It is so refreshing to finally see a reasonable schedule. I am sick an tired of other people who "flex" with being ultra productive by working 4+ hours a day after their day job. It somehow put a pressure on me that if I am not doing it I am not going to get anywhere as an engineer.
Seeing that you give yourself time to relax and just basically exist as a human being and still be able to achieve things gives me hope that life can be better.
I learned that consistency is more important than burning yourself out

Some days I get a ton of stuff done, even in just a couple of hours, then there's days when one small issue seems to crush my mind! I've learned that walking away and trying again later is usually the more efficient approach! I'm lucky enough to be able to walk away most times when needed and I love it.
I'd love to work like this, 1/3 of my day is pointless scrum meetings.
Love the doing-it-all-on-your-own mindset, it allows you to actually own your work. I'd much rather spend a week or two working on a section / module (design,frontend,backend,testing) rather than a different task every 4 hours.

Thanks for this video, I started something like that, but I'm losing my consistency, and I need to put things back in place again.
I used to work for a company back in the day and there were no working hours. It was stated in our contracts. It was completely okay to leave after 2-3 hours of work. Of course nobody left, but most of us worked 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week. We were extremely productive, because having no working hours motivated us to complete everything the fastest and most efficient way possible so we could go about our day faster. Some of us stayed for 8 hours, mostly because they enjoyed their work or were hanging out with people in the office.

Totally agree. Once engineer has enough skills, experience and is able to deliver "8 hours /day" sounds like a poor management skills + lack of goals from the team/company side. As 8h/day seems to be the only way to measure the work being done, when "something should be done". Now I am on my own, working on my brand and project and there are days I spend 10 hours coding and than need a couple of days to recharge. Productive, but lacks consistency. Thank you for sharing your approach, I will adjust it and test on my own.

Oh just like me... now i dont feel bad doing less hours of work lol I also own every task since Im a solo dev on start up company lmaoooo
I like to work on the morning and on the evening, something easier on the morning and longer session with difficult stuff on the evening. That's true that engineer can't be effective 8h straight, but if you can break it into smaller session's you are in good spot.
Workout in the meantime is another important tip. It helps your brain to rest, as a side effect it will keep you fit ;-)
