Gotenks actually flipped Buu off sad they censored it I like when Gotenks goes more Trunks
thats why growing up with the original dub was best, the music, the tensiion... the blood and the naughty words/gestures was the best
I don't like dbz Kai, I prefer the originsl dub,it has the music not the bs censorship @@DasInf13
Good thing they censored the flipping off. It was cringe and cheesy 😅
@@bensenzo you’re saying it didn’t fit Gotenks personality?
@@Kickinthescience read again
1. Piccolo was a statue when Buu initially formed from the smoke, so him not knowing that Buu being just atoms is still enough for him to regenerate
2. Goten and Trunks being more relaxed makes sense when you remember that they had weeks in the Chamber to goof around with each other and sort of repress the fact that their parents are dead.
I like how some of the ghosts when they were lined up had more of a trunks personality, and some were def like goten
Yup 😊
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Got a question for you both. Can you react to the movie maximum overdrive

this is what happens when u give a bunch of kids vast power and leave them alone for months.... the imagination runs wild and they come up with ludicrous attacks
piccolo destroying the door shows u how far ahead he's planning that was piccolo's nuke all along
Haha yeah, as much as it got kind of old with their shtick, it was very much exactly how kids would act give their power and time they had 🤗😝
Seeing super buu chilling with a magazine and a soda is so relatable😭😭
Super Ghost Kamikaze is perhaps one of the most unusual but dangerous techniques in all of Dragonball there is literally no other attack quite like it.
It's basically a fusion of the hellzone grenade and saibamen.
Self-Destruct attacks in Dragon Ball are usually a lot more dangerous than regular ki beams/balls. The Super Ghost Kamikaze attack somehow lets them pack all that ki into another entity, then has _that_ entity SD instead.
A strangely genius move which takes full advantage of an in-universe rule that a couple of kids came up with before any of the adults.
@@christiancinnabars1402 Thing is that there is something of a precedent as well with the multiform technique. It is just that no one thought of self destructing the copies.
I used to love Gotenks as a kid, but after rewatching it these days..... Bangin' my head against the wall!!
😂 as a kid you could relate and they are acting as kids would act so it’s cool. But now…🤗
Same ! Good thing he/these two brats didn't become the new maincharacters
11:30 in their defense, Goten and Trunks werent there and Piccolo was stone when Buu formed himself from the smoke
True 🤗
There are so many great tactical applications for an attack like the Super Ghost Kamikaze.
Imagine how dangerous it would be with a more disciplined mind using it!
Also, that title had me thinking I was on a different part of the internet for a second. 😂
😂 we had to call it for what it was 😜
The title though… Super Ghost Kamikaze Sperm Attack.

4:30 the censored middle finger, I can't LMAOOOOOO
4:29 Mini Fun Fact: In the original DBZ series Gotenks actually gives Buu the middle finger. But unfortunately they censored it
Should’ve kept it in. Middle finger is tame 🤗
And these are the condensed Kai episodes. Not as abridged as Abridged, but more abridged that the original. Imagine how long the original fight felt.
Can’t imagine it being more dragged out 😂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 There was a whole extra episode of it in the original. Not the originals' worst case of padding by far, but yes 50% more mucking about
This was certainly one of the fights of all time.
😂😂😂
4:31 here in the original Japanese version Gotenks was flipping the middle 😂
4:30 God that looks so weird without Gotenks showing his middle finger.
"Thank you! Im so glad im nit the only one thinking that" 😂😂😂 dirty minds!

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 😀
I can't help but really love this entire fight- it's very reminiscent of Toriyama's older (and newer) material from before Dragon Ball kinda accidentally became a lot more self-serious
Like he just get's to let loose again for a bit, you know?
I think it's fine for Toriyama to have his chance to do some gag stuff, but I honestly hate this fight for the same reason a lot of people expressed: it's just a step too far into gags, in an arc that's already full of gags and reducing characters to jokes. This one was a step too far imo, because it's literally right after Goku laid down the law with legit seriousness before literally ending his time early just to set up the kids for success as much as possible and then them getting their ass kicked by Buu when they ran off half-cocked the first time and *then* Goten literally seeing his mom killed after his big brother was already "killed" by Buu...this should have been the turning point where we hit serious mode and ride that into a finale, but instead we have this directly sandwiched between some seriously morbid stuff on the Lookout.
It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and, frankly between this and what I call "the cucking of Shin" with how his character is reduced to the butt of the joke in every scene after his cool intro, it's the peak of my issues with the Buu saga as a whole - it has so many good moments when it stays serious (even when it goes back to comedy stuff with a certain Super Fighting Candy later), so much potential, but even more squandered by Toriyama being unleashed and, as a result imo, totally unfocused and haphazard with his handling of any sort of consistent tone.
