Thank you for listening! it means a lot, and i hope you enjoyed, this will be a weekly podcast covering a variety of different hobbies and interests! every monday at 10am Est, so stay tuned :)!
Once my Spotify decides to work again, I'll definitely give it a listen there! 🤟
Rustage, is there a way one can get that (Devil Fruit List) you made for the (One piece D&D)? I want to do a (One piece D&D) with my friends but I'm not as knowledgeable as y'all, is there a website to go to, any info would be nice, please.
Rustage you have the same water bottle as me at 20:30.
I know this is such a minor nitpick against the entirety of that fun episode but I will say that you can cast two spells a turn. They just can't be an action and bonus action, so it's why counter spell and a spell works for example
Rustage and Shwabadi being best friends for 55 minutes straight:
not for 55 minutes straight at least not with mark there
D&D with David Mitchell, William Shakespeare, Stormzy and Socrates would go unfathomably hard.
I cannot shake the feeling that Socrates would be an absolutely UNBEARABLE rules lawyer
@@zacharybosley1935 shakespeare would 100% pull out random homebrew that he's never mentioned/asked about then get mad if the DM didn't allow it
As a One Piece D&D fan, love seeing that for an episode titled which is about D&D & the worst D&D players we have a picture of William. Chaos & some of the most out of pocket shit came from William, that’s why he’s No. 1 character in the series.
I never realised how quickly the characters in OP D&D reached the highest levels until I watched other campaigns cuz in 70 Ep’s they were Lv. 17-18 by the end of the Roger fight
Great episode, it’s really fun & the chemistry between you two is amazing.
There's a reason he was voted top 1 and bottom 1
I just restarted the series not too long ago. William and the old man cracks me up so much because tekking almost immediately went for execution 😂
Just a shame no one had 9th level spells
The trick for dealing with power players is to not. Reward them building their character like that and having knowledge of how the game works. As long as everyone is having fun who cares if they carry combat? It can be kinda cool at times.
It becomes a problem if the other players also wanna do cool things in combat. A problem player ruining the fun of the other players is a thing you have to address.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 yea I just don't like punishing players for having character building knowledge and planning. The solution in my mind is to try and help teach the other players to make their characters stronger if that's what they want.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 What i've found that kinda works is if thats an issue give them stuff that puts them on par with that power player
Im so glad rustage( ex head warden of a max security prison) and shwabadi (2nd place dog breeding competitor) are on a podcast together
One thing watch you campaigns is that you make unique encouters with creative abilities for the enemies, top of my head being how the custodian made a performance check which determined how strong the attack was going to be
Agreed. Some of my favorites were Seraph's gulag attack in One Piece and the rap battle in isekai.
My favourite is Kasparov mainly cuz I’m a huge fan of Chess so I already had a bias for the battle/ability. It was such a sick & creative DF, 4D Chess was amazing & Ragnar somehow still hitting was hype
I just want to say I love this. I became aware of Rustage about three years ago through his nerdcore stuff, I think it was his Kakashi rap. And I love his music, but since then I've seen his reactions, his manga reviews, and of course his DnD series. After getting to know his personality I genuinely enjoy hearing his opinions. Now, I'm not just a fan of Daniel Rustage as an artist, but I'm a fan of him as a person. You're awesome man.
Dude same
I’ve just gotten it into DnD because of Rustage’s series and it’s One Piece Dnd. I ran some one shots before so I can get used to dming and the party was bounty hunters and found the ship of the pirate they were going after. I planned out like 3 layers of this ship and cool little things to collect and they just said screw this, let’s burn the thing with their torches in their explorer kits. I laughed so hard
Jeanne D'Arc, a support?!
Literally received orders from God, Jeanne D'Arc?
Led an army to victory, Jeanne D'Arc??
THE prototypical paladin, Jeanne D'Arc???
I have the feeling that this is going to be an amazing journey, and I’m excited to see what’s to come!
PLEASE KEEP THIS ONE GOING RUSTAGE! I CANT LOSE ANOTHER PODCAST WITH YOU AND SHWAB
I have a roommate who said that I was the worst kind of dnd player because I like making powerful characters. I still do enjoy role play but my favorite part is building the best character that I can.
Model Kits would be interesting, or even an episode on just board games would be really fun
My 4 player DnD party from history
1. Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart
2. Napoleon Bonaparte
3. Richard Nixon
4. Willem Defoe
Loved this episode, such a great idea for a podcast!
