably be good in between guitar, i think gibson les pauls are the most overpriced guitars, epiphones are as good feel wise and not far off on sound too :)
It's all in your hands and what you like. Nothing more, nothing less.If you use a ton of effects,to arrive at "your" sound, and are happy with it,or use none, and are happy with it,what does it matter the name on the headstock?
I didn't know Guy Fieri was into guitars??