@@Mrryn Well I dunno what to tell you, I like all that stuff (shrug)
It's okay if you feel different tho
@@kaialone And that's cool that you and certainly others do too. And Toriyama's gag stuff is great, I love how he turns that on its head with characters like Mr. Satan or his work with Gohan as the Great Saiyaman or even the stuff in this fight out of context.
Problem is imo in context, it's problematic. The tonal whiplash is a bit much. And as much as I like the Great Saiyaman stuff, I'm not gonna lie...that is almost certainly a big reason that Gohan failed as a standalone hero of the story. That is 100% a fumble on Toriyama's part to make that his reintroduction to the story after having the mantle passed. And then him trying to justify Goku coming back in as the hero because Gohan "wasn't cut out for the role" when he brought him back and made him a jokey character in a rom-com story that's supposed to be shonen battle manga and immediately outclassed by basically every major character including the character he was supposed to supplant...if Gohan didn't "fit the role"...well Toriyama wrote his character and story. He fit it fine the arc before as a kid, and then tossed him aside early on.
Apologies for the rant. Just really think Toriyama dropped the ball so much with this arc and it's kind of frustrating.
The thing with Gotenks is, like most fusions, as much as he takes traits from the fusee’s, the fusion result is it’s own person. That’s why I like Goten and Trunks separately, by I vehemently dislike Gotenks.
I feel like most of the fusions tend to be very arrogant and annoying. Only one was the one in the Janemba movie where he said nothing.
@@shadowfox2120This comment has a lot wrong with it, but I can’t go into detail because I don’t want to spoil anything incase they see this
@@shadowfox2120well that comment is very wrong. Gotenks is understandable due to their age. But the others...not so much
@@lordkai59 How is he wrong? Up till DBS Broly, the only other canon fusion is Vegito and he is very arrogant. Im not sure about canon Gogeta, we haven't seen him interact much so Its hard to tell what his personality is. Even if you include Kefla, most if not all fusions are arrogant.
@@1BuFo Vegito isnt arrogant, he intentionally acted that way to provoke a responce
4:34 censored middle finger lol
Two things I REALLY appreciate about the fight between Gotenks and Keto Kirby.
1. The level of actual fight choreography that was incorporated. They demonstrated many different techniques, as opposed to the countless "faster than the eye can see" punches, kicks, and generic Ki blasts that we see so much of throughout the series.
2: The old-school levels of classic Toriyama humor that we get. He was a comedy manga writer before he wrote Dragon Ball. Love to see it.
The thing with fusions is that the most dominant personality tends to take over, in this case kid Trunks', so the result is usually a cocky arrogant warrior. You can count it as a side effect of the power boost it grants.
No Goku it is the Super-Sonic Liontamer.
Gotenks is so extra lol
Nahhh no they didn't with the title though 💀I mean accurate tho 😂
😇🤗
What cracks me up about this is... as completely evil and intimidating as super buu is... he is still buu... he is still very childlike.
It honestly felt like kids at the park shouting things like "I shoot my ray gun," "nuh uh... I can survive any wound, your raygun doesn't hurt me!,"
You know... except they actually can both punch planets in half.
Good old Gotenks
Idk if Gotenks would be mad or angry that others are dead🤔 when they fuse the new being (Gotenks) has his own conscious and memories.
We keep forgetting that fused character is completely new being 🤔
The original Z was gotenks made a middle finger on majin buu after clashing headbutts which vegeta did that too back in the Z namek arc
I notice this trend with the longer arcs in dragonball like Frieza, Cell, and Buu.
It starts off real strong, at some point it devolves to a lot of drawn put fight against a single opponent, (Frieza’s many forms, Cell slowly becoming perfect, Super Buu here), and then wraps around to a really exciting finale.
If it ain’t broke.. 🤗
That ghost attack is one of my favourites and you had the same reaction as me to it
That attack is the highlight of this fight
Oh I didn't realise they censored Gotenks flipping off Buu in the Kai version, that's silly.
Agreed. Middle finger is so tame 😕
Having grown up watching the series, the OG/Funimation DBZ of this was torture. I know its for shits & giggles with Gotenks, but that's why I appreciate the Cell Games fights with Gohan and co, because mostly everything in that was great. The kids here are just a sideshow for when the real heroes eventually show up. The Buu arc has a lot of ups and downs. I read a long time ago that Toriyama kept trying to end the series after each saga, but they kept egging him on to keep it going, so this is what we got lol.
You think it was self sabotage haha 😜
I've said it before about Goten and Trunks uselessness....just wanted you guys to see it for your selves 😅 inba: yes they bout time.....I know that's about all they did
It is something we had to experience 😝
One of my favorite attacks
This episode proves that Majin Buu's regeneration is even more Broken than Cell's own.
True. Though Cell does have the benefit of Saiyan biology so whenever he regenerates, he gets a power boost from it.