Cannot WAIT for the inevitable One Piece episode, gotta hear your most cracked out theories haha
Extremely fun, and I'm actually super excited to see more from you guys! I hope we get a lot from this podcast for a while
These are always great! Keep going
As someone who got into you, your content, and One Piece as a whole thanks to OPD&D and Isekai D&D, I'm thrilled to be getting both another form of Rustage media to enjoy, and that the first episode is D&D related. That tip about building encounters/enemies was genuinely one of the most helpful things I've heard so far as a soon-to-be first-time DM who stresses more over the combat than the roleplay. Cannot wait for the next episode, and excited to see what topic's up for discussion next!!
best duo in nerdcore honestly
Best first episode ive been wanting to get into dnd for a long time since I started watching your isekai dnd 💯💯🙏🏾
This was an amazing pilot I would love if future episodes were 90 min or just 60 like this one.
I understand that u guys r very busy so it might be difficult but I think a 30 min pod is really short. Anyway it was an amazing experience thanks for the episode
Wish you the best Rustage and Shwabadi on this pod where I know the other one's didn't pan out exactly but so many new hobbies to explore and so much other stuff to talk about looking forward to what's next.
Your one piece campaign got me and my friend into dnd about 3 years ago. Always wanted to play it but felt too difficult to understand but from your games got basics and we dived in from there.
Thanks for introducing us to a fun weekly hobby man😂.
Thank you so much for starting this podcast! Great idea as I love to hear about different peoples hobbies. Possibly ask around to different creators and see if they have any "niche" hobbies.
For the draft I'll say Rustage's team I have no idea why.
MY Draft Picks: Obama, Paul Rudd, Yoko Taro and Tekking
Let's go, I've been excited for this since it was teased on Twitter
Awesome first episode I love both of the D&D campaigns you have. One of my favorite hobbies is traveling and sightseeing with my wife. It would be interesting to hear your travel experiences in different cultures or just fun stories from abroad
Happy you're doing this, wonder who'll guest star in the future
Cool new Format!!!
As a Passionate DnD player I couldn’t think of a cooler thing to start this Format and I am very exited for the next Episode!🔥🔥🔥
Slow work days make me happy podcast exist like this
I'd love an episode on sculpting and/or clay in general, thats a hobby of mine I love and I think itd be so cool to see your guys' creative minds wrapping around some clay
Great start. Can't wait for the next one
The "LET ME OUUU-" at the end was ducking hilarious. Looking forward to new episodes!
I like the more self aware discussion on the game state of DnD like you guys lightly touched on like the balance discussion and how you enjoy implimenting times to "Shoot the Monk" so your players can feel empowered and have fun with their character's abilities.
Also "Dungeon" design philosophy, because sometimes there is a literal tomb you trek through to find a key for treasure, other times its simply getting into a circus where some big bozo is hiding.
How do you find new ways to get your player's to engage with your worlds?
really loved it , looking forward to more episodes
I love this so much. Rustage has really become one of my favorite people online so more content from him is always a win. I look forward to seeing more of this, specially when it comes to Rustage's DnD series since those series have been what's really gotten me into Rustage's content and have become my go-to when it comes to listening to something whenever i can. I also look forward to seeing if they bring in any special guests
One piece dnd saved me from a really dark place after my first long term breakup, so thank you RUSTAGE for all the dnd
Love the vibe so far you and mr shwabadose have great chemistry
Its really nice to see rustage and his dad talking about various nerdy topics
I've just started doing my own One piece D&D campaign inspired by Rustages work. Really happy to see a podcast focused more on the people than the subject! Super excited
counterpoint to playing support in powerbuilding their is a bard multiclass that is beyond busted with eloquence bard and divination wizard where you can essentially just say someone fails any save by changing their dice roll and subtracting from that
Yo I loved this, with how much laundry and dishes I go through this is the perfect podcast to sit back and enjoy
I'm here for this podcast even if it becomes monthly after your first 20-30 episodes. Love it!!!
Loved this, can’t wait for more.
Honestly an hour episode is pretty nice for topics u guys are well versed is even more wouldnt be too bad imo, anyways i enjoyed this alot and i hope yall might bring on guests too
This was a very informative video rustage, great content as usual.
Can we get an NBA down the hobby hole?
it'll happen!
Literally my new favorite podcast!
Really loved this little look into Hobby’s Hole!!!!!
Joan of arc and myamoto mushasi playing in the same party would so fascinating to watch. This was awesome to watch! Cant wait to see what Else you have planned!
Loved this! Can't wait for more.
Im gonna definetly be looking forward to this weekly
Their conversation about making games is super interesting, because Im a professional game dev and its the exact opposite for me.
I love programming and creating systems, it feels like putting together a puzzle.
Decent party drafts!
