Making Very Primitive Strong Wine
Vložit

- The oldest evidence of a fermented beverage comes from 9,000 year-old pottery in China. The consumption of alcohol has played a very important role in human history for a very long time. In this ASMR video I demonstrate a primitive but effective way to make a rather strong wine with obvious alcohol content only using wild elderberries and water in a clay pot. In just three days the mixture had produced a significant amount of alcohol that produced the good relaxed feeling that alcohol is known for. After three cups I just wanted to lie down and sleep. I even had a mild hangover the next morning!

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):
Who films you?
I do. I travel alone, shoot, edit, upload, everything.
How many cameras do you use?
Usually I use just one camera. When I have underwater scenes then I also use a GoPro camera. I get different angles by moving the camera around and repeating the action to create a more cinematic viewing experience for the audience.
Where is this place?
In order to protect the integrity of the natural landscape I prefer to be very vague about the locations I use. There are places that I used to visit that were so beautiful and untouched but the consequences of social media brought all kinds of people to visit and sadly some people do not respect nature and have badly damaged these places. Therefore I do not share exactly where I go.
Do you workout?
Yes, I workout, but not in a gym. I have some weights that I use and also do a lot of bodyweight exercises. I also run and sometimes swim. I hike frequently do collect wild foods and to shoot these videos so I'm very active all the time.
Are you vegan or vegetarian?
I wish I could maintain my health on a primal diet that does not include animals but unfortunately that did not work and I ended up with health problems as a result of those attempts. From my studies, observations of nature, and personal experience I have come to believe that the best diet for optimal human health is a primal diet (paleo).

Can you imagine if you were out hiking somewhere and you just spotted this man in a loin cloth out in the wild 🤣👏🏼👏🏼
Hi I'm John Quinones and this is What would you do?
i would trade some coffee for his tasty looking wine
I think I was seen once recently. The hiker probably got really freaked out. I disappeared behind a boulder and then into the brush.
I would have joined in
Hi Chad , have you ever thought of having a spear ،bow and arrows ? 🤔
This is like ASMR or something, because i love the silence and the sounds that he makes its very very relaxing
Thanks for the like😍
Yeah
That's the idea, that's the reason you're seeing this video.
I love the silence :)
Я тоже кайфую от звуков в этом видео
Friend: so what did you do during quarintine?
Chad: I made strong primitive wine and got hungover in the wilderness
Friend: what??
Chad lol
we're out here living in 2020 acting like it's the end and my man here living in the early 300's B.C all happy making his own wine. Damn good!
Want to save the world? Go back and start living like in B.C.
Jm 115 in 300 be people have civilizations already probably 60,000 bc
😂
If it was the 300s bc he would be wearing macedonian armor and somewhere in the east
yeah hehe-he
In ancient times the stick people used to stir mead was thought to have magical powers, as the more they used it the more powerful the mead batches seemed to become. Today we know that the batches got stronger as time progressed because of the yeast left on the stick. A stir stick was thought to be like a wizards wand. That gets you drunk.
Trevor which wiki page did you get that from
I read this quite a few years ago in this thing called a "book" when I used to brew my own mead. No wikis involved.
That is a great bit of information. I appreciate you sharing this. Thank you! I will designate a stick to be my wand.

He definitely going to have them runs 🚽
Nature is also a giant toilet
Absolutely! There are tons of modern foods that really mess me up. Nature is much nicer.
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger
Too much elderberries can give you feeling very sick if not cooked. Cyanic acid is present in uncooked berries. Great vid
Yes, I read that too. I ate a lot of them and had just mild gastro discomfort. Many common modern day foods contain toxins and upset my stomach such as too many potatoes, beans, and oats.
I guess everyone reacts differently to raw elderberries. I ate a small handful yesterday and I got pretty ill (nausea, stomachache and chills). Lesson learned, I'll only eat it cooked now!

Chad after finishing the video: Alright dudes, let’s go back to our 2 million dollars mansion. Hop in the lambo.
More like, I hope this 1999 van starts today and damn! I forgot to pay the rent and electric bill again.
@@ChadZuberAdventures I didn't forget to pay them. I just didn't care.
My 1999 van was such a pain, I turned it into a greenhouse. Built in generator! Still rotting in my driveway. Upcycled.
We are obviously not doing the pandemic correctly. Gotta remember to start panicking more. Maybe form an angry mob of one....
....My wife inspected the outdoor fire pit to make sure I wasn't roasting rats. She just likes out rats and the fact is they are helpful in the garden. She also made me let my opossum go. Now the opossum is eating all my beneficial cockroaches out of my vermicompost bins and I bet she is munching out on my snack rodents. None to be found. ....'Dang marsupial is in cahoots with the dogs too, they don't bark at her anymore, I think she is using her opposable thumbs to get in the dog food while they give her a lift up the bin. It's anarchy, Bro. Wildlife is moving in, Can't go for a swim without kicking a shark out of the way lately. Should be interesting to see what happens with animals this fire season. Folks in Julian are going to have bears and turkeys and cougars laying around together in their sprinklers....
....Most importantly;
Good vid as always. I am so ready to go out to one of my spots. Gotta get a rental updated first. It never ends. I don't care about that either. LOL. - Mike in Coronado

I mean that's why I called you true son of the soil and nature. your concepts are so accurate about every thing related to nature and when your wine was ready and you enjoyed it and went to sleep only then I realised even God is loving it!!!👍👍👍😇😇😇❤❤❤
It really is quite amazing to think about how all this stuff came from the earth - the pot, the basket, the fruit.
Loved this
Oh yeah, looks delicious, the amazing coincidence is I tried Saint Germain elderflower liqueur for the first time today!! So I can imagine how sweet and fragrant it tastes! 😎👍
I need to try the flowers.

