    Add multiple holes to where the top link attaches, it changes the geometry of tilt angle as it lifts. When the top link is parallel to the lift arm the forks will remain level through the lift range. Use a different hole placement and forks will curl in when raised, great for transporting heavy logs.

    Hello Mitch,
    Great idea. I am like you, I lie awake at night thinking of more ways I can use my B2601. I have been teaching myself how to weld, so this will be a great project for me. Welded the chain hooks on the bucket yesterday, and am working on fabricating an eye for inside the bucket as soon as the freezing rain stops.
    Thanks,
    Ben from Nova Scotia

    Very nice mod.!
    I just got my new B2601 today and can't wait to start playing, I mean working with it.... Looking forward to doing mods on it as well. I've got a set of pallet forks similar to yours except mine has the big override bars on the top of it. I'm thinking about cutting that off and welding tabs on the side of it so I could bolt the override rack back on if I thought I would need it.
    Great channel, and yes I subbed.....

      @MJADoingStuff  Před 3 lety +1

      Good idea on welding the tabs on in case you need the rack plus with it off it saves weight for more lifting maybe add some hooks to it too. I showed my pallet fork hooks in the tractor mod video. Thanks for checking out the video : ) and congrats on your new tool toy.

  • @btarb242
    @btarb242 Před 2 lety

    love this idea. I need to use my front forks unloading pallets from trucks, etc., but it'd be great to have the forks on the back to haul logs and milled planks out of the woods. The terrain has some sizeable hills and it's a bit clenchy to have the weight out in front when going down them.

      @@MJADoingStuff Water weighs 8.33lbs/gallon. And if your going to use the tote, be sure to keep it low and throw in sone of the expanded open cell foam, used to fill fuel tanks so they don’t slosh. If you hit a bump with 100-gallons on board and it runs from one side to the other the shift in center of gravity, can be enough to flip you over onto your side.
      One of those industrial accidents which is pretty common with unbaffled tanks on trucks. I have a late 90s big Bronco with the optional 60-gallon fuel tank. When it gets to between 2/3 and 1/3 of the tank you can feel the fuel moving around, and have to think about it if out creeping along old roads. And, in town you can feel it every time you brake.