Looking forward to what you guys do with some of the more obscure hobbies out there for future episodes
~_~
Rustage and shwabadi beign best friends for the whole video! Im here for it!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I turned this on while I'm finishing prepping for a session tonight. Very fun, guys.
Your guys' lineups inspired me to get my own:
Diogenes of Sinope
Kobe Bryant
Ushiwakamaru (I want Minamoto no Yoshitsune's child self)
Rustage
Mainly because I want to see how Rustage is gonna fare when lined up with these guys
Tekking joining your One Piece campaign was what first got me into finally seeing what D&D is like, and is why I'm now running my own games as the role of the DM was basically made for me!
I was like, I had heard of the game, but was never overly interested in checking it out more, but then someone entertaining who I follow that I can listen to the videos of for long periods of time while drawing joins a game, with one thing I knew about D&D was that it will include bunch of people talking a bunch, so I figured it was the perfect opportunity! And with the few groups I've watched over youtube, yours and Jocat's games have by far been my favourites!
I don't think it even took me more than two or three sessions of One Piece D&D for me to buy the core books and start looking up the full rules when the entire concept of the game was really interesting and fun, and where my ability to make up stuff as I go and the hobby of drawing and doing comics came in handy, and by now I've even brought two adventures to an end (Lost Mine & Golden Vault)
Heck, I'm currently listening this podcast while working on the map for a silly one-shot I'm planning to throw at my group!
I'm so hyped for this new series!
Dude this podcast is gonna be awesome! I'd like to see an MTG episode and learn about your favorite colors and cards to play
I can’t wait for more episodes! And tbh I liked the long formats
this was awesome, excited to see more of these (especially when yall get to nba stuff). Shwab won the draft imo, Joan of Arc clinched it. Also legit started scheduling a new dnd campaign after this lmao
I was just listening to your sanji rap it was fated 🙏🏾
This personal universe you guys talked about sounds like it would be an awesome campaign to do after isekai/opmarines ends, + more Shwabadi in dnd would be awesome
This is gonna be great. 🥰I'd love to get into DnD, so I loved hearing you chat about your experiences. I'd love to hear about Magic the Gathering or Yugioh in future episodes.🥰
I always want to hear you talking about DMing and Mark is just a really cool guy. I will be there for the next episode of this podcast.
this was great, can't wait for more
Super fun! I've been a regular DM since the late 80's (Around 88') and been a stalwart ever since. ;]
If I had to choose a group to run for I'd pick
1) Jim Henson,
2) Gary Gygax,
3) H.P. Lovecraft, and
4) Nolan North.
Fun podcast, guys. Cheers!
Great new podcast ❤ hoping for magic the gathering, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh tcg ones in the future
It'd be really sick if you guys did a TCG episode. I know Rustage is a big MtG fan, and I am always in the opinion that there are not enough TCG podcasts
Rustage your way more than a guy with ideas you inspired me to do my own dnd!
Loving the pod
Gotta love more Rustage content!
Ayo rustage, what hobbies have you planned for next episodes?
Video games, Nerdcore, Anime, Travel , Books and more !
I can't believe neither drafted me....
I am interested in hearing the design process of the card game! As an ameteur or trying to make card games myself would love to hear more.
🔥Podcast
I'm really looking forward to this podcast. I can't wait to see what you guys are going to talk about. If you end up taking questions from comments one day, then mine is. Have you ever created your own TTRPG system?
Love D&D, also met my closest friends through it. I'm more similar to Shwabadi when playing D&D but I do min-max stats only. I'm going to take Shwab's team. I would love to see a general D&D rap/song in the future!!!
This is really good, I loved listening to this Podcast!! I love the idea of William Shakespeare playing DnD lol.
Edit: Also I would enjoy hearing a podcast on crafting hobbies and collecting hobbies (Like Funko pop collections and stuff)
I feel like it would be fun for two musicians to talk about marching band/ playing a instrument ❤❤ loved this video
first time i read the name of the pod it was "Down the Dobby Hole"
great ep btw!
This is exactly what I needed. 🙌
I loved this pod.
Anybody who has listened to the first ten minutes of any Twitch D&D Episode from Rustage knows that this podcast is a very good idea.
Love the idea ❤ can’t wait until I’m devastated that it gets canceled in 3 eps
Shwabadi mentioning DM’ing for Brando Sando is funny because he had played tabletop games and he’s the same kind of player as Rustage, going for crazy combos and trying to make really strong/broken characters lol
please make them like an hour or so T~T i realyl love longerform stuff
For once I’m happy someone starts a podcast
Rustage is an expert, he got me into DMing.