EPIC RELAX!!!
i just cant stop imagine a kid passing by ....
Kid: Mom? Why there is a drunk man wearing pantie in a small house in the middle of nowhere?
Mom: Come here son .. dont look at him ... let him do his things...
Zarahnator that kid couldn’t do that so why bother right?
Hahaha!!!
Wow! I have actually attempted to make this wine in the past. One batch I used no sugar, and the other I used sugar. The first batch came out to be more of a soda, while the second batch while using sugar became more wine-like. Oh yah, the berries end up being far sweeter, and without the bitter taste when they are so mature they are raisin-like. Your berries may be slightly poisonous, as they still have some green coloration. Great video!
I made another batch with cooked fruit and it wasn't very good. I'll try another with added honey and see how that works.
@@ChadZuberAdventures Ohhh thats really smart! Im sure cooking younger berries would mitigate a lot of the concerns. I wonder why it didn't taste as good, though, which is kind of unfortunate as mature berries are almost always taken by the birds first
There are lots of nature berries on this tree. Too much fruit for the birds. I think cooking the fruit killed too many of the wild yeast.

Hey chad, what books do u recommend to read? I’m sure u have done lots of research for all these survival and primitive videos. I would love to learn more
There are many good books. For edible plants in your region look for books dedicated to your region and get several edible plant books because I have not found one that had all the useful information. Books about survival of native people are good too. I have a book titled "Survival of Native California". The SAS survival guide is a great resource for practical survival just about anywhere but lacks much info about edible plants.
@@ChadZuberAdventures That one book you mention sounds like the one by my late good friend, Paul Campbell. He was a great man. Books by our friend, Christopher Nyerges are very good. There are Still a lot of the long time SoCal bush men around. So much local knowledge. - Mike in Coronado
You knew Paul Campbell? Another one of my my subscribers knew him too. Yeah, that's his book. It's the best! I have a few books by Christopher Nyerges too. Also excellent!
@@ChadZuberAdventures Yep. We were buddies, Razzed each other regularly. Your other friend is probably a former Dirt Time participant.
Here's some history, if you are interested -
Both of us , Paul and I, were open-minded former Marines, so we got along.
Paul was a good friend of the now-defunct DirtTime Forum, which is trying to make a comeback with Christopher Nyerges and former partner Alan Halcon, last I checked. My other good friend, Dude McClean, known as DirtTime Dude, is aged but still kicking, also a Marine of course, and we speak every week or so. Dude introduced me to Paul, knowing we would click. We were all benevolent rascals. They are all brilliant woodsmen of different styles. Entertaining company.
Being in camp with Christopher, Dude, Paul, and Alan a couple times a year from about 2000 to 2010 was a golden age. 'Dates are a little off, but that's the gist of it. I was known as Vec. - Great memories and many lessons taught and learned.
Dude and Paul were addicted to acorn pancakes, and they really knew how to make them. Christopher always finds some good greens to eat. Lots of stinging nettles went down the hatch. I'd usually be putzzing around in my blanket poncho, hand fishing carp or crawdads, etc. Lots of mental reset buttons hit in those times. During some outings, my wolfy dogs would usually make a hole the size of a condominium under some good boulders, and we'd drink cold beer in luxury in there while folks cooked their brains out in the desert heat. My white coyote dag would come in from hunting with a rabbit or some fat rats, but she'd want half my beer. Oh! the sacrifices I have made for interspecies cooperation! Paul would always drop everything for a chance to laugh. And we laughed constantly. That's true intelligence IMHO.
Paul would casually catch birds in Arapuca Bird Traps while he gave a morning lecture at DirtTime gatherings, then he'd cook them and eat them for lunch using primitive methods. Delicious and instructive to the new folks.
....All the new folks would stand by and marvel at how easy he made everything. - His throwing sticks were very good. You could hit a rabbit-sized target repeatedly from quite a distance, much further than you'd ever need to in real hunting situations, and with plenty of energy to kill. Paul and I constantly got in linguistic tongue-in-cheek battles about atatl darts being properly called darts, not spears or arrows. People never knew what the hell was going on with us, but no one cared because we were always laughing.
If Paul is not in Paradise, I'm not going. He was a good man. I think you and I are destined to be friends like that, Brother. You and I are gonna take a hunt and gather sea voyage. Mark my words. - Mike in Coronado

Yoooo chad what's up guy! I Finally got to get back on the tube man and I'm right back to watching your videos 🤣 glad your happy and healthy my friend! Sorry I actually have a question, what do the elderberries taste like just by themselve?
Welcome back!!! The raw elderberries are a combination of sweetness and bitterness. It's hard to explain. They taste okay. Not great, but certainly not bad at all. The texture is kind of like tiny small grapes but not as sweet.
Muy bueno, un saludo desde España🇪🇸
