I watch all the Team Marine content 👍🏻but you grossly over exaggerate the Evinrude G2 problems. A properly rigged up to date Evinrude G2 is a fantastic experience. Fast, fuel efficient, low maintenance, great warranty,clean rigging, power steering with only 1 battery needed. Great magneto output. P.S. Google the HP and torque curve on a Evinrude G2 225H.O look at how much power that motor makes at 5500 RPM. Prop to this and you can’t argue that it’s not a great motor. And as far as realiabity goes my dealer sells Evinrude and Mercury and in fact it’s the Mercurys that have more problems. I feel Evinrude was very close to gaining back the respect they deserved before getting turned Into the Rotax S. now it’s going to take a long time before taken seriously 👍🏻
Where are you located J R? The upper Mississippi ate G2's for breakfast and we seen just about every failure imaginable on them.
I had a G2 E-tec and that POS left me stranded on the river in the worst lightning storm I've ever seen. If you need any liquid gold (XD100), hit me up!
@@TeamMarineService I’m in central Canada. Keep in mind I’m talking the last rendition of the G2. There was some small changes made that were needed.

Shame about Evinrude Etecs. Love mine 2012 115hp Etec. Runs like a charm! Only had one issue with power trim. Wish they were still around!!But i have heard of others with issues! Thanks great video!

Always enjoy your videos.....just throwing this out there to see if there is any interest in a discussion/comparison on smaller tin bass boats as not everyone can afford to fish out of a 250HP Glass boat. I know you don't like tin boats but it would be interesting to hear your opinions on a comparison of say a G3 1810, Crestliner 189XL, Ranger RT188, Vexus AVX189, Tracker 190TX, and Lund Renegade 1875.
We've done some over/unders on those rigs. Overall, in our opinion they are all overpriced for what ya get. Better off in a bigger flat with a tiller

Take the prop to an engraver, have them match the signatures as written or perhaps it can be laser etched to match the originals in marker. Now you have something for the man cave. A question for your next go-round. Buying a bass boat from 95-2005, Engines to consider and engines to take a pass? Good video gents.

Lastly. That prop is awesome. I would love to have it. But in these current economic times and unless you plan to have a massive “did I say massive” pr marketing plan way outside the scope of your current YT channel base.
I think you would be disappointed in the amount of money that it would bring; because most bass guys don’t have 5, 10, 15k extra to spend on a show piece.
One plus…that Aaron Martins signature is sadly😢gold right now. If you plan to do an auction and want big money you need to reach out to every professional organization and all the anglers that signed it and let them promote it. That’s where any bid dollars are gonna come from.

Before I repower an old rig, should I strengthen my transom?
How “old” is the boat? If it was built before the prevalence of four strokes, and your staying with the same horse power or higher, then yes.
Knee braces will really help an older transom. Be careful going with a thicker transom.
Look into some of the coosa boards, and poured transoms.
Also will you be adding a jack plate?
Stick with carbureted 2-stroke or upgrade to 4-stroke? I have a ‘96 Evinrude 150 that runs well but chugs the fuel. Is it worth re-powering to get a cleaner, more fuel efficient engine or just run what I have.
How many hours are you gunna do? The 4-stroke may reduce fuel consumption to half, but if you don't do the hours you won't save a penny.
I'm a 4-stroke guy, but if you're happy with the old unit keep it. Unless you do the hours needed to save money on service
