I know I do too. I think it makes us feel like all our problems go away while our imagination temporarily is in the stories world. Just guessing. But it helps me sleep to.
I'm almost half way through and I think it's great! I really enjoy his voice and the stories are wonderful and remind me of when I heard them when I was young :-)

These fairy tales are not to be taken literally, they are written in code and are political messages, as in those days there was no freedom of speech, so they hid the true message in these stories to communicate information.

I fell asleep listening to this and woke up in the wee hours with nightmares. I guess these old stories are still very effective.

Ironic I read this in school last month
The only Grimm fairytales that I'm familiar with are Snow White, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Hazel and Gretel, Cinderella, and Rumpelstiltskin. Also, the princes in these stories are kinda sexist....seeing as they view princesses not as people, but as prizes to be won. Oh well. Still great stories.
These works were first published in the early 1800s, theyre not "sexist" its simply an indication of the times and it cant be judged on modern sentiments.