It would be cool if you talk about when a hobby becomes an addition.( A+ video love it)
34:30 talking about little guys, my friend in his D&D campain made a goblinoid monster who did like 15 damage per turn, max, however he had like inpenetrable skin. Was one of the funniest things i've fought cuz he was super elastic, so we had our half-hillgiant barbarian grab its arms while our dwarf fighter anchored his legs in place, and we just kind of shot away the lil-guy like a slingshot.
I AM LOVING THIS
That needs to be the outro from now on “hey guys welcome and thanks for watching, now how do I get out of here!!!!”
for those genuinely terrible at improv, or simply dont like off the cuff stories... there is a style for you.
i overwrite the crap out of my stories. but for dungeons and dragons i only write out the characters. their backstories, their personalities... all the way up to the point i can answer pretty much any question that can be understood by them as that character. the only part of your story you have control over is up to the point you have the campaign starts.
once you have a solid theme for the campaign (for more complex campaigns id recommend giving all characters their own theme/style which is build to react into the greater tone of the campaign) all you do is just slowly move the players toward that theme with the characters you have available. treat the players autonomy as an active undercurrent of your theme. if they work with it, the characters react to that and the world shifts toward them. if they are antagonistic force to your theme, the conflict writes itself.
first campaign i lead absolutely fell apart, because it had nothing to do with anyone, other than the players immediate interests.
the current one im running has 8 factions all of which have interacted with at least two others, and the group is right in the middle of all the politics (so much so that the party is currently on a diplomatic to make peace with the techno-progressive faction which as far as the law abiding dwarves are concerned are techno-terriorists whos radical actions will bring down the clockwork nirvana of mechans down onto the underdark like a rather aggressive sack of bricks [as if the underdark wasnt bad enough already], which to be fair is an easy mistake to make when the leader of the techno-progressive factions is a blue dragon in an armorsuit so advanced that it gets its own initiative in the turn order)
Statistically, accounting for feats, items, etc, overall Twilight Cleric and Chronurgy Wizard are probably the strongest classes in the game, outside of very specific elf dex fighters that either use legendary firearms or crit fish with a vorpal Double Bladed Scimitar. With multiclass, that changes a bit, but, the most powerful support build in the game is Astral elf chronurgy wizard with the strip haven witherbloom background and the feytouched feat. As long as you can find a way to pick up guidance, the build gets insane. You get druid spells, turning you into a mini Cleric, and you get the most versatile spell list in the game. So what if your dpr drops a lot? With your buffs, debuffs, cc, and support, you make everyone else hella broken in your stead. Plus, your so mobile that you'll only get cornered if the dm is actively trying to kill you or you're an idiot. With the right items, you can hit 26 int and 7 prof and potentially up to +6 on your spell attacks/saves for a save DC of 29 and spell attack mod of 21. The only way to get a similar spell save is 19 bard / 1 twilight Cleric (hitting 22 CHa) with amulet of the devout + jesters mask + rhythm makers drum, which goes to dc 29 / +21 to hit, or Cleric/paladin with amulet of the devout + fate dealers deck + delirium crystal focus for DC 28 / +20 to hit.
19:55 I relate so much to this. I have a bard character (Funnily enough in my friend groups own one piece D&D) and they have expertise in persuasion. I think we're level 8 and they have a +15 or something crazy in persuasion and deception and when it comes to rolling deception its easy. Because lying is easy but if I need to genuinely persuade someone to do something I find that I (as the player) have a really hard time creating persuasive arguments. Additionally my character is quite smart, Smart enough to invent a hot air balloon after discovering steam in a just a few minutes and I am not so when the DM frequently does these riddle challenges I always think "Man my character would totally have a good answer for these but I don't" it doesn't exactly help that he (rightfully honestly) doesn't let us just roll intelligence to get past (Since that would be to easy to be a "Challenge") but it still bugs me from time to time.
I feel like Rustage's group would be chaotic, and Shwabadi's group would fallow the qust.
Rustage you guys have to have a lore episode of that elf campaign that sounded so interesting I'd love to hear about that idk about other people
I think it's Miyamoto Musashi ( don't know if he was know with the name Shwabadi used here though ). Also Imma pick Shwabadi's players on the account that I love and play Fate Grand Order.
Honestly was not gonna watch cause of the length and didn't know if I would enjoy ( despite loving Isekai dnd until dropping it cause of that Man ) but I'm glad I let it play cause I love it now, the length I think should at minimum stay at the 1 hour mark. Here's to hoping I enjoy the next videos as well !
I fell off of the Rustage campaigns unfortunately due to time constraints, but I love this podcast concept keep it up gamers
