    If you don’t already know how, You should learn some basic CAD design and 3D print replacement parts when no longer available. Or you could sublet the fabrication to one of the online big fabrication shops.
    That’s what I’m going to be working on soon to replace a discontinued Sea King part.

      What part?
      A 3D printed part probably wouldn't hold up to the forces releasing the pull-rope. I mean maybe... but I doubt it.

      @@BrandonsGarage You had mentioned a missing lever? Even if a piece should be flat metal, there are services for CNC metal cutting as well.

    You know there are people who intentionally make a new outboard look worse than that to deter theft.

    That's not a hole in the hood - it's a hood scoop to increase POWER😂😂😂😂

    Again, another perfect troller for someone.

      I really like the 8 HP, for some unknown reason, much better than the 9.9.
      But you are correct, for someone. I don't need it, I have an 8 HP 2 stroke that is much easier to store and move around.

    There's a little part of me that loves this engine... ok, fine, maybe not so little.

    I have a question for the Evinrude/Johnson master… I have a ‘93 115hp with the cross flow cooling system needing a thermostat replacement. I really don’t want to cut the lower cowling like most people do. Is there any way to get the thermostat cover bolts out without pulling the powerhead?

    Did that compression relief work in that one? (them clicking pins)
    Should have butter smooth idle if the compression relief does what's it's supposed to do, right?

    • @ct1762
      @ct1762 Před 11 měsíci

      compression relief is for easier pulling of the starter cord, not idling. once its running it has little effect. these little 2 cyl 4 strokes have a terrible vibration since both pistons go up and down toghether.

      You and me both. You should see the footage I deleted!
      I'm pretty sure the ignition system caused interference with the camera.

    Can you sell me the fuel pump housing and fuel pump from the not so great one? I just bought this exact motor from someone and they were literally using an electric fuel pump connected directly to the carb!

    as i was told..it is NOT AN EVINRUDE ...ITS A REBRANDED SUZUKI ..posing as an evinrude...evinrude never made their own 4 stroke...it was a fill in till they could make their own 4 stroke..it was an OMC not a BRP engine..BRP never built a 4-stroke either...

      @BrandonsGarage  Před 11 měsíci

      Naw, thats just how they work.
      You may be overthinking it; imagine the outboard as an 8 HP vibrating toothbrush.

      @ct1762 Před 11 měsíci

      @@BrandonsGarage haha right on. They do vibrate thats for sure, and are hard on mounts though. had a few come through the shop like yours, but were definitely worse.