In Gotenks defense it's not just goten and trunks fused it's an entirely new mind and person with its own consciousness that knows it only has 30 minutes before he disappears, so he wants to put on a show and be a bit of show off rather than finishing as quick as possible which is obviously a bit childish but he is like 12 so it's to be expected
Yeah we totally get that this is very true to how a kid would act. But to still gets frustrating haha. Gohan saved the world at around the same age 😝😇
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 yah true I guess the big difference is these kids biggest issue up until these past few days was their moms telling them not to stay up late playing video games lol
I believe this is the last silly episode for a while, the real fight starts now
😎👍🙂
I hope y’all react to Dragonball Super after your all caught up with Kai. Especially if you love Vegeta so much because there’s some seriously golden moments with him the first couple arcs lol
We do plan to continue with DB Super 😁
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Ah, yeah sick. And since I’m a patron I’ll know early. Good times all around lol
11:29 It is insane to me how much respect I as a child immediately had for Supreme Kai upon knowing that he was basically God of their universe and you guys are noy having any of it. Lmao
Idk if you watched DBS but Shin (Supreme Kai) really sucks at his job lol
It’s because he got built up for us. Piccolo oversold him haha. 😜
This is 100% the weirdest fight across the whole franchise. I'm talking weirder than anything in the original dragonball, Dragonball Z kai, and DBS. (There is one fight thats weirder in Dragonball GT that TeamFourStar made a joke about in DB abridged)
you mean the dancing weirdos from GT? lol
To me gotenks is awesome he's incredible strong and very entertaining to watch and part of the reason I like gotenks so much is him being real pissed at piccolo for destroying the door cause if he had been listening to gotenks with his god like hearing he wouldn't have trapped them in there for me that's one of piccolos dumbest decisions more cause the anime is repeatedly saying how good his hearing is but he didn't hear anything gotenks said before getting ready to use a much more powerful technique and again you 2 are being way to hard supreme kai if the z fighters listened to him to begin with buu never would have been revived 😊😅❤
Possibly. Not sure how it would turn out. Supreme Kai thought the Z sword was indestructible. Maybe they just would’ve sped up the process and Buu would’ve been release as gas into the air and formed. Or something else could’ve gone wrong. Without seeing an alternate version of it play out in some multiverse it’s tough to say….basically we will never not go hard at Supreme Kai 😂😜🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 that's your choice I've never even thought to blame supreme kai for the z sword the only ones that knew elder kai was sealed in the sword was elder kai beerus and whis which happened at least a century before shin became supreme kai there is no one even alive while he is supreme kai to tell him even if they knew my main being shin is a lot more capable then people give him credit for he was right about buu being released and now the ones that can even fight him are gotenks and gohan when he finishes his power up like I said buu never would have been revived if they listened to shin buu wasn't revived in future trunks timeline because trunks took it seriously and listened to the supreme kai that's all I'm saying love your reactions and love you both 😊❤
Gotrnks flips him off in dbz original
Super ghost kamikaze sperm attack is not a move I wanna be hit by

The entire intro is full of spoilers but they cover their eyes when they see the title of the episode?
Hey, you guys should check out avatar the last Airbender, I think it's right up your guys' alley!
It’s a show we plan to check out. Probably after Castlevania…which is coming soon 😁
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Awesome, can't wait!
Gotenks had so much potential but...
Yeah…
Piccolo destroying the entrance was smart but at the same time, it's messed up that he didn't tell Goten & Trunks because now they're doomed to live the rest of their lives in emptiness, assuming the dragon balls can't get them out of an alternate dimension.
The consideration was that they were practically dead anyways when it comes to this.
Gotenks was a menace in DBFZ back when it first came out. I still bring him out from time to time.
SUPER GHOST KAMIKAZE ATTACK~!

I feel like something's off with the title but I'm not sure what...
Did we misspell kamikaze? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 That must be it 🤣
When is sao comin go back
It’s not. We got a copyright strike from the owners of SAO. So we won’t be doing them anymore. We finished it up on Patreon which you can see all of them for just $1. It sucks we got singled out it seems but also have been hearing that anime companies are getting stricter and going after new reactions that come out 😕
Hmm well thank for clearing that up but it’s really sad for that to happen especially when you guys were getting to the good part😔
Crazy how goku never invented an original technique beside changent the trajectory of ki blast , and gotenks came up with the most original ones in one week
Well thats not goku's strong point, his real skill is being charismatic and likeable so everyone teaches him techniques and ways to get stronger
If you think goku never had an original technique then you clearly didn't watch original DB🙄
Naaaah that title bruh lmfao
😇
I don't like dbz kai, I prefer the original dub. You can't beat the soundtracks and there is censorship. Grew up with wit it, and I'm only watching this kai cuz of your reaction. I would have never watched it on my own.
Appreciate you still watching it along with us even though you don’t like this version. Means a lot 🤗🙂
DOG! 🥰
Yeah ☺️
This is the reason I consider the Buu saga filler. Honestly, most of the final 100 episodes are nothing but filler tacked on to the end of a good series. Abridged ended about where the series itself should have, oddly enough the Buu saga would have worked better in their format than it did in the official run of the series. After all the saga that most deserves to be a parody is the Buu Saga, although it does a decent job of being a parody of itself as is.
To be honest, I actually liked the Buu saga a lot.. maybe even more than Namek and/or Cell. I watched the OG DragonBall back when it aired on Toonami, alongside Z, and will always stand firm on my opinion that DB is infinitely better than DBZ/GT/Super. The humor and storylines were charming, endearing, memorable, and witty and the whole show very delicately bounced around the line of "serious" and "silly" without sacrificing quality... and Z lost a lot of it when it got too serious with the fate of the world always in the balance (end of DB kinda got that way too, though the last martial arts tournament still had humorous moments, like Yamcha's unfortunate fight). Honestly, the Buu saga felt like a return back to the franchise's origins and felt like Toriyama FINALLY got to write what *he* wanted to instead of what his execs forced him to.
Yeah, maybe the storytelling was janked to all hell and the pacing was terrible in the original run (but, hey, "five minutes" on Namek says a lot about DBZ's pacing), but Kai's version of the Buu saga honestly feels like quintessential OG DragonBall.
The Buu Saga HAS filler, it's just that the structure of the arc is designed to account for that rather than having to stop the plot to deliver the filler like with Bulma shenanigans on Namek or the overdrawed out Goku vs Frieza battle or the three year time skip before the Androids was full of unrelated filler, but it was at least marked as such and skippable.
So in a way I think they wanted to incorporate filler in a better way after all the problems that came before (this is one of the first animes imported to the west and going straight to tv as it was being written so there was a lot of uncharted territory), but made it worse because the filler (the tournament after the Saiyans leave, Hercule and Buu shenanigans, Gohan's power-up) is "unskippable". Thankfully it's mostly over at this point and it gets back to it from here on.
Nowadays anime just adopts the seasonal model thankfully and avoids the problem of filler entirely
@@ultrahotwings9738 DBZ still has plenty of humor. Frieza is embarrassed by his own Ginyu Force.
The whole afterlife system with King Yama in relation to the Kais is a reoccurring joke that Goku seems to hav free reign over.
Goku in a moment of despair, thought he got rid of Cell by "somehow" teleporting to King Kai's place wiping out everyone but the villain.
As far as what makes a series Balanced is up to the reader. You'll never hear a definitive answer on how much humor shud be an anime compared to seriousness. What lands for one person won't apply to the next.
@@e-roc6472Oh, absolutely, humor is subjective. To be fair, DBZ does have some humor, but it seems to be more.. compartmentalized and scattered, if that makes sense. Like, you have "funny arc" and "serious arc", where DB was more integrated between the both.
TBH, Namek was so serious in tone for so much of the time, I actually found the Ginyus to be more of a forced weird mood whiplash than actually funny. I suppose it was Toriyama trying to insert his humor (Ginyu Force does feel like something that'd totally fit in with DB), but it just felt awkward and out of place, IMHO.
But, yeah, that's all subjective, lol. Humor is all subjective anyway! There are people who absolutely live for mood whiplashes because of the weird schism between expectation and reality and find it totally entertaining instead of jarring the suspension of disbelief.
@@ultrahotwings9738 I actually agree completely with the jarring nature of force blending tones. That's what made Ginyu Force so easy to bring up lol
But even outside that I've personally gotten that feeling thru all of the db franchise. We mentioned z already but in og we have scenes where Goku is about to kill everyone as a giant oozaru then Roshi casually apologizes for blowing up the moon.
During T.O.P we have ribrianne being well, Ribrianne the next moment Frieza brutally punishes a yardrat with death beams all while the Zenos are saying how cool it is for everyone to fight for their universe.
So my overall reaction to tone just depends on the prior setting (scene) established. But regardless of my opinions, it is good when the creators our allowed to tell their story, not the studio's version.
kai buu saga is terrible. at least the original funimation release had the faulkner sound track, made the shallow attempts at comedy more barrable.
13:41 Remember, if Piccolo dies, the Dragon Balls won’t work anymore. And it’s very unlikely that Buu won’t kill Piccolo, especially after he just told him that the exit is gone now.
Piccolo is giving up his own life in order to seal himself, Goten, Trunks, and Buu in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to save the rest of the world.
Edit: Nevermind, I was mistaken. I forgot that Dende became the new guardian of Earth, and thus, the Dragon Balls are linked to Dende. Not Piccolo. I apologize.
That hasn't been true since he merged with Kami back in the Cell saga. Dende is the one linked to Shenron now.
Dende is the one in charge of the Dragon Balls
